4.0 650ml bottle, pours hazy orange gold with a small white head. Aroma is heavy on the caramel, with very piney hops and orange. Finish is bitter and long. Carbonation average. This one works for me, very nice.
4.3 660ml bottle from Archive Beer Boutique. Great beer and another great label from these guys. Always eye catching and always great beer.
3.8 22 oz Bomber. The beer pours to a mostly clear copper color. The aroma has a strong citrus, floral, & resin scent to it. The taste is medium body & has a good bitter finish. Overall a very very good IPA.
3.6 650ml bottle from Valhalla’s Goat. Hazy amber brown, reasonable head. Mild sweet hop aroma. Big spicy grain hop flavour, smooth with sweet aftertaste. Would prefer it to be not so strong but not bad.
3.0 Hazy orange with white head. Aroma is musty malt. Taste is bitter and a little sweet in the back.
3.6 Kind of an orange color, somewhat hazy, nice slightly orange head settled into a quarter inch cap and left nice lace. Definitely pungent in both aroma and flavor, piney, hop resin, some grassy and floral notes, with a solid malty backbone. Body is medium with medium carbonation, with a lingering pine resin and malt note. Overall it’s interesting, quite a malt-bomb of an IPA, but I did enjoy it. I’d be interested in trying more from this brewery.
3.5 Draft at Falling Rock Tap House, served in a pint glass. Pours a mostly clear orange color with a finger of off-white head. Lots of caramel and toasty malts balance some piney, citrusy, resinous hop notes. A bit of spice, too. Light-medium bodied, with a malty, resinous mouthfeel and moderate carbonation. Solid IPA.
3.9 (bottle 28 /08-2013) low beige head, slightly unclear amber color, hoppy caramel aroma, medium co2, long hoppy taste. Bottled 02/2012.
3.9 Bottle @ home while watching the Athletics World Championships. Clear medium to dark orange color, medium sized white head that leaves good lacing. Aroma is heavy malty, hoppy, lots of pine, resin and spruce. Taste heavy malts, lots of pine and resin, some hops, medium to heavy bitter. Medium to full body and carbonation. Nice beer without a doubt, but I miss fruityness of grapefruit or tropical fruits. The bitterness is there but I’d like it to be a bit more fruity.
4.1 Clear golden colour, white head. Aroma of hops, lots of hops. Tropical fruit, melon and apricot. Hop bitter flavour, light sweet malts, bitter backbone. Finish hops, tropical fruits. Lingering bitter. Nice! (From 75cL bottle shared @ ZZT-ish VIII / BBT I)
3.3 Bomber at home. How is this not classified as an imperial IPA? Burnt orange color, good lacing, rocky head--beautiful beer. Nice strong aroma, simple and to the point. Bitter sitter. I mean it’s good, but the aftertaste is a little strong compared to the rest of the profile, and it doesn’t offer much in the way of floral or herbal tastes, in my opinion, it’s just sharp. It’s clean, though. There isn’t much here that sets it apart from the crowd, it doesn’t justify the hefty price tag.
3.8 Bottle. Pours hazy deep golden with a creamy off white head. The aroma is lots of citric and exotic hops. Backed up by a good caramel backbone. The flavor is sweet hoppy with notes malt and exotic fruit, pine and spruce. Great.
3.9 Bottle@ZZT8: BBT1: Thanks to the lads DutchDrebus, IluvatarMilan and Martinus: Medium sized off white foamy head on top of an almost clear orange colored beer. Aroma is like a DIPA: hops, cream, floral, herbs, soap, grapefruit, Flavours of fruit like apricot, light peach, hops, floral, bitter, light creamy. Very nice and easy drinkable. Aftertaste is fruity, bitter, floral and hoppy. Low carbo, soft creamy mouthfeel, medium to full body and creamy texture.
3.9 Bottle @ ZZT8:BBT1. Hazy orange, lacing white head. Smells hops, pine, sweet, apricot. Tastes hoppy, sweet, apricot, bitter.. Could be a bit more refreshing. Medium body, soft carbo.
3.7 Bomber->SA. Hazy orange with medium offwhite head. A: floral hops, citrus, sweet malt. T: resin and citrus hops, pine, grapefruit, sweet malt. Sharp, bitter, chewy. Very good.
3.6 Bottle. Poured copper with a creamy off-white head that left good lace. Aroma and flavor of caramel and floral. Medium body and medium bitterness.
4.0 Bottle @ tasting. Aroma is huge piney resiny fruity malty caramel madness. Flavour is piney resiny big fruit madness, medium bitterness. Long lingering fruit and hop bitterness.
4.0 Bottle @ home. Hazy orange pour, thin white head. Aroma full of pine hops, grassy and floral, fresh and full. Flavor is fruity sweet malty and quite bitter in the finish. Huge hoppy and smooth. Great ipa.
3.6 Short-lived yellowish head, cold hazed orange-ochre beer. Very aromatic hops, fruity, bit resiny, orangezeste, grapes, passionfruit, grapefruit. Bitter, metallic, resiny, but also fruity. Again grapefruitt-:orangezeste. Not much malttbackbone; parsley retronasal. Bit light body, light slickness, quite spritzy. Light - if not in ABV - pleasing IPA.
3.7 Tap at Falling Rock. Full disclosure: buzzed from beers I bought and shots people around me bought. I don’t think that changes me rating, though. Light amber color with and amazing cream colored head. Laces the glass with styrofoam spray where beer used to reside. Mild skunk weed aroma. Taste is malty and hoppy but not a tremendous amount of either.
3.6 Bomber. Clear dark gold with a tall head. Lots of sharp hop aroma with a bitter taste that is strong but not too much. Very good IPA
3.7 Pours dark amber with a fading head. Nose shows lychee, peach, orange blossom, pine and sweet cookie dough-like malt. Nice. Pretty aggressive flavours. Not much malt, just a soft clean hit. Lots of pine and grapefruit. Sharp aggressive bitterness in the finish. Soft carbonation could be higher.
3.2 Bottle. Sweet caramel malt, apricot, and orange hops aroma. Hazy orange with a moderate off-white head. Piney orange peel hops and caramel malt flavor. Medium body, soft carbonation. Yet another solid predictable IPA
3.3 Bottle. Light orange pour, soapy light head and an aroma of herbal hops. Flavor is also slightly herbal medicinal oranges and hints of caramel and nuts. Hmm, price wasn’t terrible at $6/bomber, but I won’t be back.
3.2 Bottle. Orange, pine, and orange peel aroma. Golden yellow with moderate head. Sweet orange and moderately bitter orange peel/quinine flavor. Not bad but nothing that jumps out at me.
2.5 Bomber, love the label, pours a hazy orange with a fluffy white head. Aroma of resinous pine, hops, a bit of oxidation and diacetyl. Flavor is buttery, some bitter hops, and the finish is a bit metallic. Bummer.
2.5 22 oz bottle. Pours slightly hazy golden copper with a big rocky white head that retains well and laces the glass. The aroma is sweet sugary melon and dank piney peppery hops. The flavor is is a let down - earthy grassy bitterness, a little sugary fruit, and some cardboard notes. The mouthfeel is light bodied and very watery. Overall, I was excited after pouring, but the flavors are not bright and a bit off and it’s really watery.
3.1 Pour out of 22 oz bottle, clear to slightly hazy orange-amber pour with lasting white head, aroma brings notes of caramel, toffee, more grains, biscuit, vanilla, slight orange, grapefruit, marmalade type notes, touch of lemon, earth and spice. Taste is a mix of sweet orange, lemon, biscuit, bread, some hints of caramel, toffee, grain, finishing earthy, spicy, this is kind of like a well done ESB vs an IPA.
