Cigar City Cafe Con Leche Stout

Cigar City Cafe Con Leche Stout

BEER DESCRIPTION
Sweet, roasty and always invigorating, traditional Latin American cafe con leche coffee can be found nearly everywhere in our hometown of Tampa, Florida and serves as the inspiration for our Cafe Con Leche Sweet Stout. The beer is made with bold, strong coffee beans to emulate the most characterful Cuban espresso and lactose, a milk sugar that adds sweetness, body and flavors reminscent of scalded milk. Despite it's assertive flavors and full body, our sweet stout is deceptively low in alcohol, making it the perfect accompaniment to a late-morning plate of eggs, bacon and tostatas.

TASTING NOTES
Malted milk, chocolate and fresh-ground coffee aromas bring to mind the finest cup of caf? con leche coffee while flavors of toffee, semi-sweet chocolate and a touch of roast on the palate are complimented by espresso and a touch of vanilla

4.2 Aroma: Strong aroma of coffee, vanilla, milk chocolate, cookies and cocoa. Slight aroma of nuts and green beans. Appearance: Clear dark brown, very good beige head. Taste: Lactose sweetness balanced by roasted bitterness. Slightly acidic. Fantastic fusion of tastes. Palate: Medium body, average carbonation, creamy. Overall: Very pleasant milk stout. Great aroma of coffee, extremely drinkable, beautifully balanced taste. An imperial version could be incredible!
3.7 650ml bottle. Black with two finger dense brown head. Aroma is initially green peppers followed by a nicer bouquet of slightly sweet coffee with loads of beans in the background, vanilla, chocolate, lactose and dry dark malts. Taste is dark malts, coffee beans, molasses and toffee. Medium mouthfeel, light, prickly carbonation and fently sweet coffee aftertaste.
3.6 Opaque, fine mousse forever lasting. Very full body, little flavor for the body, rich mouthfeel with long aftertaste, good finish. Moderately bitter, dry, low acidity. Roast flavors dominate. Good but not great.

Mycket gott.
3.6 On tap at Rbabarrab. Black with a tan head. Aroma of milk, caramel, maple syrup ad some candy. Smooth, sweet, slightly lactic taste, caramel. Full body, fizy, long and bitter and caramel finish.

3.7 Black with a brown head. Malty aroma with notes of chocolate and a roasted sensation. Sweet and mild with a slightly bitter, dry finish. Nice.
3.9 (650ml bottle from Systembolaget) Pours pitch black with a small stable mocha-coloured head. Notes of quite burnt malt, ash, very earthy black coffee, unsweetened chocolate, lightly sweet malted/scalded milk vibe, a little caramel. Despite the style, only lightly sweet up front and very dry on the finish. Lots of bitter coffee and burnt, ashy roast on the finish. Slight lingering lactose creaminess. Light to medium bodied and rather softly carbonated. Not really sweet for a sweet stout but a nice roasty flavourful low-alcohol stout nonetheless.
4.1 Bottle, courtesy of SinH4, thanks! Pours darkest brown with a brown head. Aroma is green peppers, coffee beans, cocoa nibs. Body is medium, strongly bitter but also lactic milky sweet. Still mostly coffee with cocoa, also peppers and caramel. Smooth and harmonic. Dryish palate with lingering flavours. Very good!

The taste is sweet, light bitter, has chocolate, roast and coffee, hint of lactose. Very soft, creamy and quite full for a 6.0 ABV beer. Great beer.

Lactosa bien integrada. Final dulce. Regusto y postgusto a chocolate y café. Poco que ver con un café con leche pero tampoco esperaba que se pareciera.
