Cigar City Tampa-Style Lager

Cigar City Tampa-Style Lager

This Tampa-style Lager is inspired by the traditional German-style Helles, which translates to “light colored.” Perfect for the Florida heat, it’s a beer that’s made for drinkin’ when it’s truly hotter than helles outside

3.2 Klare, gelbe Farbe mit weißer Schaumkrone. Schwach malziger und hopfiger Geruch. Geschmacklich leicht malzig, leicht brotig, getreidig, leicht grasige Bitterkeit. Leicht süß mit leichter Bitterkeit, mittlerer Körper mit sanfter Kohlensäure. Süffiges, einfaches Lager.
3.3 Can. Creamy white good mostly lasting head. Yellow colour. Moderate malty and hoppy aroma. Moderate bitter grassy flavor. Average moderate bitter finish. Oily palate.
3.3 7Sep2018 Sweet grain and cereal malts, molasses, caramel. Clear gold, small, creamy, white head. Light sweet. More sweet grain and cereal malts, caramel, molasses, soft carbonation, medium bodied. Decent for the style. Keg at BeaverEx18 - Friday session, Canada Water.
3.0 Light yellow color with minimal foam. Slightly sweet and grassy aroma. Flavor is sweet with a mild, crisp bitterness at the finish. Easy to drink.
3.2 Keg at Beaverex '18, day one, 07/09/18. Clear golden blonde with a decent off white head. Nose is pale malts, toasted grains, lemon drizzle, breads, grass. Taste comprises airy malts, corn, cereals, grass, light breads, crisp and clean execution. Medium bodied, fine carbonation, semi drying close. Resectable enough helles action.
2.8 Keg at BeaverFest 2018 Friday... Golden amber.. Thin white lacing.. Soft grassy.. Very floral fruit nose.. Grassy finish
3.2 Tap. Clear pale golden color with white head. Aroma is herbal hops, slight sugar icing, rather clean fermentation profile. Taste is slight grainy sweetness, rice maybe. Oily mouthfeel with natural carbonation. Fun!
2.6 Keg at beaverfest. Pours clear golden, nose is hay, grassy, toffee, taste is similar, sweet.
2.1 Smells kinda sweet. The can is light yellow and depicts old-fashioned brewing. Around the bottom of the can is a very pretty blue band with white wavy lines, which evoke the waters of Tampa Bay. I drank it right out of the can, and I don't care about the palate. The taste, while not as sweet as a piece of fruit, is reminiscent apples or a little strawberry or watermelon flavored hard candy. Overall, I would give it a four. I will not buy it again.
3.8 On tap at Beavertown Extravaganza 2018. Clear gold colour lasting white head. Bready aroma. Good lager. Good lemon. Clean. Not overly hoppy. Really good bread clean crisp lager. Wow. Good bitterness too. .
3.2 Can. Clear pale golden with a white head. Grain, floral and citrus peel aroma. Crisp and light. Very lightly bitter. Generally a clean standard yellow lager.
3.5 Light fluffy white head left a cover on a pale lemon coloured still body. Minimal floral aroma. Medium bodied, feels so light on the tongue with a slight tingle on the back & a clean aft. Wheat, flora & confectionery tastes with a long fruity finish
3.0 Crackery malts, apple and lemon undertones, and a barely-there floral hop finish. Grainy sweetness has hints of earth and white bread. Decent lager, but nothing memorable.
3.7 Pour from a 12oz can. Clear golden brew with white head, good head retention and lacing. Aroma is mild grain with a slightly spicy / earthy hops note. Taste is moderate bready malt up front with slowly emerging spicy hops. Ends fairly dry with a slight hops surge, nice clean spice notes with a little earth and grass emerging. Hops profile leans to the classic Euro styles - spice, grass, earth - with no infusion of american hops appearing. Though it ends dry the malt backbone is solid and remains robust while retaining the agility of a lager - translation: it ain't watery. I don't pick up any adjunct notes either. Super well crafted and enjoyable brew.
3.2 canned; courtesy of Jasmina - hazy blond beer with a moderate head retention; crisp malty and peanutty aroma, gently spicy; subtle carbonation, moderate malt backbone, light oily palate and decently bitter, spicy hoppy finish with more malt tones
2.8 On tap at Das Biergarten. Clear golden. Smells of some grain. That's about it. Tastes of a sharp grain flavor. Dries out with some grassy hop flavor. Light body. Not bad but not very flavorful.
2.8 Can. Pale gold in color with a two finger head. Really nothing special about this beer. Just an average American lager in every fashion.
3.1 28.06.2018 -- 12 fl oz can from qoqa, canned on 19.12.2017. pours a clear pale golden with a frothy head. aroma of malts, bread, biscuit, herbs, a hint of flowers. flavour of bread, biscuit, lime. ok.
3.1 12 oz. can. Purchased at HEB grocery store in Mont Belvieu, Texas. Poured clear light golden with a foamy white head. Aroma was malty, bread, light sweetness. Taste was mild sweet, grainy, breads.
3.1 Can. Canned: 05/30/2017. Pours a hazy pale gold with a skim of a beige head. The aroma features plenty of corn, dirty water, cardboard, and caramel. Goes down thin and crisp. Caramel and sweet grains upfront taste-wise. Some subtle citrus at the tail-end. Boring.
2.2 Sampled on draft at Tapped this beer poured a dark golden color with a large foamy white head that left great lacing. The aroma was sweetish, tangta ND lightly fruity. The flavor was tangy, sweet and yeasty followed by basic industrial lager notes. Long finish. Medium bodied and smooth.
3.4 Clear golden with no head.Aroma of Corn and White Bread, hops and malt nice and easy to drink beer with hint of straw and hops.
4.2 can @ home malts, light hops, bread crust balanced light lager style taste, bread crust
3.9 12 ounce can into lager glass, canned on 4/2/2018. Pours slightly hazy pale golden yellow color with a 1 finger fairly dense and rocky off white head with great retention, that reduces to a small cap that lingers. Nice spotty soapy lacing clings down the glass, with a moderate amount of streaming carbonation retaining the cap. Aromas of cracker, white bread dough, toasted biscuit, light nuttiness, pepper, and herbal/grassy earthiness. A bit of lemon/pear fruity aromas, but not overwhelming. Nice and pleasant aromas with good balance of pale malt and light-moderate earthy hop notes; with solid strength. Taste of cracker, white bread dough, toasted biscuit, light nuttiness, pepper, and herbal/grassy earthiness. Light-moderate herbal, grassy, peppery bitterness on the finish. Lingering notes of cracker, white bread dough, toasted biscuit, pepper, and herbal/grassy earthiness on the finish for a good bit. Very nice robustness and balance of pale malt and light-moderate earthy hop flavors; with a great malt/bitterness balance, and zero astringent hop flavors after the finish. Fairly crisp/clean finishing. Perfectly clean on lager flavors, with zero yeast notes present. Light-moderate increasing dryness from lingering bitterness. Medium carbonation and light-medium body; with a very smooth, moderately bready/grainy, and fairly sticky balanced mouthfeel that is nice. Zero warming alcohol as expected of 4.5%. Overall this is a very nice Munich Helles lager. All around nice robustness and balance of pale malt and light-moderate earthy hop flavors; very smooth, crisp, clean, and refreshing to drink with the modestly bitter/drying finish. Very flavorful and not watery for the ABV. Just a tad hoppier than a true Helles. Clean Pils/Munich malts and nice earthy hop presence for the style. A very enjoyable offering, and well made style example.
3.7 Can from Merchants. Aroma is corn, bread, wheat, earthy hop, slightly floral, nice. Appearance is golden, clear, off white head. Taste is lovely, earthy hop initially meets you followed by wheat and corn, somewhat tart, bready, floral, great. Mouthfeel is light body, light crisp carbonation, earthy hop wheat and bread aftertaste. Overall, a very solid Helles.
3.7 En positiv overraskelse. Dejlig frisk og velsmagende øl. Savner moget fylde som andre øl af denne type.
2.8 $2.00 can, Beer Run. Pours pale gold with a white head. Aroma is cracker, celery (so much celery), grain. Flavor is sweet grain, a hint of lime, very little else. Thin carbonation.
3.1 Draught at Taphouse. Clear golden colored with a small white head. Malty aroma of hay and citrus with notes of hops. Malty flavor of hay with notes of hops. Hoppy finish.
4.4 Smooth taste, great step up from the traditional American lager. Glad to have found this in my local GA grocery store.
