Clown Shoes Tramp Stamp

Clown Shoes Tramp Stamp

Like a stamp on a tramp, this beer is about not so subtle seduction. Soft but complex malts, Chambly yeast, sweet orange peel, Columbus, Amarillo, and Centennial hops have merged to create a bodacious Belgian IPA.

3.3 Bottled 355ml (As Monastic from Systembolaget Umeå) Slightly hazy orange color, good white head and some lace. Aroma has citrus, fruits, white pepper and yeastyness. Medium-bodied. Citrus, white pepper, pineapple, Belgi yeasty in the flavor. Slightly bready too. Orange peel (light rubberish notes) in the aftertaste. Modern IPA-Belgi yeast -hybrid. Ok.
3.5 Solid IPA with Belgian assertations, but certainly with an American hoppy kick to it. Complex and powerful...
3.0 Yellow to orange. Huge frothy head. Hoppy flavor with lots of yeast, belgian style, and some more acidy hints, citrus, fermented fruit etc. Bit sweet, bit bitter, bit refreshing, bit stale. No hit.

Hops, light malt, hints of wood and yeast. Sweetish as it warms, and with a vinous note. Flavour is fat, hoppy and fruity with a light citrusy note. Medium bitter finish, fat, malty and fruity, with a spicy hint. Light yeast note as it warms. Lingering light grassy note. Overall good, solid. 26.08.16.
3.2 Bottle. Light golden, average and mostly diminishing head. Moderate, malty - lightly wheaty and lightly sweetish aroma, some floral fruitiness, some herbal hoppyness. Body is medium, malty - lightly wheaty and lightly sweetish - sweetish flavor, light - some floral fruitiness and some herbal/citrus hoppyness, faint alcohol. Finish is average, malty and lightly sweetish, light floral fruitiness some herbal/citrus hoppyness, faint alcohol. OK bitterness but I am not a fan of these "Belgian twists" in well hoped brews.
3.6 355ml bottle, 7 % abv, many thanks to Finn. A creamy pearl white head that stayed well over a next to clear golden body. Crocheted lacing. Good hop fruit aroma of pineapple and grapefruit. Fruity flavours of grapefruit, pineapple and mid-sweet orange, additional hints of bread and herbal hops. Bittersweet ending. Well bodied. Pleasant (Tromsø 20.08.2016).
3.4 Bottle (systemet, just ’monastic’ 7). Orange hazy. Belgy yeasty spices, some hay, orange peel on nose. Med bodied, dry spices, dry malty, bitteroranges, dry fruityness. Pretty ok belgian ipa. Dry fruity, belgy character. Clean. -- rated with beerbasher/winphone Earlier Rating: 9/25/2012 Total Score: 3.5 Bottle. Pours nicely amber, clear. Nose has a very peculiar fruityness; pineapple, mango, exotic fruits, but also a greenish quality (currants?). There’s also some yeast esters, belgian in style. Body is nicely full, bitter. More of the belgian esters, fruityness. A bit fruit-tea like actually. A very fruity ale with a intriguing mixture of flavours. Not bad, but perhaps a bit too much all over the place to be drunk regularly. The bitter / over-extracted tea-bad finish doesn’t sit well with me.
3.4 Bottled: Hazy amber with a large, thick head. Aroma is floral hops, goose berries and nettles. Dry flavour with notes of floral hops and nettles. Long bitterness. Earlier Rating: 4/9/2016 Total Score: 3.6 Bottled: Hazy amber with a large, thick head. Sour aroma with notes of floral hops, yeast and berries. Very floral hop flavour with a long, big and dry bitterness. Not too shabby, perhaps a bit simple.
3.5 Citrus, bröd, karamell, sötma, jäst, lagom besk. Väldigt god och fräsch men ändå smakrik.
3.4 Bottle from Systembolaget. Clear golden with off-white frothy head. Foam retention is excellent. Nose is immediately Belgian and hop aromas and citrusy. Quite nice and soft mouthfeeling with resinous hop character sliding into good bittery finish. Medium carbonation. Combines Belgian and IPA quite nicely, I’d say it’s Belgian forward and IPA finish.
3.8 Bottle 12fl.oz. Poured into a shaker. Almost clear medium amber, tall frothy off-white head, half-way lasting, good lacing; citrus nose, pale malts, orange, tangerine, light pine, cereals; smooth taste, medium sweet and bitter, light malty, citrusy, piney, bit dusty; dry bitter aftertaste, fruity and piney, spicy notes; medium body, creamy texture, soft carbonation; well-balanced, fruity and smooth ipa, quite pleasant.

3.2 caramel, bread, hay, roasty, citrus, herbs, cheese, leather, golden, cloudy, white foam, medium sweetness, medium bitterness, medium body, creamy, soft carbonation, long finish, bitter,
3.4 Bottle. Creamy white good mostly lasting head. Yellow colour. Moderate bitter flavor. Herbal mango notes. Lacks finesse. Long moderate bitter finish. Oily palate and too fizzy.
3.5 The beer is somewhat obscure and dark yellow red color. The foam is white with medium bubbles that come in fine just the right amounts. The foam disappears in good pace and leaving little trace. The fragrance has a spicy presence with little hops tones. Clove arrive well with pineapple and mango. A little peppery, with grass aromas. There is little smell of yeast and some herbs. In the taste, then hops up a little more, but you’ll find clove quite simple. Some fruits such as pineapple, grapefruit, mangoes, citrus in the right order. A little pepper, spices, pine, coriander little bread and straw. The beer has a certain bitterness highlighted that it is a little sting of pepper and a little lemon in. Medium rich body. Good with carbonic acid, good spiciness. Moderate marked bitterness at the end a little dry.
3.4 On bottle from Systembolaget Strømstad. Golden color, good foam. Medium aroma intensity; hops, caramel, malt & toffee. Medium/ high body & complexity. A little on the sweet side. Enjoyable
3.8 Cloudy, orange body with a creamy, off-white, long-lived head that laces the glass well. Sweet, fruity, hoppy and strong aroma of tropical fruits (mainly peaches, but also traces of lichee), and light Belgian yeast. Also raspberries in the back. The strong flavour profile is a bit simpler than the aroma profile, but it’s crisp, tropical and citric with a nice Belgian yeasty touch. Light sweet taste with a long-lasting moderate bitter finish. Medium body, dry texture and quite lively carbonation. A not-that-powerful DIPA that still works very well. [33 cl bottle, enjoyed 9 months before BB date, from Systembolaget Kungshamn, Sweden]
3.3 Bottle pours in amber with firm head in of white. Nose is clearly Belgian and with some hops. Taste is malty sweetness with the same significant yeast and light bitterness. Palate leaves some hops and also yeast. Pleasant beer on a hot summer day but still not the wow-feeling.
