An amber English-style ale that has a nice balance between hops and malt. It's the most popular of our beers and the most versatile in terms of pairing with food or people.

2.8Nutty. Right off the bat, toasty and malty but flavors. Very simple profile and on the palate, after that initial taste there is not much left. Not bad, easy drinking beer.
3.1Bottle. Nose rich in orange, grapefruit, toast and caramel malts, very sweet. Pour clear, dark amber gradient with a foamy beige head. Taste medium-bitter, lightly sweet, earthy and light woody, faintly astringent but not bad; major component is strong toast. Malt is a little flabby but there’s enough complexity to compensate, unfortunately most of the fruity hop lure has disappeared. Medium body, nicely crisp with subtle brown and amber shades and depths, finding like 15% Altbier ancestry here and larger English influence. Enjoyed. [2017.03.28: 3.1]
3.3One of a number of accumulated 12 oz. bottles that made it’s way to the back of my cellar frig, poured to a mug at home showing a hazed, orangey amber color, with some soft white froth, and wavy cling to the lacing. The nose was a bit of dankness & resin, followed by some fruitiness of citrus & pit variety, with hints of breadiness and caramel sweetness. Ditto on the flavor, a little less than medium bodied, with decent carbonation, and modest citrus & rind bitterness, accompanied by touches of tartness and dryness. An acceptable Pale with some IPA tendencies.
3.0Nice cold beer in Boston. Poured medium dark amber and little carb..ination. Got better as the drink went on. Not bad.
2.9Clear amber.
Full body, flavorful, rich mouthfeel, avg heat and carbonation, avg length.
Bitter, dry, crisp.
3.0Some citrus notes. Pours an opaque orange brown with a thin white head. Good lacing. A basic chalky taste with some light sours and leather notes. Good carbonation. Drinkable but not distinctive.
2.8This pale ale poured a golden amber with next to no head even after a vigorous pour. Scents include honey, hay and a little grass. First swig was quite smooth. Initially hoppy with a med bite bitterness. Finish is a little grassy with some caramel. Hoppy bitterness lingers on the palate.
2.2Pours a lightly hazy brown-orange with tan head. A fruity malt and spice aroma. A heavy malt with some fruits, citrus hops, and grains. A sweet malt and lightly dry grain aftertaste.
3.0On tap at SLL tasting and 12oz bottle. Poured a light copper, almost Amber with a thin head of light foam. Aroma was spicy with a sweet fruit note. Great carbonation helped bring out the bitterness of the hops very well and finished with a sweet caramel flavor.
3.3Bottle - no label taken - pours orange white head - nose/taste of malt, light hop and grain toast - medium body.
3.3Drag vat 466. Pours medium amber with a white head. Aroma is light grains, caramel, grapefruit. Flavor is light grains, light caramel, mild grapefruit Hop. Grassy bitter in the finish.
3.3Had with Blake in Boston. 5.6%, from Nantucket. Not bad, but probably could drink a few of them.
3.2Fairly lightly hopped, nicely balanced making it very sessionable for the ABV but lacking a real punch to make it interesting.
2.4Drank at the Publik House, in Chester, NJ, from a bottle. A very bland, normal everyday pale ale...not impressed.
3.6Restrained citrus aroma in a golden amber pour. A nicely balanced brew that has a different fruitbread body that seperate so it from its peers and makes for a nice change.
1.7Very light aroma. Burnt orange color and no cloudiness. Light start - tastes like an amber almost. Mildly bitter finish
2.6Can shared by Joe, thanks pal. Pours murky red with small to medium white head. Fruit punch and honey mustard notes. Brutal offering that my friend pushed back to the bar keep.
3.0Dark Amber pour. Nose is bready with mild hop notes. Taste is crisp with a slightly tart bite. Mildly bitter grassy finish. Quite drinkable.
3.112oz bottle on Cape Cod. Warm brown, thin head. Sweet fruity malt aroma. Some Amber-biscuit malt flavor, cloying. Sweet full flavor. Some bitter grainy finish. Ok.
3.112 oz can. Pours a cloudy orange colour with a small off-white head. Aroma is toasted malt, cereal, straw. Taste is is same, plus citrus and floral. It’s ok.
3.112 oz. can at Rudino’s, poured into a pint glass. It pours a somewhat cloudy orange-gold with a huge, frothy off-white head. Notes of toasted, biscuit, cracker, and cereal malts, straw, dead grass, faint citrus, and a sort of underlying earthy, floral note that’s faint but provides minimal bitterness. Light-bodied, with medium carbonation and a dry mouthfeel. It seemed just a tad old but the can had a cryptic code on the bottom, not a date. Nothing was terribly wrong, it’s just dull.
2.8Pours clear copper with low white head. Aroma of malt, rye bread, hints of citrus. Taste is light hoppy bitter with a malty rye finish. Light body with average to lively carbonation.
3.1Draught @ The Sevens Ale House, Boston, MA
Pours clear deep golden with a off-white head. Aroma has notes of malt, caramel, floral, citrus and slightly herbal. Taste is medium sweet and light to medium bitter with a long caramel, floral and herbal finish. Body is medium, texture is thin to oily, carbonation is soft.
3.1On tap at Seven’s, Beacon Hil, Boston. A clear, amber colored beer topped by a small, off-white head. The aroma is malty, bready and citrusy with some pine cones. It’s lightly bitter on the palate, with some pale malts as a backdrop. Pine cones and citrus peel. Medium to full body, dry and a tad heavy on the carbonation. Light bitter, citrusy finish. Rather boring, but sort of quenching and at least it drinks easy. 150609
3.1Bottle. Dark gold with hints of amber. Large head with nice lace. Aroma is nicely balanced. And taste is also nicely balanced.
3.1Bottle. Light amber, hazy, small to average and mostly diminishing head. Moderate, malty and sweetish aroma, light caramel - faint toffee, some floral fruitiness/light honey and light hoppyness. Body is medium, malty and lightly sweetish flavor, some caramel - light toffee with light floral fruitiness, light grassy hoppyness. Finish is average, malty and lightly sweetish, light caramel/toffee with light fruitiness, light -some grassy hoppyness. OK EPA with decent bitterness. Could be drier (with less caramel/toffee).
3.0Can from Meditrina. Clear copper with head and a little lace. Minimal aroma of biscuit caramel spice and fruit. Very pungent fruity sweetness peach apple lightly toasted caramel biscuits with woody spicy lingering bitterness. Medium body. Very assertively fruity malty. Not entirely pleasant. But not a drain pour.
