2.9 Bottle at home thanks to deanso. Dark brown with some yeast in it and a nice dark beige head. Looks promising. Light earthy notes, dried figs, raisins, cocoa. There’s some moldy herbs and watery alcoholic notes. There’s definately some nice malts going on here, but the moldy and earthy notes in the background ruin that a bit. Medium sweet with some alcoholic bitterness. Medium bodied with watery feel. Not very good.
3.3 31/12/2016 - 33cl bottle @ Pieter’s place, Aalst. Dark brown, no real head, just a small rim. Nose is malts, licorice. Taste is dark malts, caramel, some fruits, licorice, a bit earthy, dry.
3.2 F: big, light brownish, good retention. C: pale red-brown, hazy. A: malt, grassy-floral, caramel, candy, bread, brown sugar. T: malt, caramel, honey, chocolate, coffee, molasses, maple syrup, medium body, normal carbonation, good, sample @ Zottegem Beerfestival 2016.
3.3 Drunk from 33cl bottle bought from the beer discovery project. Enjoyable dark ale.
3.3 330ml bottle from a holidaying friend. Pours clear red brown with a thick beige head. Aromas of demerara sugar, cream, hazelnuts. Taste is light sweet, nutty, light liquorice. Sweet finish.
3.5 From bottle at Moskus in Trondheim with UKM people 28.06.16. Chestnut brown. Diminishing, pale brown head. Aroma and taste of rasins, dried fruits and dark syrup.
3.2 Dark brown color with mocha-colored head. Light aroma of chocolate and malt. Taste is fruity with a medium bitter hop taste.
2.3 Brune artisanale de 6,5 % abv, refermentée. Couleur brun roux, nette. Bulles fines partout bien vives. CONCLUSION : que dire de pareil assemblage ?
3.7 330 ml bottle. Clear, deep ruby red body with a big, lacing off-white head. Nice aroma of chocolate malt with a hit of dark fruit and yeast. Flavor is smooth, crisp dark malt, mild chocolate and moderate bitterness. Very smooth and balanced. Nice body with a fine balanced aftertaste. Tasty, smooth and pleasant all the way.
3.7 Bottle from Beer Dock, Crewe. Pours dark plum red brown with light tan head. Prunes, spice, easy drinking dark ale. Nice aroma, not sure why the low ratings. Good stuff.
2.6 Deep brown with creamy tan head. Dark fruits, some biscuit and hint of roastiness in the aroma. The taste is initially quite sweet with toffee and dark fruits like a quad, then a sharp grassy and metallic hop bitterness which transitions to a light sourness. Medium bodied and acidic. Starts off well but the finish really doesn’t work for me.
3.2 ath home dark brown black coloured body with a off white head a roasted mout coffee caramel aroma a roasted mout coffee dry bitter taste with a alcholic bitter finish
1.5 0.33L bottle. Pours black with a big tan head that lingers leaving strong lacing. Aromas are strange: basement aromas, stinky cheese, some caramel. Flavor goes pretty quickly to roasted malt bitterness, with some of the cheese flavor coming through. Otherwise, surprisingly little flavor. Fully body with a thick mouthfeel and active carbonation. Overall, a strange beer. Aromas unlike anything I’ve had, and flavor profile is muted and not much going on. Not very pleasant.
3.4 Alone at home. Dark brown colored beer with small off-white head and only few carbonation visible. Malty chocolate hinted aroma. Full sparkling palate. Finsh is malty sweet bitter hinted with a rather bitter ending.
3.4 Tasted as Valeir Donker but also as Carlos, an aliased version for the former mayor of Asper. Light beige, creamy, thick and stable head, colour very dark brown with a burgundy hue. Soft sweetish aroma of chocolate, candied dates, pear, caramel, cinnamon, hazelnuts, whiff of coffee. Delicately dark malty taste, sweetish but not cloying, nutty, bit chocolatey, finishing in bitterish hops and a hint of toasted bitterness; the biggest downside for me is the rather thin mouthfeel, otherwise a fine dubbel.
3.4 33cl bottle courtesy of and shared with Kermis. Thin creamy off-white head. Hazy amber pour. Nicely done. Very drinkable.
3.7 Bottle shared. Pours dark brown with a thick tan head. Aroma of caramel, deal fruits, leather, tobacco and light soy. Flavour is over moderate sweet and light moderate bitter. Medium bodied with moderate carbonation.
3.7 33 cl. bottle sampled @ Barley Legal Tasting Room. Thanks to Kraddel! Dark ruby brown. Sweet liquorish, herbs & berries nose with light soy sauce. Tastes of sweet liquorish, herbs, berries, leaves, faint soy sauce. Rich enough body, interesting stuff.
3.9 Pours redbrown Bit of a gusher . Good white head . Smell is sweet , chocolate . Gently , balanced taste , some fruity notes . . Nice
3.4 Quite average Belgian dark ale. Sweet and yeasty, with a taste of malt, fruit and herbs.
3.8 Pours a slightly cloudy reddish amber with a thick mop of white foam on top. Nose is fruity and yeasty. Very creamy on the palate. Taste is of yeasty bread, some cherry and apricot notes, with a brown sugar sweetness. A good Belgium brew that pairs well with fruit, nuts or cheese.
3.2 nice sweet light alcoholic aroma, amber, hazy, off white foam, light sweetness, lightly bitter, light body, oily feel, soft carbonation, long finish,

(Rating #5214)
3.0 Brune claire, effervescence moyenne, dépôt en suspension, mousse tombe rapidement. Malts caramel rôtis, amertumé réglissée, fruits noirs. Rien de bien spécial, que du classique...
