3.7 Puszka. Leciutko mętnawe o bursztynowym kolorze. Piana biała ,średnia, opada powoli. W aromacie słód,marmolada, szyszki, czerwone cytrusy, drewno i rodzynki. W smaku potężna dawka goryczki,jałowcowej.przyprawy z domieszką pieprzu, cytrusowe albedo, karmel i duża zawartość żywicy i szyszek. Marmolada i karmel w tle. Drewniane lub beczkowe posmaki są bardzo wyrazne. Smakuje trochę jak syrop na kaszel... Wysycenie male. Ogólnie fajne l
3.9 Fluffy off white head stayed on a hazy copper coloured still body. Well balanced aroma of malts, sweet hops & spices. Medium bodied, creamy over the palate with an effervescent back & clean dry aft. Bitter pine, pith, pale malt, spices, earth & caramel tastes with a peppery finish.
3.3 Can pour into nonic pint glass from Total Wine & More, Burlington. Appearance is lightly hazy (fine white particulates) amber-orange with nice sparkle, finger width off-white head with poor retention and trace soapy lacing. Aroma is heavy cedar dominating mildly fruity hops and base malts. Taste is heavy cedar as aroma dominating faint fruit, mild bitterness and cracker. Mouthfeel is medium side of light-to-medium bodied with smooth, slightly slippery texture, soft carbonation, mild pleasant alcohol warmth and finish as taste. Overall, not sure why I can't get into cedar the same as pine or spruce, but there's something either a little harsh about it or the connotations of moth prevention is not as appealing. Cedar is also too strong/dominant.
4.2 Decent IPA. Get humidor cedar right away, nice citrusy hops & good balance
4.4 4 pack of 12 ouncers, canned 08/23/2019. Clear, bronze-orange pour with a sticky, half-inch of beady foam. Mild, but pleasant aroma of caramel, earthy orange, and peppery resin. Flavors of orange marmalade, earthy toffee, peppery evergreen and a touch of cocoa. Medium mouthfeel with medium carbonation and a nice balance. Very interesting brew.
3.9 Pours cloudy golden. Aroma is hoppy, pine, citrus. Taste is hoppy, citrus, pine, nice bitterness.
3.9 Pours hazy gold, white head. Aroma of peach and grass, hint of smoke. Taste of fruit but woody, resinous, and complex. Full mouthfeel. Interesting.
3.9 355 ml can. Canned on 08.07.2019. Pours clear golden color with a large white head. Resinous hoppy aroma, orange and tangerine notes, subtle pine, some malty tones, caramel and hints of mango. Flavor is citric with orange and grapefruit, malts, resinous hops and bitterness. Very good balance, bitter and refreshingly fruity, nice. 3516
4.0 Pours dark gold, copper orange, weak and quickly disappearing head (looks like international lager). Aroma is biscuity sweet with peach, mandarin and citrous zest hints. Cedar wood after warming up, pleasant wood smell similar to Palo Santo, some forest and resin hints as well. Flavor is bitter, grainy and resinous bitterness, with mild grapefruit, fruity and woody notes. Sweet biscuit malty backbone. Quite satisfying.
3.3 Can. Copper in color with an almost orange hue when held up to the light. A nice meeium head. Aroma was grapefruit and spruce. Taste was a slight sweet citrus up front, grapefruit and spruce in the middle with a bitter finish.
3.8 Pours a clear, dark golden with a full white head. The aroma consists of heavy pine and caramel, some grapefruit, and slight resin and herbal hops. The flavors presented are similar to the nose, only more intense. Caramel and pine dominate here. Grapefruit is very faint while the resin is now stronger. There is then pepper, mild oak, and light floral notes. Moderately bitter and with a good pine aftertaste. Medium in body and thick in texture. I think I might prefer the standard Jai Alai, but this is still very good.
3.7 Can from Beer Zoo. Clear amber body with an off-white head. Steady carbonation. Faint lacing. Aroma of blood orange and dried leaves. Flavour of cedar, marmalade, Lockets and earth. Medium body with an oily texture. Soft fizz. Spicy and interesting.
4.2 0.35l can. Pours cloudy deep gold with off-white head. Aroma of citrus, some fruit, woody, malt, pine. Taste is malt, citrus, pine, fruits, hints of caramel and resin. Medium mouthfeel, medium carbonation. Excellent IPA.
4.0 Uklar gylden med offwhite skum. Aroma sitrus krydder humle malt. Smak sitrus humle skog malt. Smaksrik ipa med soft bitterhet. Tap på Agenturet
4.5 a truly delicious beer. good hop flavor. I got more pine than citrus, especially with the woody notes from the cedar. my only comment/complaint is that this doesn't really seem like a flavored IPA. More like an aged IPA.
3.4 Can from Holiday Market. Pours a clear copper gold with a finger of off-white foam that lingers. Great lacing down the glass. Lots of grapefruit and caramel on the nose. Some dried honey, mild tobacco notes alongside floral and cedar aromas as it warms. Light and easy drinking on the palate. Toasted caramel, dry cedar and light herbal pepper on the palate with a lingering grapefruit zest and pith underneath. Not bad, but the cedar does really jump out a bit too much for me.
3.6 Can. Pours an amber color with creamy white head. Subtle aroma of citrus. Mellowly bitter with light citrus flavors. Light bodied. More subtle than I expected.
3.7 12 oz can from Total Wine and More in Short Pump, VA The ale poured a cloudy amber color with an off-white head and ample lacing. The head slowly dissipated to a collar on the ale. The aroma of tangerine and cedar wood greet you. The taste is complex. The cedar wood impacts most of your experience. Some nice citrus flavors and tropical fruit as well. The ale has a medium body with average carbonation. Some lingering bitterness in the upper mouth.
4.0 Can. Wine Rack, Sharrow, Sheffield. Pale amber. Light haze. Thin, lasting, semi lacing, just off white head. Nose has pine cone. Pine sap. Split pine. You get the idea. Taste is a little sweet, but mostly it’s full on, sappy, sticky, resinous bitterness. Medium. Slick and oily. Fine carbonation. Big piny bitterness to finish.
4.5 Cedar nose. Clear amber, medium head, nice. Black pepper, oak, wormwood, grapefruit.Medium body, easy carbonation. Exceptionally unique.
3.9 Dark amber pour lace is even on the rim. Taste of strong black pepper with lime and heat of black pepper on palate
3.4 Not digging the cedar. The IPA is your usual lovely Cigar City offering, full of grapefruit, pineapple, mandarin, and pine, but the cedar comes through too prominently on the back end, leading to a cologne-ish herbal woodiness on the finish. The pepper and bitterness are nice, but the cedar is too distracting; the wood aging should be a accent--White Oak Jai Alai's a fine example--not the dominant force on the back end of a pint. Not my thing.
4.3 On tap at exit six. Incredibly fresh tasting ipa. Good long lasting aftertaste. This lives up to the hype.
3.9 $2.65 can from WW. Pours golden-orange with a small off-white head. Aroma is pine, cat piss, citrus, wood. Flavor is... whoa, cedar like mad! Pine, spice/pepper, citrus peel. Damn that cedar is great.
3.6 Can. It poured a hazy orange color with a white head. The aroma was of cedar, citrus and hops. The taste was similar to the aroma with more cedar, citrus, hops, pine, citrus, pepper with medium carbonation and a nice bitter aftertaste. Tasty.
4.1 Bottle on Feb 10th, 2010. split with Pat on his 25th Birthday. Amber orange with a medium white head. Nice lace. Nose and flavor of heavy spanish cedar, closet, citrus, pine, pineapple, orange, and other woodsy dankness. Dry finish. Really nice beer if you love Cedar like I do.
3.6 Spanish cedar really adds an interesting vibe here. Like a cigar case for sure. Pours murky orange-brown with good head and great lacing. Lime and pine from hops. Decent malt backbone. Bitter and woody end like Dracula's death. Tap at brewery.
3.7 (Tap) clear, bright orange colour with a small, white head; aroma of tangerine; balanced flavour with a long, light bitter finish
4.1 This was the first Cigar City brew that I sampled, so can't compare it to any of their others like the regular Jai Alai IPA. Picked up at Roy's Liquor in Fort Pierce, FL. The appearance was very nice for an IPA, more on the amber-dark orange color/ hint of light brown versus a pale yellowish-orange like some others. Aroma had a lot of cedar in it, but that cut down some of the other smells of grapefruit, pine, etc. I agree with Changeup that this may be on the dryer side, so maybe I prefer my IPA's non-dry? Still think, for less than half the price, that Bell's Two Hearted might be my favorite IPA, but this may be slightly better in quality. Flavors are a little different so really tough to compare. But for $10/ 750ml, I honestly expected just a little bit more. Worth the try though, especially since I am supporting a local brewery.................................UPDATED 6/22/13: Ok. For this rating what more can you expect? It's one damn good IPA! Now that they are bottling it in 4-packs....get one.....now!
3.2 3-10- 2017 white head that quickly disappear to a thin lace. Very cloudy and not appealing. Piney and cedar wood aroma. Sweet maltiness and a rough bitterness. 2019 11 15 Sampled at Oliver twist. Lastning beige head.opaque amber color. Mild hop aroma. Firm wood hop aroma. Firm bitterness and nice malt taste.
