Body medium. Mwah
3.5 Nice murky blonde pour. Sweet tones of honey, but also a lot of fresh, citrus tones
1.5 Bottled. Poured murky medium brown with some larger sediment and almost no head. The aroma picked up bar rags, honey, and a touch of cardboard with light fruity accents. The flavor found similar.. touches of honey and fruits at the core, but lots of wet cardboard and other paper-like notes throughout.. slick finish with tacky, unappealing malts and a touch of peppery spice. Medium-bodied and slick on the palate with almost no carbonation.. just not good.
3.5 Aroma: Slight/medium aroma of malts, Belgian yeast, honey, caramel, fruit, straw and hops. Appearance: Turbid/opaque yellow/golden beer with medium yeast and with a slight/medium white/off-white head. Taste/Palate: Starts medium sweet with malts, Belgian yeast, honey, caramel and fruit; ends slightly bitter and dry with straw and hops. Overall: This beer is rather intense, complex and balanced. I can imagine the debate about the style of this beer, feels like a Belgian Ale/Imperial Pilsener mix. It manages to do this without a problem. The aroma could have been stronger, the appearance is great and unfiltered, the flavour is decent all-over and the palate is great.
2.5 Decent stuff. Did they re-label recently? Finds a balance between mostly herbal bitterness and a slight sweet aftertaste. Nothing out of the ordinary but decent fare.
2.8 Still not a big fan of Belgian Ale, but the dry hopping makes it easy to enjoy. Aroma and taste are strong, and there is a small bitterness wave to finish in mouth.
3.4 Alone at home. Hazy blond colored beer with large diminishing white head and medium carbonation. Fruited hopped aroma. Full sparkling palate. Finish is sweet hopped bitter.
3.2 Bottle poured into nosing glass. Pours hazy yellow with creamy head. Nose iskind of sour yeasty. Taste is slight alcohol and decent bitterness. Grassy hops and long bitter, still sweet finish.
3.2 At Home gold blond coloured sparkling body with a white head and with a spicy hop aroma a spicy herby dry hop bitter taste with a bitter finish
3.7 From the tap at In De Wildeman as Nobel X. Very nice blonde beer. Backlog from 2014/05/15.
3.6 330 ml. bottle. BBF 01/10/2017. Pale golden, creamy solid paper-white head. Nose is mineral, milky sweet, white sugar. Taste is milky sweet yeast, white sugar, lightly mineral, light lime, white bread, candy, light hay. Slick milky body, light mineral quality. Too sweet maybe, easy to drink, clean. Interesting mix of Belgian sweetness with a light body & clean body. Nice & amazing that a mainstream Imperial Pils is this good. Man De Proef… The sweetness does get a touch too much in the end as does the milky nature.
3.3 Bottle - Hazy golden colour, persistent white head. Bready aromas, hay, spicy nose. Taste is sweet malt, cereals, grassy hops, some orange peel. Medium body and carbonation, smooth texture but a bit offensive alcohol. Good.
3.1 33cl flesje via AH, Breda als Nobel X Alcoholpercentage van 8,7% Uitgeschonken in Grimbergen glas Uiterlijk: goudoranjekleurig met volle schuimkraag Aroma en smaak: bittertje, hoppig, moutig, gistig, grassig Conclusie: gebeurt me te weinig qua verschillende smaken
3.9 0.33l bottle as a gift from Lore. A bit murky golden body, long lasting white head. Aroma of sugary bread, grains, floral hops, orange peel and some booze. Taste of bread, grains, floral hops, orange zest and some medicinal bitterness. Very nice.
4.1 opalescent golden colour, moderate sized creamy white head; aroma of grassy-floral hops with herbal and citrusy notes, some vegetables and bread; taste of malty sweetness, hints of citruses (tangerine?) and some minimal spicy alcohol - excellent imperial pils
3.1 Grassy perfumy nose witn some peach. Dryish with fairlym light body and clean, rounded mouthfeel.
3.5 Clear, golden beer with a good white head, medium / high carbonation. Tastes like malt, slightly bitter hops, light caramel, fruity and slightly sweet. Nice long bitter aftertaste, refreshing.
Duidelijk mouten aanwezig, lichte karamel. Interessant palet. Medium body en co2.
3.8 Bottle from a liqor store in Leerdam. The beer is hazy golden to yellow colored and pours a nice and stable white head. The aroma is malty and spicy, with also some citrus notes and hops. The taste is malty with some sweetness of green apples. In the background also a little sourness to change into a spicy and hoppy bitterness. Well balanced. The finish is long and light bitter and very refreshing. Very nice pilsner, the very first imperal pils which I really like.
3.6 Hazy to murky golden color. Tall, lasting off-white head. Pale malt with hints of floral hops. Snippets of herbs and resin. Just neither outgoing or engaging. Does not present its strength in either the aroma, feel or taste. Lightly sweet with a hint of rose petals. Middle is laced with herbal hops, with notes of wintergreen and white pepper that carry into the finish and linger. Smooth and mildly prickly in feel. A hopped up maibock of sorts. A little too easy to drink. I could set with this one for quite some time on a spring day. 2/10
3.1 * Old rating. Best before 12. 2011.
3.4 BOTTLE 33 CL from Douberd. Look: almost clear golden, very creamy white head. Aroma: beautiful German hops, flowery and lemony, a bit of sweetness and some glue. Taste: a nice strong body, some sweetness and quite hoppy.
3.3 Clear yellow-brown beer with a nice frothy head. Smell is wood and resin, with subtle grainy caramel sweetness, touch of leather. Typical German bitterness. Dry bitter beer, reminds me of a British ale, but dominated by typical German feel. Touch of caramel, alcohol. Orange peel finish. Nice. Interesting choice of hops, very original.
3.7 (Christoffel Nobel) Stubby bottle, 330 ml, poured into a glass tankard, ABV 8.7% Slightly hazy body, deep golden in colour, with a big white head on top, thick and with great retention. Medium lacing left on the glass. Aroma of malts, heavy on the straw, light alcohol, some grains. Taste also of malts, sugars, light grains especially on the finish, very notable alcohol, giving it some medicinal notes, straw but also traces of hops. Medium body, carbonation on good levels. Quite good, packing an alcohol punch.
3.6 bottle, courtesy of joes and mowbeer. shiny golden with a thin white head; grassy saazy aroma; medium bitterness, citric tinge and a touch of menthol. hopefully a czech brewery can make an imperial pils like this one day
3.5 Update 2016 on bottle 2014: orange peel aroma. Honey taste. 2014: citrus, alcohol, golden, cloudy, very bitter, lively, bitter, A tasty hoppy dutch beer. A good pick for any beer drinker who?s into beers on the bitter end.
3.7 0.33L bottle. Pours clear golden with a rocky white head that dissipates quickly. Interesting hop aroma, resin and herbs, with some alcohol. Initial flavor is medium sweet, this quickly transforms into a nice hop flavor, both floral and resiny. Finishes with a good amount of bitterness that almost balances out the sweetness, and a nice warm alcohol flavor. Mild but fizzy carbonation with a medium-full body and a fairly sticky texture. Overall, a decent hoppy ale, which isn’t so easy to find in the Netherlands. Has both nice hop aroma and flavor with enough malt to balance the bitterness. This used to be one of my favorites brewed in NL, but the original company went out of business and the new version isn’t quite as good.
