3.9 Big 750ml bottle shared at the Grand Tasting at the RBNG-event at Fredrik 3.’s Hall. Near black body, tan-coloured head, fragile lacing. Dark malty aromas, coffee and chocolate. Delicious well-blended taste of mocha, raisin and coffee leading to a roasted bitter ending tingled with warming alcohol. Full bodied and velvety on the swallow. One of the very best this marvellous evening at Fredriksten festning (Halden 15.02.2014).

3.9 Bottle, 75cl, at RBNG-14 Grand Tasting. A dark brown beer topped by a small, beige head. Fruity-sour aroma with with raisins and prunes. Roasted malts, coffee and a touch of salty licorice. The flavor has a pleasant malty bitterness, with some salty licorice and roasted malts. Coffee too. Full body and a soft and low carbonation. Medium dry. Sweet and salty finish with roasted malts. A really nice one, although I doubt the sourness should be as intense as this. 140215
3.5 Black body with a tiny, bubbly, medium brown head that quickly disappears. Very strong aroma with roasted notes, massive chocolate and coffee. Moderate sweet taste and quite a lot bitterness, and then there’s a light berry sourness that doesn’t do the trick for me. I guess the sourness is what makes this beer special, but i’d rather have a regular, boring, non-sour imp stout. A nice beer, but I like Bohr’s elegant hydrogen atom model better. [Sample @ RBNGA 14 Grand Tasting, Fredriksten festning, Halden ]

4.2 Bottle picked up at Hunahpu Day 2011. Viscous black pour with light brown head. Aromas of roasted malts and dark fruits. Roasted malt, raisin and molasses flavors with some coffee. Full body with syrupy mouthfeel. This beer has come together nicely with a few years on it. Had side by side with Dirac. Very similar beers but I liked this one a bit more.
3.8 Backlog, tasted 06/17/2011. Pours black, thick, with a dark tan head, fades quickly into a swirling haze, nice lacing around the edge of the glass. Aroma is cinnamon chocolate cookies, leading into slightly sweet grape and prune notes, ending with mild coffee roast. Taste is sweet, bright golden raisins mixed with dark chocolate, some spiciness on the tongue, roast bitterness in the end, alcohol not very present. Medium body, silky smooth. Pleasantly surprised, the flavors come well together here.
