Bottle in 2012. Hazy brown with a beige head. Aroma of dried fruit, maltloaf, toasted nuts, caramel and dates. Fairly sweet malty flavours up front, with some roastier bitterness in the linger.
Thuis uit een flesje, de 2017 versie. Troebel bruine kleur, weinig lichtbruin schuim. Caramel in het aroma, ook in de smaak. De smaak neigt naar een hoog abv, veel meer dan de 7,5. Ook licht bitter in de nasmaak. Gemengde indrukken.
Tastes lightly liquorice-like and malty. But it is two years old, and tastes a little oxidized. But underneath, I think there is a good beer hiding if younger and clear. belgian beer factory online
Hazy light brown with white head. Smell is dark fruit cake, brown sugar. Taste is candied nuts, candied cherries, strong hoppiness, high fg sweetness and bitterness, caramel-coffee. Body is good, seems wheaty. Good and slightly exceeded expectations.

Vôňa alkoholova jemne kava. Farba hnedá. Chuť karamelova alkoholova a kávová.
Flasa z Pivni Mozaiky. Vona silna, horkasta, alkoholova medova. Farba jantarova, kalna. V chuti kava, karamel, alkohol.

Pours hazy amber. Strong alcohol on nose with malts. Tastes coffee, caramel, warming alcohol. Very nice.
I have really enjoyed the two previous releases but find this offering way below par. I have tried hard to like it but can't, just tried again and cant get rid of the bad taste.
330ml bottle from Isetan, KLCC, Kuala Lumpur. 2016 vintage. Poured a hazy medium to dark amber colour with a short-lived fizzy off white head. The aroma is toffee caramel malt, light boozy alcohol, red berry fruits, woody hop. The flavour is moderate sweet with a rich, grainy toffee caramel malt, warm alcohol, fruity, light floral hop bitter palate and a lingering alcohol bitter finish. Medium bodied with soft carbonation.
Vynikající a podle mě lehce podhodnocené pivo. Rysy klasického a typického anglického ale piva, nicméně se liší tím, že v chuti je toto pivo hodně suché, se silným sladovým tělem i výraznou pikantní hořkostí. Výsledkem je velice gurmánské a chutné pivo. (y)
2018 bottle. Poured brown with some yeasty chunks, small head. Smell of some dried fruity esters and taste follows with a nice finish. Suprisingly good.
From Saveur Biere. In Teku glass. Playing Avernum 4. 2005 Vintage. Pleasantly malty, caramelly, with a noticeable alcohol touch but nothing unpleasant, just giving a word of caution. Fine but lacking punch
2002 Vintage sitting in the back of the fridge for who knows how long. Poured a deep amber color with a smaller sized off white head. Caramel, some fruits, and all around malty and still drinkable.
I loved this beer, expected an ordinary traditional output. What I got was a beer that bettered new craft beer and I started to look forward to when going to the bottle shop. Before craft beer Coopers made the best beer in Australia with their Coopers Clear in the 1990's. Coopers Vintage 2018 release is the best beer in Australia easily.
03-08-18 // bottle from Maruhn. Unclear light brown. Small white head. Nose of dried fruit maltiness. Taste is rich malty, caramel and toffy, hints of dried fruit. Solid bitterness in the end.

Aromat to mocna słodowość, trochę karmel, troszkę alkohol. Wygląd to kolor herbaciany z bardzo gęstą pianą zostawiającą wyraźny lacing. W smaku bardzo słodowo, ale smacznie, w tle karmel, może troszkę suszone owoce, np. rodzynki, no i dość mocno alkoholowa, ziołowa goryczka. Średnie wysycenie, dość mało ciała. Piwo nieco zbyt alkoholowe, "atakuje" podniebienie. W smaku mniej złożone niż się spodziewałem, głównie mało przełamana słodowość. Średnio pijane. Mimo tych wad, całkiem niezłe piwo. Szczególnie jeśli ktoś lubi mocno słodowe piwa.
33.5 flesjes. Vlokkig gisttroebel amber kleur, fijne romige cremeachtig schuimkraag. De geur van karamel en gedroogd fruit. Smaak is zoet, karamel, licht rozijnen en licht citrus. Medium lichaam, veel koolzuur.
Cloudy orange beer, standard carbonation, stable beige head. At nose caramel notes, raw sugar and some burned butter ones coming from the yeast. At palate medium body, several malt flavours, with a rather sweet flavor and aftertaste. For a strong ale, I think it fits quite nicely the style.

2007 vintage. Lots of tawny port flavour. Very dry, thick body. Still in reasonable condition...ish. Some deep umami, raisins and roast beef. Sort of like a belgian lite. Toffee. Possibly slightly oxidised and not in perfect condition after all, but it grows on me.
Très belle bière ambrée cuivrée troublée, très petite mousse beige qui se dissipe rapidement tel un Barley Wine... Pour information, mon exemplaire est millésimé 2015, donc il était possible de la laisser vieillir encore quelques années... Le nez est magnifique, avec de fortes notes de fraise, de pomme cuite, de banane, de caramel, de miel de fleurs, de sirop d'érable, de cassonade, de cassis, de grenadine, de noisette, d'amande, de pruneau, de croissant chaud... Des arômes pleins et gourmands qui me rappellent certaines Abt/Quadrupel et Tripel Belges (De Dolle Oerbier, Millevertus Papesse...). Surprenant d'avoir ce genres d'arômes sur une Vintage Ale de type Anglaise ! En attendant, il me tarde de m'enfiler ce breuvage dans le bec. La bouche est assez ronde, l'alcool sobre mais investi, texture ferme avec une pointe de sécheresse, l'amertume légère à l'attaque mais probante sur la déglutition, levures épaisses, collantes, carbonatation moyenne, sucres légers et du corps. Ce qui me surprend le plus, ce sont les notes boisées et végétales. Elles sont intenses, surtout en rétro-olfaction et rappellent des grandes bières élevées en fûts (Straffe Hendrik Quadrupel en fût d'Armagnac par exemple, l'alcool en moins). Petite pointe d'acidité boisée qui se marie bien avec l'amertume, toujours aussi intense sur le final. La longueur est bonne, avec une montée graduelle du bois en bouche et des notes d'herbes (coriandre, pissenlit) et de paille avec cette connivence lointaine avec le vin jaune du Jura. On retrouve vraiment le côté Vintage Ale en bouche, ce que le nez ne laisse pas soupçonner, et c'est là toute la beauté de cette bière qui saute du coq à l'âne, le tout avec élégance et pertinence. Le final est un poil plus court et limité que le reste, et c'est là la seule faiblesse toute relative de cette magnifique bière. Un véritable plaisir ! Bouteille 33cl, Boissons du Monde, Saint-Egrève.

2017 Vintage. Hazy light copper. Aroma medium low pineapple, pear and red apple. Low caramel. Taste medium caramel, bready malt. Pear and red apple with following pineapple and citrus and raisins at the finish. Some earthiness. Slightly grassy. Firm bitterness. Medium full body. Medium low alcohol. Drying finish. Should age well.
