Hoppy Feet has been lovingly crafted by combining premium malt with lots of Amarillo and Columbus hops. Grapefruit and Pine are balanced on the nose and on the palate by a nutty, dark chocolate, roasted backbone.

3.5(Bottle) Pours black with big beige head. Nice aroma - pine and roasty coffee. Medium body with good carbonation. Taste starts with a mix of sweet malt and dark roast malt; the sweetness retreats and a big hoppy bitterness emerges and mixes with dark roast and coffee bitter notes. Great black IPA.
3.4Sample @ Voldby Ølfestival 2016. Pours seethrough black with a medium brown head. Notes of roasted malts, hops, citrus, caramel, orange, licorice, chocolate.
3.6Sample @ Voldby Ølfestival 2016. Weak blackish pour with a generous tan head. Notes of roast, licorice, hoppy, grapefruit and some caramel.
3.6500, capped. Pours an opaque matte black with a dense and creamy tan head that goes away after a while. Dry piney nose, lots of ash and some darkly toasted black bread crusts. Creamy medium body with lively carb. Darkly toasted caramel, darkly toasted black bread crusts, and dry pine on the mid palate. Very drying finish and aftertaste. Very well made, but not exactly to my tastes.
3.0Bottle. Very good aroma with black domination, but still fresh. Taste is a bit dissapointing. Good in The beginning, but quickly turns to bitterness. I miss flower-ish sweetness.
4.4355 ml bottle bought at YATA in MOKO, Mong Kok.
Looks: Opague blackish brown colour with a thin ring of dirt-like yeast sediments; Two finger head with crumpety beige foam which lasts for 5 minutes; Beautiful sticky lacing with near zero carbonation.
Aroma: Very fragrant rich dark malt, with strong dark chocolate, strong coffee, caramel, strong sticky toffee, cream, grapefruits, floral, light pine, molasses, bread, yeast, lemon and grass.
Taste: Medium sweet rich dark malt, with grapefruits, strong cream, strong black coffee, dark chocolate, caramel, strong toffee, strong floral, strong molasses, pine, strong resins, spices, bread, yeast, strong lime, very strong bitter hops and sharp grass.
Body: Mid to full body. Very creamy and oozy palate.
Mouth Feel: Wholesome dark maltyness in a thick and smooth background. Massive volley of grapefruits, black coffee and dark chocolates back by creamy toffee and caramel, plus strong floral and backbone molasses well countered by strong ooze, strong bitter lime and grass. Wonderful!
Hoppiness: Grapefruits, floral, light pine, lemon and grass in nose. Sharp grapefruits, strong floral, pine, strong resins, spices strong lemon and sharp grass in taste; Bitterness is very strong for a lasting, very high astringent limey coffee malty finish.
After Taste: Fairly dry. Creamy hoppy and very bitter to mouth.
Comments: This is what Moor Illusion could have tasted like if it wasn’t wheat-thinned. Yes, this is rich dark malt at its purest, full of creamy body, great lacing, toffee aroma and rich black coffee taste, back with very limey oozy hoppiness. Bitter as hell but damn tasty. A winner!
Beetje gebrande bittere afdronk. Een van de betere black ipa’s.
3.712 oz bottle from Bishop’s Cellar. Pours a deep cola-ish born with moderate, lasting khaki head. Aroma is rich and roasty with chocolate some nuttiness and citrus. Taste is black as night with deep roastiness, espresso and cocoa as well as citrusy, grassy bitterness. Lingering roast in finish. Good one.
3.5BOTTLE. Cola black to brown in colour with thick mocha head.. Creamy nose, coffee with dark malts.. Dark malt with touch of coffee is the backbone, with the "ipa" coming at the back with good grassy, fruit hops & bitterness.. Sourced Cape Cellars
4.3For a black IPA this has stout/porter qualities. Chocolate flavours and roasted smokiness. Delicious with a hint of Amarillo and Columbus hops. This is the beer you have when it’s a Tuesday night and you’ve had a hectic day and can only have one beer but want it to be a worthwhile and not some pissweak crap. This is tranquillity beer.
3.5Bottled. Black with a beige head. Aroma and flavour of roasted caramel, malt, hops, fruit, bread and bitterness.
4.0Really dark brown color with mocha head. Aroma is definitely on the hoppy side with nice resiny and earthy notes, but you also get some milk chocolate and coffee. Taste starts really balanced with the hoppy notes and also chocolate and roasted malt. Finish is even more roasty and bitter with some coffee notes as well. Medium, smooth feeling body with soft carbonation. I really enjoy black IPAs and this one is really well made and tasty.
3.7Bottle at KØ16. Bready and vinous aroma. Very dark brown colour, small off-white head. The flavour is vinous, caramelly with a good fruity and grassy hop note. Good mineraly mouthfeel.
3.3pour black with a frothy offwhite head. chocolate, and light caramel aromas, taste light sweet, medium bitter. medium bodied, average carbonation, long bitter finish
3.0Pours a black. Large rocky tan head. Lots of lacing. Fruity hoppy aroma. Very astringent. Lots of patent malt flavor. Not much of a hop flavor.
3.6Rating from old records. From can in IPA glass. Pours black w/tan head, piney citrus hops over roast dark choc malt, firm bitterness.
3.5@cafe bizzaro. roasty, resin, floral, brown, clear, frothy, tan foam, medium sweetness, very bitter,
3.3Nice layer of frothy dark head. Darkest of browns. Bottle pour. Malty, piney, roasted flavor.
3.7Pours a deep dark orangish amber color. Aromas of big hop action, sweet malts, and more hops. Flavor has some caramel malty tastes with nice grapefruit and floral hop taste.
3.4Copenhagen 6/5 2016. 35,5 cl bottle (12 oz) from Meny. Fellow enjoying his Hoppy Feet with his feet in the air on the label. Looking very peaceful. Pours very dark brown with huge light beige head. Settles as creamy crown of foam. Several centimeters thick. Lotsa lacing on the side of the glass. Aroma is sweet overripe fermented fruit. Peach, mango and a little grape fruit. A little roasted malts in there as well. In addition you get the feeling that it contains a healthy alcohol percentage. Soft carbonation and slightly thick palate. Flavor has subdued sweetness followed by medium to strong bitterness. Aftertaste is not particulary long and medium bitter. Do not know exactly what I expected from a black IPA - but this one is pleasant enough on a sunny afternoon.
3.6Bottle 12oz. Pours dark brown with off white head, good lacing. Aroma of fruits, grapefruit, citrus (oranges), roasted malts, hint of flowers. Sweet taste with notes of sweet fruits, hops and grapefruit. Some bitterness with notes of pine in the aftertaste. Medium body and average carbonation.
3.9Bottle pour into tulip glass from Greg & Jane’s Beer and Wine. Aroma is roasted malts with hint of anise, chocolate and pine. Appearance is virtually black but dark ruby red with light source directly behind, finger width creamy beige head with no sparkle and mild lacing. Taste is balance of sweet and bitter roasted malts with light chocolate and hint of anise and pine as in aroma. Palate is medium bodied with light, thin texture, lively carbonation and pleasant roasted bitter finish. Overall, more on the roasted, malty side than a true balance between the sweet malts and the bitter hops. The contribution of the hops is more for bitterness than flavor. Could be a little thicker.
4.130-MAR-2016, bottle @home, from Meny.
Dark brown with a high off-white head.
Aroma is roast and hops with a clear smoked note as well. Meaty, peated.
Taste the same. As it warms or perhaps as I get used to it - the smoke becomes more faint and the malt more obvious. Chocolate. But still also the pine and grape fruit. A tad over carbonated. Smooth, bitter. Very nice.
3.912 oz bottle picked up at Central Ave Liquors for the opening weekend of March Madness. Consumed with commonshawn. Black in color with a healthy amount of tannish head. Aroma includes plenty of roasted malt notes, a little chocolate, and some citrus hoppyness. Taste has initial peat like elements but gives way to a nice bitter, dark chocolate quality that leads the drinker into a pleasant, lingering finish. There is also a fruity note like grapefruit or peach. Slightly ash towards the end but nothing that overwhelms the palette. There is a definite bite influencing the mouthfeel...seems to avoid drifting into silky, smooth territory. It’s a good rendition of a black IPA and one I would direct the uninitiated towards. My feet are tapping to the beat of this Clown Shoes effort.
3.9Pours a satin black with a large foamy tan head that quickly settles to low. Aromas of chocolate, roasted malts, peach, citrus, grapefruit. Taste is a happy (hoppy?) medium between fruitiness and roasted chocolate notes. Mouthfeel is medium boided with quite a substantial carbonaition. Good stuff!
3.7Nearly black with thick beige head. Mild roasted aroma with light licorice notes. Roasted malt and sweet licorice flavour, good hoppy bitterness to balance. Nice.
3.7Mahagony dark brown with a frothy light tan lasting head, good lacings. Aromas of chocolate-nut cookies, herbal, floral, peppery, piney light fruity, orange zesty and grassy notes develop. Very fine carbonation light slick with a light-medium body. Roast chocolate/coffee sweetnesswith clear light floral fruity rather herbal hop bitterness. Roast malt finish.
3.4Bottled 11/6/2014. Damn Merchants. Aroma is all malt, as most old IPAs smell, earthy hops, not much else. Appearance is dark dark brown, light tan head. Taste is roasted malt, earthy hops, actually isn’t all that bad. Deep rich flavor. Mouthfeel is medium body, crisp carbonation, lots of roast in the aftertaste. Overall, for a beer that’s old as fuck, this one is pretty good. I’d like this fresh as I imagine it’s really good.
3.30,33l bottle at home from trade with Zakoon, big thanks. No obvious BB date. almost black color, medium big tan head. good lacing. smells of citric notes, some licorice, some parfume, light spices, cloves, hints of vanilla, bitter chocolate, nuts. decent smell. full body, medium carbonation, slick mouthfeel. tastes of resin, some licorice, grass, coffee, hints of grapefruit. finishes lightly roasty with notes of licorice and light resin notes. decent stuff, quite a lot of carbonation though which probably rather improves the beer, overall limited flavours but possibly my bottle is also not so fresh.
2.6En rigtig god IPA, den har noter af frisk humle, og har en lille smag af brændt malt i eftersmagen.
