Coisbo Astoria Black (2012-)

Coisbo Astoria Black (2012-)

5.0 A danish, deep black imperial stout with dark brown head. Aroma is coffee, roasted, malt, light prune, light walnut? Taste is bitter.
3.8 Black with tan head, Aroma is a lot of cocoa, some hazelnut and soy sauce. Even more chocolate and nuts in the taste. Body is medium, bitterness is rather low, sweet finish. Not too intensive beer, it’s good but not amazing.
2.3 Shared bottle at Mi2 Extended at Cardinal 06.06.16. Ebony. Small brown head. Heavy aroma of roasted malt, wood and pine. Woody taste - roasted malt, juniper and pine, with hints of dried fish. Lingering aftertaste of burnt wood, liquorice and roasted malt.
3.6 Botella. Presencia negra opaca con corona beige poco densa aunque persistente. Carbonatacion media/baja.
3.3 Ciekawy stout, mam wra?enie, ?e wyj?tkowo wytrawny. Alkohol dobrze ukryty, a smak rozlewa si? po podniebieniu.
3.6 Literally black, smaller stable tanned head; solid dry and bitter leathery, coffeeish and toasty nose, some lost caramel in the background; solid dry bitter-sweet flavour, full bodied and a bit tart; moderate to solid dry malty-bitter and mainly coffeeish finish with a faint sweetness in the very end. A very beery espresso. Delicious…
3.2 At a tasting, thanks, creamy bubbly brown slightly dense head, very dark brown color, aroma of vanila, dates and dark toasted bread, flavor of chocolate, charred wood and charred aubergine, a tad on the light side. A bit bland and one dimensional, fair.
3.5 Can sample at a tasting at troubles’s place. Thanks Max. Black with a tan head. Aroma of roast, ash, coffee, licorice, a spicy note. Flavor has light sweetness, roasty, with coffee, chocolate, ash, a licorice note, and a bitter finish. Medium to full-bodied, rounded. Nice.
3.9 Really black with dark brown head and malty chocolate nose with a touch of coffee. Taste is magnificent and palate leaves a longlasting taste of rich dark notes malt, coffee and choc. Some warn notes left behind...
3.3 Bottle. Black. Malt, roast, hints of fish (!) and coffee in the aroma. Malty sweet coffee flavor with hints of salted licorice. Thinnish. Not unpleasant.
4.3 33cl bb06/2016, Maruhn. - Elegant dark brown, blackish pour with chocolate head. Well-rounded juniper and red berry arabica roast, rich bitter chocolate. Deeply satisfying version of that in flavour for its 7,2%, praisable for its espresso restraint and luxurious dark chocolate - hop notes providing supporting exotic accents in the back. Very delicate balance between espresso - dark fruit - liquorice charred bitter - chocolate sweetness in a tightly composed spectrum. Will revisit.
3.9 Bottle at Ministerstwo Browaru. Aroma: Chocolate and licorice, hint of fruity hops, quite intensive, very pleasant. Appearance: Black, very good creamy head: high, nicely created, good lacing. Taste: Chocolate with good-quality coffee, notes of fruit (mostly hopy, maybe some dried plum), nice roastiness lingering on the palate, medium bitter. Palate: Finish is dry, carbonation is low, body is full although it could be more "mouth-filling". Nice classic RIS.
W aromacie suszone śliwki i kawa. W smaku paloniść i kawa, potem. Wyraźna goryczka. Zostaje lekki palony posmak. W posmaku gorzka czekolada. Świetnie zbilansowane. Alkohol dobrze ukryty. Wysycenie niskie.
3.6 Bottle, 33 cl. Black body with a persistent and foamy brown head. Full roasted malt aroma with alcohol, liquorice and caramel notes. Moderate malty taste with light sweetness and a minor tart note. Fairly bitter, but without any hoppy flavours. Notes of liquorice and roasted malt. Tasty, although not nearly as rich as I would expect an imperial stout to be. Medium body with soft carbonation and a smooth mouthfeel. Long, bitter finish. This stout is certainly above average, but it is not as exciting as I had hoped. It is not imperial in any way, either.
3.5 Sensoric. Bottle. Pitch black with small, light brown, densed head. Medicore head retention, poor lacing. Roasted malts aroma - ashy, some coffee, very raw, also some liquorice. In the second raw some dark fruits and chocolate. Taste is semi dry and medium bitter. Medium to full body, soft carbonation, thick texture, finish is semi-dry and lightly bitter. In overall not perfect RIS, rather little above average, but still worth trying.

4.3 En af de bedste stout overhovedet. Øllen har en god balanceret kraftig smag.
4.8 Piana drobna, beżowa, bardzo trwała. Pięknie koronkuje. Kolor czarny, nieprzejrzyste. W aromacie suszone śliwki, trochę likeru. W drugiej nucie paloność. Śliwki bardzo mocne. Lekko słodkie. Trochę palonego ziarna. Lekka nuta alkoholu, ale nie jest nachalna. Daje poczucie mocy, ale nie jest nieprzyjemna. W smaku nuty palone, potem krótka ale wyraźna goryczka. Zostaje lekki palony posmak. Znów pojawiają się śliwki. Troche nut likierowych. Gorzka czekolada. Posmak gorzkiej czekolady.
