Cisco Grey Lady

Cisco Grey Lady

The name "Grey Lady" comes from the nickname for the often-foggy island for which it is brewed. This hazy, Belgian-style Wit emits a complex, earthy nose with sophisticated notes. The sift, malty mid-palate has wicked good zesty hints but gives way to a delectably dry finish. Quenching!

2.6 This spiced number poured a light yellow colour with a quick living head. Little lacing. Scents include a little clove, banana and a little hop. First swig was a little thin but had nice smooth mouthfeel. Flavours of bananas backed after by minimal hoppy bitterness. Finish is medium malty with that fruit flavour lingering.
4.2 We tasted a set that has four different beers from the same brewery. This was the best one.
3.3 Bottle from Brewtopia. Hazy pale yellow orange with fizzy head that ends up as a ring. Coriander citrus and spice. Pineapple fruity sweetness with zesty citrus and spice finish and something lingering and floral herbal that I can’t quite put my finger on. Light body slightly slick. Good but not great. Should have better head retention and a better softer mouthfeel with more internal carbo.
3.0 On tap at SLL tasting.Pours a cloudy straw yellow color with some stray chunky sediments floating around. Fizzy at first, but dissipate quickly. Cloves with some fruity esters make up its aroma profile. The taste is mild, with a clove-like something noticed. A little bit of lemon zest in the finish. Somewhat thin-bodied. Very nice prickly carbonation.
3.5 On tap at East Bay Grille in Plymouth. Didn’t even know what I was ordering. Was pleasantly surprised to get what I believed was a good hefeweissen. Full bodied, very smooth. Was surprised to see that the brewery calls it a wit. Solid beer.
3.1 Aromas of orange and spice. Flavor has too much orange, I didn’t care for this beer at all. White beers aren’t high on my list.
3.1 Pours hazy gold with white head. Aroma is clove, cinnamon, lots of spices, earl grey. Taste is cinnamon, lemon, clove, cardamom. Light body with sweet finish
3.6 Slightly hazy yellow with a white head that dissipates quickly. Aroma is of subtle spice. Smooth mouthfeel. Medium body. Nicely integrated spice flavors with a touch of citrus on a wheat backdrop. Nice beer.
3.4 Mildly citrusy and malty, beautiful hazy pour, refreshing. Very good beer!
3.1 Pale golden colour, white head. Malty aroma, straw, light pine, nutmeg. Light sweet malty flavour, orange peel and spices. Spicy finish, cloves and nutmeg. (from bottle @ GBBF ’14, London. Thanks for sharing, rb crew!)
2.8 Slightly cloudy golden colour with almost no head. Slight spicy smell. Quite a heavy mouthfeel for what is essentially a lager. Quite fizzy both visually and in the mouth. Tastes of lemons with a bitter zest aftertaste and a hint of spiciness. Not bad. (K)
3.1 Pours cloudy orange. With a head that dissipates quickly. The aroma is cloves, coriander, and spicy. The flavor is coriander, orange, cloves and some yeast, wheaty throughout.
3.6 Nose is complex with notes of nutmeg, cinnamon, , citrus and malt. Appearance is cloudy gold pouring with a bubbly 1in foam head that lingers. Taste is initially effervescent moving to a dry white wine, then finishing with citrus and malt and ending very clean. Mouthfeel is tingly, dry and crisp. Overall this is a nice complex Belgian Wit.
3.1 Bottle. Minimal head and lots of carbonation. Sour and spicy initial hit mellows to a bit of wheat aftertaste. Not my kind of beer.
3.5 On tap at Yardhouse SLP. Pours a hazy pale yellow with a head that dissipates to the edges. Aroma is full of flora and light fruit with sweet wheat backing and a hint of bitter citrus. Flavor is similar with flora, light fruits and sweet wheat throughout and a hint of tart citrus in the finish.
3.5 Aroma is like a floral perfume. Flavor is also floral, but has a decent orange taste with mild spices. Almost seems more like a radler than a witbier.
3.0 This is a witbeer? Poured a thin body chill hazed light gold with a smaller foamy bright white head. Aroma of spicy bread, perfume, orange slices. Flavor is mostly grains, chaff, toast and slight spice. This is drinkable but would not guess it a wit, maybe Belgian ale light.
3.0 Cloudy orange beer with a thin bright white head. Strong nose of orange, sugar, and urinal cake. Flavor is both sweet and citrusy with a pronounced candied orange flavor followed by some lemongrass and spice, but the sweetness lingers a bit more than it should. Decent, but it’s definitely not hoegaarden.
2.8 Bottle 12fl.oz. [ As Cisco Grey Lady ]. Clear medium yellow color with a average, frothy, good lacing, mostly lasting, off-white to white head. Aroma is moderate malty, pale malt, moderate hoppy - yeasty, spicy, light yeasty. Flavor is moderate sweet and bitter with a average duration, spicy, pale malt - wheat - herbal. Body is medium to light, texture is watery to oily, carbonation is soft. [20140813]
3.1 Pours a cloudy yellow gold with white head. Bread, citrus, and some spice on the nose; follows onto the palate. Finishes with lingering yeasty notes.
3.4 On tap at Industry. Pour a cloudy orange color. Aroma of bubble gum and spices. Not overly banana. Taste is light sweetness but very mild.
1.4 Tons of orange zest. Hints of lemon on the palate. A little piney. Some saffron and spice notes.
3.2 Totally adequate brew. Looks and feels on-style, but the flavor and aroma are somewhat muted.
2.8 12oz can from College Liquors Pours cloudy straw yellow with a small white head, some lacing. Aroma of citrus zest, herbal tea and straw. Taste is grassy, oranges, sweet malts and wheat Not a fan of this one
3.2 Interesting brew. Very evident perfume aroma and to some degree, taste. Sweet, ginger ale, hibiscus, 7-up. A little watery but something different for sure. Not bad.
3.1 Pours a clear gold with a tall white head. Aroma of spices and citrus. Taste follows-- very mild. Thin body. Just ok.
3.3 Bottle. Hazy gold in color with a small head. Aroma was citrus and spice, but really mild. Taste was really pleasant. To use a word from the description, it was "zesty".
3.6 This beer just works. Medium color and nice taste. When I’m in New England I always look for this beer to get me by
3.0 Very fruity, zesty aroma and even more so on first taste. Light bodied, dry finish. Doesn't linger much on the palate.
