Cigar City Maduro Brown Ale

A hearty brown ale that benefits from the silky mouthfeel provided by oatmeal, pairs great with Cigars.

3.1 Can from Systembolaget. Somewhat burnt aroma. Light enough in the taste to go the distance. Not bad, not memorable.
4.2 12-ounce can pours clear dark copper (nearly brown) with a 1/2" creamy light tan head and lacing. Aroma: brown sugar, almond butter, coffee. Flavor: black coffee, dark chocolate, well-toasted rye toast, black pepper, molasses. Mouthfeel: medium-bodied with a slight creamy finish (presumably aided by the oatmeal) with a lingering dryness. Many brown ales are too sweet for my preference, yet Maduro is slightly sweet with a pleasingly dryness from the roasted grains and hop profile -- making this nicely balanced for me.
4.5 @bikefellas
4.1 Pours a dark opaque brown with a creamy full slightly brown head that leaves lacing. Nose is roasted malt, coffee, dark chocolate. Taste follows. Mouthfeel is medium. Slight bitterness in the aftertaste leaving an astringency on the palate. 12 oz Bottom of the Can Reads: "147 CANNED 01/18/22@13:01 MAD DOG"
3.9 12oz can. Pours a dark brown color with a small head and some lacing. Aroma of roasted malt, nuts and chocolate. Taste of roasted malt. dark chocolate and nuts. Nominal bitterness and a dry finish. Medium body, thick, smooth and creamy. Nicely crafted.
3.7 Can from Systembolaget, Sweden. Big and lasting brown head. Clear dark brown color. The aroma is dark malty but not roasted. Smooth malty taste with a dark caramell touch. Balanced bitterness and medium body.
3.6 Can from Smokes n Suds. Deep chestnut brown pour with a thick tan head. Rich nose is roasty, nutty, light bits of chocolate. Tastes sweet and lightly bittersweet. Roasted malt, nutty, cocoa.. well balanced overall.
3.6 top of the line brown. a nice light roast, not too nutty but there's some. not my style but tasty.
3.6 Kolor cieni brązowy, w szkle prawie czarny z rubinowym i refleksami. Piana jasno brązowa. Zbudowana z drobnych pęcherzyków, tworzy wysoką, trwałą, spienioną czapę. Ładnie krążkuje. Aromat wyraźnie czekoladowy z nutami orzechowymi, kawową palonością i akcentami tytoniu. Smak delikatnie wytrawny (ciemna czekolada, kawowa paloność, tytoń) z odrobiną słodyczy w tle. Średnie do niskiego wysycenie. Ciało odczuwalne raczej jako niskie. Tekstura gładka. Posmak niezbyt długi i intensywny, palony.
3.3 Good brown ale and perfect example of the style. Medium weight. slightly sweet and nutty.
3.3 Dark ruby towards brown. No head, lasting laces. Earth and brown sugar aroma. Malty taste with some chocolate. Some bitterness lingering.
4.0 2 finger beige head. Heavy lacing. Deep ruby to deep mahogany coloured beer. Aroma of caramel, toasted brown sugar, syrup loaf and a hint of nougat. Taste of the same with a clear coffee note and a hint of dried dark fruits. Delicious. Mouthfeel is round and plump but drinks easily. Slightly hollow finish. Medium-low bitterness. Medium-low carbonation. Slightly sticky. Overall: Really solid stuff, all I want in this style. Fantastic balance and would pair perfectly with meat dishes.
3.7 Dark brown, almost black colour with a large tan head. Aroma: roasted malt, chocolate, cacao, malt, some spices. Taste: roasted malt, cacao, coffee, chocolate, some toffee. Medium bitterness. Light sweetness. Medium-full body.
3.7 0,355 l can from Scandinavian Mall Systembolaget, Stockholm. Very tasty beer after evening run.
3.0 Djupt mörkröd med fint beige skum. Doftar maltigt (?). Smaken fyllig, lite söt, tämligen besk. Eftersmaken lång och ganska besk, någon sötma, lite kaffe, kanske choklad (C19 igen 😟)
3.9 Pretty dang smooth little diddy. Could us some more ABV though
4.0 De geur is lekker vol en fruitig. Zeer donkere kleur, zelfs het schuim als je het uitschenkt. De smaak is zeer lekker, met een hint van koffie
3.3 @ Havregatan 20211217. Can (355 ml) from Systembolaget. Malty, bready, fruity and caramely with nutty notes, medium body with an oily texture. The finish is bitter.
4.2 Caramel, chocolates, red berries, and vanilla aroma. The taste is fantastic, full of the same ingredients as the aroma, but also intense vanilla espresso notes, and wonderful toffe. A great brown ale!
2.5 Snäll start av smak av sättet och havre rostad malt
3.6 Dark brown, with a minimal light brown head. Aroma of roasted malt, bread and some dried fruit senses. Some bitterness with a roasted malt, malt and some chocolate ending. Tap at Agenturet, Tromsø.
3.6 Picked this out on a recommendation of a good autumn beer. Nice aromas of milk chocolate and toasted wood. Crystal clear medium-dark brown body with a small but foamy tan head. The aroma promised a full brown ale, but the taste wasn't as full as I'd expect. Good light milk chocolate and toasted malt, but it's somewhat light as is the body which is a bit watery. The dark caramel sweetness is well balanced with whatever hops are used here. There's a bit of vanilla and a hint of medium roast coffee underneath this. Lasting chocolate and caramel aftertaste. This is a nice, easy drinking brown ale that's tasty for a fall afternoon or evening sip.
4.2 Brown pour. Thin creamy head even lace. Sweet malt flavor with lactose or vanilla finish. Easy carbonation.
3.8 Dark, woody brown. Creamy, off-white head. Aroma is hazelnut and cashew. Taste is nutty with toast. Fairly dry finish.
4.1 Appearance: dark brown; 1” head; tulip; can Taste: hint of coffee; no bitter after taste 10/1/21 - Santo Cielo (Naperville, IL)
4.1 Cigar City Maduro Brown Ale 5.5%. Reddish brown, dark malt and coffee aroma, medium bodied, dark malt, toffee, chocolate, Turkish coffee. Stunning Brown Ale from Tampa, Florida 🇺🇸
3.7 Schön röstig, schokoladig, süß, hinten Espresso, schöner langer Abgang, komplexes Finish, lecker Ding.
3.5 Pretty good, dry, not super full or complex. But cleanly made and drinkable for the low abv. And thankfully not overly americanized bitterness. Sterm ams
4.2 Can. Deep brown with ruby edges in the glass. This is topped with a dense dakr khaki head. Nose of rich caramel and pears. Hints of old leather are also present. The taste is sweet caramel and light walnut. There is also some leather along with notes of tobacco and wood in the finish. Solid for the style. A smooth and surprisingly light mouth feel.
