Cobra

Cobra

Cold filtered. Previously 5.0%. Originally contract brewed by Charles Wells for Karan Bilimoria. Production moved to Burton in 2009.

Cobra is made from a complex recipe of seven ingredients and then expertly brewed with fewer bubbles to give it a sophisticated taste. Spicy pure hop oil is used to create unique aromas and flavours, whilst lower carbonation delivers a smooth flavour. It is the perfect companion for any dish, from anywhere in the world.

Lord Karan Bilimoria founded Cobra Beer in 1989 to create a drink that had the smoothness of an ale and the refreshment of a lager. The Cobra range is brewed with a complex recipe and lower carbonation to perfectly accompany all food.

2.5 Aroma of fruits, malt and straw. Golden with a white head. Medium sweet and medium bitter. Medium body with average carbonation. Dry finish. Overall an OK Pale Lager.
2.3 # 2782; 3/2022. Light malty aroma, slightly grassy. Brilliant straw body; white head with low retention. Malty and floral, hay. Below average lager, 0,62 l, bottle, supermarket, Lincoln (Lincolnshire, England).
1.1 Lombok Utrecht
2.5 the aroma: malty, herbal, shades of grain, straw, grasses... the taste: malty, floral, notes of grain, hay, herbs, flowers... the aftertaste: dry, herbal...
2.4 As far as lagers go, this one sits quite nicely with me, absolutely associated with curry houses and very refreshing (and cooling) even if it does lack a great deal of character. Pours a nice clear pale gold, plenty of carbonation apparent, and a frothy white head, with minimal aroma, just a hint of light malt and fruit. It's grassy and floral, with hints of sweet malt and a dusting of hop bitterness
2.3 Industrial pale lager made in the U.K. primarily for the many Indian restaurants there; strange I never rated this beer before, as in continental Europe too, it is a familiar sight on the menus of Indian restaurants (which is also where I sampled a bottle). Snow white, thickly moussy, stable, membrane-lacing head on a crystal clear pure and deep golden blonde beer. Aroma of wallpaper glue, unsweetened popcorn, breakfast cereals, vague notes of grass and iron, cotton cloth. Sweetish graininess in the mouth, clean with very fizzy, even numbing carbonation adding minerality; thin, smooth cereally middle with popcorn-like associations as well as a faint metallic edge. Does develop a bit of grassy bitterness in the finish, even more so than is averagely the case in standard pale lager, but it feels a tad ‘chemical’ too. Not the worst in this particular, broad segment for me, but it has only that bitterish touch to thank for it.
2.5 Appearance: clear gold with a large white creamy head of perfect retention. Aroma: faint grain, fruity hints. Taste: light sweet, light to medium bitter. Grain, wormwood and grass. Mouth feel: light to medium body, average to lively carbonation. Overall: nothing different.
2.4 Barwa złota, klarowne, piana niska, w miarę trwała. W aromacie i smaku zielone jabłko, ruski szampan, słód, nieco ziół. Wytrawne, lekko mineralne, wodniste, mocno gazowane. Jak na lagera, nie jest złe.
2.0 Numerous pints whilst waiting two hours for our curry at Cafe Safron, Shrewsbury. Clear gold. Lightly sweet lagery aroma. Thin bodied, and fairly light lager character.. coming across more 3.5% than the stated 4%, which is common practise for this brewery. Passable, but suited the occasion.
2.7 Bottle in Lisaboa. Pours golden color, white head. Aroma of malty, grainy. Taste is medium sweet, lightly bitter, malty, grainy.
2.2 Bottle 330ml. Clear golden with a thin white head. A very standard lager of medium bitterness and lightly sweet. No real faults but rather low om character.
2.2 Clear pale golden with a moderate and fast diminishing white head. Both aroma and mouth is in mainstream light lager style. Good balance of sweet and moderate bitterness. Easy drinkable.
2.0 Almindelig pilsner
2.4 Clear gold with a decent white head. Faint aroma - grassy and grainy. Well carbonated. Standard commercial lager, tending to the sweet side. Honey and biscuit, minimal bitterness. Ok, nothing special but perfectly drinkable.
2.6 330 ml bottle. Pale gold colour with white head. Slightly sweet flavor of the lager. The taste is slightly sweet, subtle spicy flavor, slightly bitter.
2.2 It’s ok ish
Komlót azért szerencsére kapott érezhetően, a kukoricás émelyítő édességet elnyomta a komlókeserű, ami jó pont.
2.5 Old
2.4 One of the better mass produced lagers in my opinion. While it doesn't do anything special, it is supremely refreshing and extremely easy to drink. Has a pleasant, citrussy, grassy finish to it, as well as a pleasing hoppy hint.
1.0 No sabe a nada. Supuestamente cerveza india.
2.5 Ik dacht een oosters biertje te nemen bij m'n late oosterse maaltijd. Komt het gewoon uit Engeland... Matig, vooral door eerdere bieren...
2.9 Old rating from 2014 - 330ml bottle, 5.0ABV. Pours amber with a white foamy head. Aromas & tastes of grain, bread, herbs & malt. Moderate body. Short sweet moderate bitter finish
3.3 Smakar lager utan anmärkning. Bryggt med bl a ris. Lite kolsyra, vilket framhäver smaken på ett sätt som behövs. Helt ok men ingenting spännande.
2.1 Kicsi, gyorsan eltűnő hab, világos borostyán szín.Tipikus nagyipari, kissé édeskés, lágeres illat. Lágeres, picit édeskés, leheletnyit fűszeres ízvilág. Könnyű, lágy, enyhén szénsavas, enyhén keserű. Tipikus nagyipari láger.
4.0 Strong flavour. Nice smell. Overall rather nice
2.0 Starts off sickly sweet with pear and apple on ricey malt like some bog standard macro Euro swill, then suddenly flips halfway to a thinner, lime infused metallic bitterness. But then the sickly sweet pear juice comes back in the after taste. Crikey! One's enough, thanks, mum.
2.3 Dobře pitelné sladové pivo. 0,33l lahvové ideální doplněk k indickému jídlu v restauraci, nicméně na samotném bych si asi uplně nepochutnal.
3.2 Accompanied my curry very nicely. Drank it straight out of the bottle rather than poured into a glass. High carbonated.
