Cigar City Guayabera Citra Pale Ale

Cigar City Guayabera Citra Pale Ale

Traditional throughout Latin America, the guayabera shirt combines style, functionality, form and tradition in it’s four-pocketed design. We at Cigar City feel the same reverence and appreciation for the guayabera that we do for the Citra hop varietal, an ingredient that imparts notes of tangerine, lime and berries to this traditional American Pale Ale. The exclusive use of Citra hops in this beer creates a flavor that’s at once unique and recognizable, while it’s dry, crisp character and moderate alcohol make it as refreshing and functional as a crisp linen guayabera.

3.8 Very good, balanced PA-IPA with lots of fresh, juicy flavor. It is a good Citra showcase, and it is easy going enough.
3.8 Can from Beer Hop. It pours a lovely glowing orangey - gold with a decent white head. The aroma is fresh and fruity, lovely green fruits, melon, lime, kiwi fruit, Berry's, zingy citrus and starburst. The taste is firmly dry, nice hit of bitterness, pithy, zesty citrus action, melon, lychee, kiwi fruit, tangerine, tangelo, bitter orange peel, peppery spice, clean malt base and a nip of pine with a dry finish. Average body and moderate carbonation. Really nice. I like the green fruit vibe. Very drinkable indeed.

3.3 Can 35,5 cl. Hazy golden with a small, roughish white head. Some citrus and pine in the nose. An initial sweet fruitiness captured in a medium body. Some layers of pineapple before a dry and hoppy finish. Pretty solid old school APA. 140421

3.4 Off white weak head. Light amber colour. Aroma is hoppy, citrusy with tangerine and light grass and resinous notes. Flavor is hoppy too with citrusy and fruity (grapefruit and tangerine) tones, ending in an hoppy finish. Light to medium bodied.

3.6 Hazy pale gold pour. It smells mainly of citrusy hops. The flavor is moderately bitter with a good bready malt balance. Pretty tasty.

3.5 Soft, tropical bitterness, golden medium bodied with well defined Citra hop profile. Part of a mixed Cigar City 12 pack. Guayabera may have a weird name but a fine beer.
3.8 Can. Hoppy aroma and taste, malty notes, citrus fruit, medium bitter. Medium body, malty and hoppy bitter finish. Good.
3.6 12 oz can. Pours a cloudy pale gold with a fluffy white head. Mango and papaya smells. Dry astringent mouthfeel that delivers a nice tart hop forward taste of lemon and pine. Balanced well and the bitter finish lingers nicely. Good one.
3.4 @ Havregatan 20210116. Can (355 ml) from Systembolaget. Fruity, citrusy and malty, sweet, medium body with an oily texture. The finish is bitter.
4.0 Can from Systembolaget. Fresh hoppy smell with citra. Similar taste. Light-med body. Med bitterness. Nice and refreshing.
3.9 Buying this can, yesterday, at the drinks of the world, Geneva. Opening this can, at my hotel room, at Paris, first trip since august, thanks my Chinese Covid friend. The body is yellow/orange and slightly troubled, normal carbonation, a bit sparkling, white foam. A classical and interesting citra pale ale, to begin, you get a side fruity, note of strawberry and after the beverage is becoming more bitter and citrus with this typical side of citra hop, dry malt, floral, a bit sour, refreshing and good.
2.9 Burk. Disig gulfärgad med ett stabilt vitt skum. Dofter och smaker av citron, citronskal, lime, örter och malt. Medel mot liten kropp. Syrlig avslutning, medel mot liten beska.

4.0 Can, 0.355l. Aroma of citrus, tropical fruit, herbs and biscuit. Pours cloudy pale amber color with medium sized frothy off-white head and flat visible carbonation. Taste starts refreshing citrusy and resinous, following is herbal, resinous and mild tropical fruity, mouthfeel is dry, while finish is heavy bitter. Medium body, oily texture and lively carbonation in palate. Guantanamera...
3.4 Moderate bright white head of fine bubbles. Dank hops aroma with some salt air, light citrus, sweatsock, lime and sweet malts. Color is a medium gold. More dank and sweaty flavors. Pale malts, cereal grains, tart lime and lingering grapefruit pith. Rather dry and astringent in the mouth. Light alcohol presence. Finishes dry and pasty with lingering bitterness. May not sound that great but it is quite tasty and a pretty good pale ale.
3.7 Can. Golden pour. Aroma of grassy citrus, lime, grapefruit and orange. Taste has creamy orange, grassy citrus, bready malt, subtle pine, bitter lime and grapefruit. Nice old school bitterness.
3.7 (Keg at Pikkulintu, 20201201) The beer poured amber and hazy. Its head was medium sized, white and it lasted long. Aroma had grapefruit, citricness and malts. Palate was medium bodied with medium carbonation. Flavours were grapefruit, tangerine, citricness, grass, malts and bitterness. Aftertaste was hoppy and bitter. A well done balanced hoppy brew.
