3.112oz bottle from adamharbaugh. Pours clear orange with an off-white head. Nose is malt, citrus, and some piney hop character. Flavor is some water, malt, pine, and some ephemeral malty hops. Interesting beer, but for what the label says it is a bit disappointing.
3.5Bottle, courtesy someone. Clear amber yellow pour, wet white head. Nose has bright citrus and some grassy notes, some mango as well. Tastes metallic with dry malts and some piney hops. Medium-bodied, low carbonation. Decent, I guess.
3.312oz bottle @Tampa Wkly Gathering-pours an off white head and gold color. Aroma is pine hops, secondary medium malt. Taste is pine/metallic hops with some bite, secondary medium malt.
2.9Bottle thanks to Beerman7777777. Pours a nice amber gold with thin white head. Aroma of citrus and slight floral hops, grass, and a strong malt backer. Flavor is smooth, but doesn’t have the defining characteristic I was hoping for besides a bready taste that seems out of place. Aftertaste is very pleasant of hops. Enjoyable and refreshing IPA, but nothing to hunt down.
3.2Very straightforward IPA. Very drinkalbe but nothing out of the ordniary. Grassy hops, decent malt. OK beer.
2.9Thanks ogglethorp. Pours a hazy amber with a modest, yellow-beige head. Modest lacing. Pleasant hops aroma, not in your face, but well harmonized with the bread-crusty malt aromas. Flavor is floral hops, bready malts, and unfortunately a lot of lactic off notes. Medium body, palate manages the trick of being both smooth and sparkling.
2.9Pours an amber color with a thin white head. Aroma is light hops (citrus and pine), and a little malt. Taste is like an IPA Light. Hops make a brief appearance but don’t last. Not a great IPA.
2.612oz Bottle. Mild citrus hop aromas and flavors with a little malt thrown in for good measure. Kinda reminds me of an English style IPA versus a West Coast style. The finish is mildly bitter.
2.9Rich copper in colour with a long lasting off-white head, good lacing. The aroma is of light caramel malts, some light floral hops and is a bit juicy. The flavour is only lightly hopped, some caramel sweetness, a bit floral with some citrus. Lightly bitter mouthfeel, light body, moderate carbonation. Finishes quick and light.
This isn’t the most flavourful IPA, definitely lacking body.
355ml bottle obtained in a trade with TheEpeeist, thanks Chris.

No date.
2.612 oz. bottle. Pours a solid orange color with a small, effervescent, white head. The head fades very quickly leaving a small crown around the rim. Strong pine aromas emanate from the beer. I also pick up a slight vegetative note and a hint of butter. Carbonation is medium-high with a medium mouthfeel. Lighter in body. The hop prescience is more subdued on the palate than in the nose. Mostly citrus notes with an off taste of boiled greens. Also a little in the way of bread notes. Overall it wasn’t a very impressive IPA.
3.5I thought it was a solid IPA, a little watery on the finish, but easily drinkable, and had a nice crisp hoppiness. Nothing special, but a good regular IPA.
3.512oz bottle. Pours clear amber in color with tan head. Aroma sweet, grapefruit and caramel. Taste mild citrus hops and malt with bitter finish.
3.5Bottle from Vintage Cellar. Coppery amber color with a slight white head. Aroma is resin over roasted caramel. Medium body with frothy carbonation. Flavor is resin hop and roasted caramel. It’s something astringent - at least drying - and the finish is nicely hoppy - though not strongly bitter. It feels hoppy. Not super hoppy - hoppy. It’s like hop oil is coating my mouth - but not the harsh type of hop. Suggests a bit of grapefruit after awhile.
3.2Awesome label art. Copper pour with a lasting eggshell white head. Sweet and piney hop aroma. Malty sweetness and caramel but not really enough body to back them up. Piney, resinous hoppage but not falling in line with the huge mushroom cloud on the label. Very bitter and lasting finish. It’s a solid IPA for sure but it needs more body, probably more abv and a lot more dry hopping to give a drinking experience that lives up the massive explosion of hops belied by the label. But, it’s a solid IPA (again)
3.212oz bottle. Amber, white head. Floral hops and sweet caramel aroma. Interesting hop flavor that is hard to pin down, but is mostly fruity, floral, and a bit weak. Comes off a lot like SNPA with more caramel flavor and some nutty dough in the finish. This could use a good dose more of hops, but my friends that are new to the style really liked it, so I might recommend it as a good intro IPA being that it is more of a balanced pale ale that still has some decent hops.
3.012 oz bottle. i was waiting to be blown away by this one. waterly. good hop flavor but seems a bit diluted.
2.4I am sorry... I expected much more out of this beer. Not saying it is a bad beer, but with a name like Hop-Ocalypse and having a mushroom cloud on the lable I expected a DAMN STRONG HOPPY IPA. But for being an IPA its still pretty decent beer. You easily detect the scent of fresh hops on the nose. The color is a dark copper tone. The taste had your typical hops and malt with a slight hint of fruit.
3.2Bottle from bu11zeye. Opens with the sound of a pellet gun, and pours with a huge, rocky white head and a clear orange body. Aroma of citrus hops, grapefruit, and a little bit of toffee following. Taste is boring and kind of bland, hop bitterness of a Pale Ale with a lot of malts and ice tea. Some hops towards the finish and a bit of salt. Water like texture, lively bubbles.
3.212 oz bottle. Pours deep copper with thin, tight khaki head. The aroma is freshly mown lawn, cotton candy, caramel, and citrus. The flavor is iced tea, grapefruit, and ample bitterness. It’s piney and herbal toward the finish. Decent, but it really needs more hop flavor (not just disembodied bitterness).
3.4Bottle. Average head with off-white color. Fair lacing and amber color. Hints of caramel, wood, and heavy lime. Medium body and oily texture with bitter finish. The smell was very hoppy, the taste not so much.
3.5Courtesy of GMCC2181. 12oz bottle pours a clear copper with tan head. The aroma starts with an initial grapefruit note and then moving into a region of mild pine hops and sweet to faintly roasty malts. The taste greets you with a warm embrace of moderate strength grapefruit hop bitterness. I also get a faint butterscotch note that enhances the experience. It ends with lingering grapefruit hop bitterness, mild roasty malts and faint caramel butter.
3.0Firkin @ DuClaw Real Ale Festival. Called EKG due to the fact that it was the same recipe but they used East Kent Goldings to hop the cask. Medium golden color. Herbal hop aroma. Low hop bitterness with initial taste. Nice twist on the IPA.
3.4Bottle courtesy of beachbum25. Pours copper with a thin white head. Smells of citrus, some earthy hints. Tastes peppery with some earthy hints and some mild bitterness on the finish. Decent.
3.4Copper brown with a fizzy white head. Caramel and grain aroma. Sweet caramel taste, mild bitterness, and a grainy citrus finish. Decent.
3.512 oz. bottle from Whole Foods Market Charlottesville. Clear red-orange pour with a small but persistent head and speckled lacing. Sweet malty and grainy aroma with a floral hop note. Citrus hop taste with grain, apple, and nuts. Medium body. With it’s big malts and mild hops, it remains fairly well balanced, but does not live up to its name.
3.712 oz. bottle pours a bright coppery amber with moderate amount of large off white head. Aroma is of a slightly floral hoppiness. Front palate is of malt and wheat with an increasing flavor of hops mid palate and a dry, bitter, hoppy finish. Easy enough to drink and nice on a hot day (today is 100 in the shade!) after the pool. Great with grilled burgers and fresh salsa.
4.1this was a nice IPA for me. Not too overwhelming with the hops. Smooth and delicous. The pour was medium orange, no sediment, nice lacing. It was a really nice beer to drink.
2.4For a beer that calls itself Hop-ocalypse, this is not a very hoppy beer. In fact there is not a lot of flavor to this brew in general.
2.3not too much to this beer, the hop factor is weak and unappealing. not much to drink. I cant recommend this.
2.7The aroma is like chlorinated water with grass, citrus, and malt. The appearance is amber with a small head. The flavor is like the aroma and bitter. The palate is thin. Overall it’s disappointing.
