Collective Arts Stranger Than Fiction

A full-bodied porter with plenty of roast flavours as well as hints of molasses and chocolate. Ridiculous amounts of chocolate and pale ale malts make this porter smooth and creamy.

3.5 Nice roasted/slight smoke initially that then blends into a smooth chocolate finish. Light porter that is not too heavy.
4.1 This can is coming from Amstein, St-Légier. Opening and enjoying this beverage yesterday, at Epalinges, preparing the meal for Mireia, Christian and family. A perfect and classical porter. The thing that you can expect with a brown/black body, well balanced, subtle with smooth and yeasty notes of roasted malt, sidr of nuts, coffee, cacao, regular hop at the final, an art of life.
3.9 It pours dark brown with a light brown head. Head retention is excellent. It has roast aromas with chocolate , cherries, and plums. There are plenty of roast flavor with chocolate. There is very low molasses. It also as very low cherry and plums notes. It has a creamy texture and medium bitterness. There is a small amount of sweetness in the finish. Overall, plenty of roast, but not overdone. The other element blend well.
3.3 Pint at Vauxhall pours an opaque black with some creamy off white head. Nose has cocoa and malt and marzipan, some brownie dough. Flavors all follow. Creamy and sweet finish.
Snygg
3.2 Czekolada deserowa w lekko wodnistym wydaniu. Puszka ładna, ale smak bardzo ubogi, poza czekoladą lekka, wytrawna goryczka i gładkość, ale brakuje ciała i czegokolwiek charakterystycznego. Poprawne, ale do zapomnienia.
3.8 Gott. Bra törstsläckare. Tänk guiness
3.4 Can.Pitch black colour with medium beige head.Aroma of cocoa and coffee burnt malt and chocolate nice creamy and mild finish.
2.9 I cannot put my finger on it, but this Porter tastes a bit flat. It almost feels as if it was watered down. The usual Porter aroma is present, not not too strong.
3.4 Smell is dark roasted malt..almost burnt...has a bitterness to it because of that....one dimensional of burnt malt, no lactose, mouthfeel is decent but very straightforward ...finishes lightly bitter...had at Liz's place at the end of Thanksgiving break...(where she reminded me that my low rating might be because I don't like dark beers) chilling and watching Rocketman...as US covid deaths 777k
3.7 0,5l can from Systembolaget Råå, enjoyed @ Laajavuori. Pours very dark brown with a low head. Aroma is sweet roasted malts with some coffee. Flavor is sweet roasted malts, coffee, hops. Quite good.
3.3 Pours black with large beige head. Roasted malts, coffee, daek chocolate some licorice notes. Fully body and somewhat oily texture.
3.6 Intensywny aromat gorzkiej czekolady. Barwa czarna, średniej wysokości szara piana, zbita. Smak gorzkiej czekolady, nieco rozwodnione, obecność bardzo deliatnych kwaskowych nut.
3.9 Chocolate, liquorice, smoke and vanilla. Well balanced between sweetness and bitterness. Lasting roasty finish
3.7 On tap at Ginger Man NYC. Pours dark brown with a beige head. Roasted malt, dark chocolate, coffee notes, ash.
3.8 Pours opaque nut brown with some red in it. Tight, 3-finger beige head. Nutty and roasty malt aroma with a bit of smoke. Medium body, maybe a touch of oil. The finish is long, with a touch of dryness. Roasty malt flavor with some smoke in it. As it warms, a touch of bright citrus shows beneath.
3.7 473ml can. A dark brown beer with a beige head. Aroma of mid sweet dark roasted malt, nuts. Taste of dark roasted malt, nuts, chocolate, cookies.
3.2 Pour is a black with a small tan head. Aroma is a minor roasted malt and some molasses. Flavor is some burnt sugar and molasses. Finish is a bit sweet but there is a little chocolate left on the tongue. Not a world beater but a decent enough porter to check out.
2.9 Black with a huge foamy brown head. Roasty and bitter with anise, floral hops and chocolate. Very long finish. Medium body.

2.9 Porter med lite besk eftersmak
3.4 260 ml draft at Freehouse. Appearance is a dark brown black pour with a finger of light tan froth. Aromas are mild and understated, roast, a little coffee and nuts. Taste is a little dry, no strong roast flavours, but a good dose of nuttiness. Medium bodied. Overall, a well made porter.
3.4 pitch black colour, one inch of dense and long lasting beige head; aroma and taste of heavy roasted sunflower seeds and nuts, almost burnt toasted rye bread, ash, some dark berries and licorice notes; correct one
3.9 Burk. Svart med ett beige skum. Dofter av kaffe, aska, vanilj och rostad malt. Desamma återkommer i smaken tillsammans med en lättare lakritston men framför allt choklad. Rostad avslutning, halvtorr munkänsla.
4.0 Pours almost black, with a dimishing, tan head. Black metal logo lacing. Roasted aroma, sweetish, with light notes of vanilla, coffee. Flavour is the same, a wee bit tart. Light metallic overtone. Bitter coffee finish. Roasted. Lingering light grassy note. A wee bit too much carbonation. Overall pretty good, well-balanced. The aroma works a bit better than the flavour. 26.12.20. 330ml draft into a bottle from lowcostbeer. Black pour with a reasonable looking thickness, small tanned head, nice retention. Aroma of roasted malts, sweetness, chocolate, treacle, coffee. Taste is multi-layered with above mentioned notes, its sweet but with a roast-bitter finish to offset. Medium bodied but rather than smooth and soft carbonation instead we have a slick palate and a zingy to frothy carbonation but it really gets the flavours around the palate. Interesting, this is really good.
4.0 Pours black/dark brown. Nose is coffee, plums, chocolate, roasty notes, Mouth is dark bread, coffee, chocolate, honey Excellent mouthfeel, with a lightly bitter finish. Great and complex and one of the better I tried in this range of alc. vol!
3.6 473ml can at the Battle of Bull, Cheras, Selangor, Malaysia. Poured a clear dark brown colour with a thin broken off white head and some clingy lace. The aroma is roasty malt, light ashtray. The flavour is moderate to light liqourice bitter, with a rich, slightly oily, roasty, liqourice, dry ashtray, light sweet chocolate palate. Medium bodied with soft carbonation.
3.5 Deep dark brown coloured body with a nice two to three centimetre tall tan head that fades very quickly. Aroma of roasted malt, oatmeal, grain, caramelised sugars and a big dose of nuts and earthiness towards the end with a burnt molasses and chocolate scent. Medium-bodied; Strong rich earthiness noticeable up front with a lot of grainy malts showing some oatmeal and molasses notes along with a big hit of chocolate and a bit of cherries along with a slight dose of acidity, but this one really shows the lactose and creamy notes, especially at the end. Aftertaste shows some earthiness, a touch of hazlenuts along with more of the peanut and almond flavoured nuts along with some earthiness and a solid breadth of sweetness from caramelised sugars to toffee and molasses. Overall, a nice and dry porter with a lot of oats and graininess showing through with malts stronger than any sugars or lactose, but a solid robust profile that is still fairly easy-drinking and deep. I sampled this sixteen ounce can, purchased from Whole Foods in Arlington (Clarendon), Virginia on 06-May-2020 for US$3,29 sampled at my house here in Washington on 16-February-2021.
3.4 Can from BCL bought in February 2021 for $3.66 CAD. Attack: big crisp fizzy tingly Mids: bitter roasted malt, light roasted coffee, lvl4-sweetness Finish: chocolate malt exhale, roasted bittersweet malted hop exhale. Overall: very balanced and well made. Standard porter flavour profile done well, not terribly exciting but solid.
