Coronado Idiot IPA

Coronado Idiot IPA

It doesn’t take a genius to kno w quality West Coast IPAs require a stupid amount of hops. A generous blend of Nugget hops and the four Cs—Cascade, Centennial, Chinook and Columbus—brings forth a myriad of tropical fruit flavors and a brawny, persistent bitterness that makes for a highly intelligent brew.

3.9 Narancsos szín, közepes, tartós hab. Déligyümölcsös, túlérett mandarinos-narancsos illat. Déligyümölcsös, citrusos, fenyős ízek. Közepesen testes, közepesen szénsavas, erősen keserű. A keserűt jól ellenpontozaa a gazdag gyümölcsössége. Nagyon finom, jó egyensúllyal rendelkező IPA.
4.0 Beautiful deep golden color with white lasting head. Nice tropical aroma..guave pineapple. Great flavor up front bitter but not overly biting. Again a real tropical flavor from the hops as well. Lingering hops on the finish. Really nice beer.
4.1 Bottle. Clear golden color with creamy white head. Aroma - Hoppy, pineapple, grapefruit, grass. Taste - Juicy, bitter, no alcohol detected, fresh fruit - peach, mango, grapefruit, nice tropical aftertaste.
4.0 Tasting 3/5 at the Coronado brewing companY, day 2 :-). Amber coloured with a white head. Great aroma of hops. Intense bitter taste, great beer which lasts long.
4.3 I enjoyed this brew on the same day that I enjoyed Islander. Like that brew, Idiot employs a lot of American C-name hops and whole helluva lot of West Coast attitude. Orange color. Citrusy, piney, resinous, and pithy nose. Dank flavor with massive wet pine needle and grapefruit zest flavor. Its bitterness will impress the hopheads and piss off about everyone else.
3.8 Bottle thanks to MisoW. High bitterness, moderate caramelly sweetness. High hops character, zesty citrusy fruityness, resiny. Grapes. Very good.
3.7 Bittle kindly shared by MisoW, many thanks. Orange golden color with medium white head. Aroma of citrus hops with oranges, tangerines, zest. Taste, caramel malt, citrus hops with oranges, tangerines, zest. Medium long hoppy bitter finish. Alcohol is dangerously hidden. Good.
3.5 Bottle from pivný raj. Pours golden color, white head. Aroma of citrusy malt, caramel, orange. Taste is sweet, very malty, orange, caramel, tangerines.
3.7 bottle a golden yellow colored beer with a white head aroma malts citrus fruits spicy grapefruits pineapple caramel and bitter hops flavor malts citrus fruits spicy grapefruits pineapple spicy and bitter earthly hops
3.5 Nose of pine and a bit fruity, middle body, a bit sweet in mouth. Very fruity palate with a bit of an undefined touch for me, close to apricot but not apricot. Bitterness is strong but fades very quickly.
3.4 Bottle. Slightly hazy orange color with white head. Aroma is bubblegum, resinous, piney. Taste is resinous. Sticky resinous finish. Medium carbonation, long aftertaste. Nice enough.
3.7 Bottle. Pours almost clear golden. Aroma is chewing gum, resin, tropical fruit. Body is medium, strongly bitter, lots of resin flavour. Decent residual sweetness. Long palate, fruity. Good, probably a bit too old.
3.9 Tons of hop flavors, mostly in the range of tropical and citrus fruit. Present on the nose, the palate and the finish. Juicy, with a quenching palate as well as a nice drying finish. Looks great in the glass: copper hued and lacy.
3.8 Nez: Agrumes, résineux, floral Bouche: Caramel, pamplemousse, zeste d’orange, résineuse, florale, épicée, amertume franche, légère sécheresse Une bonne IIPA agressive
3.2 Clear golden color. Nice floral smell and aroma of fruits. Taste is fruity with citrus and orange. Even high IBU the bitterness is nice balanced.
4.4 dès l’ ouverture de la bouteille on peut sentir une odeur de bord de mer assez déconcertante .au goût on retrouve une grande complexité de saveurs dominée par l’ amertume Excellente bière
3.7 On tap at the Tap room Bangkok. Thick creamy white head. Hazy amber pour. Lovely bitterness.
3.4 Reading the label led to dashed high hopes. When I tasted this, I thought it was just another IPA. It’s deceptively simple to drink, despite the 8.5% which will eventually creep up on you. 12 oz. bottle pours a slightly hazy orange/amber with moderate off-white head and very little lacing. Aroma is not obvious, but mostly tropical fruits and floral hops. Taste is bitter, but not excessively so. Body is medium with average carbonation. I would have rated this higher if they didn’t call it "Imperial".
3.8 (Bottle) Amber colour with frothy, off-white head. Malty, hoppy nose with orange peel, marmalade, apricots, treacle-toffee, grapefruit and fresh floral, citric hops. Malty, hoppy taste with notes of orange peel, apricots, treacle-toffee, grapefruit, caramel, some hay and a generous citric bitterness in the finish. Medium body, with a certain sweetness. Well balanced IIPA, with a generous citric hop presence and lots of caramel/toffee malt. Very nice.
3.4 Bottle pour into nonic pint glass from One Stop Market. Appearance is clear golden-amber with trace sparkle, less than finger-width foamy white head with poor retention and minimal lacing. Aroma is tropical fruit, candied sugar, citrus and light resin. Taste follows aroma. Palate is light-to-medium bodied with thin, foamy texture, soft-to-average carbonation with mix of sweet and bitter finish. Overall, appearance and palate we profoundly average and the hop mix in aroma and taste is good but flirts gets precariously close to industrial cleanser scent.
3.9 Poured from bottle into shaker. Color is a foggy yellow, like three day old piss. Most excellent. A finger’s thickness of head that quickly dissipated left nice lacing. Smell is grapefruit and oranges, hops, mowed lawns, and pure sweet California sunshine. Upon tasting, bitterness sensationalizes my tongue. Slick mouthfeel. Piney hops and clean citrus are not overpowering but utterly drinkable. All in all a sexy IIPA.
3.9 from the Barrel - hazy dark blond beer with a little foam left; nice lace; aroma of almonds, marzipan and oranges; sweet and full-bodied, rounded and clean palate; some bitterness yet very well-integrated; malty, fruity and marzipan finish - pretty nice and dangerously drinkable
3.9 On tap. Red gold color. Aroma: sweet nectar, malt, fruit, white port wine, raisins, little flowers and hay. Taste: sweet nectar, pale malt, with citrus, bitter white port wine, fruits.
3.9 Bottle. Sweet and bitter. A very tasty IIPA. Fruit; berries and apples, candied hops and malts. Smooth and biting. Great stuff.
3.4 12fl oz bottle @Irreale, Madrid. 13-04-2015. BBD: 12/2015. Batch: ZBCOID1. Pours quite clear dark gold with nice white head. Moderate head retention, some lacing. Malty sweet, fruity nose. Medium body, average carbonation, some crispy texture. Taste is moderate bitter, malty, fruity, sticky mouthfeel, Some sweet aftertaste. Little boring.
3.2 Fra fat 25 Nov 16. Aprikosfarget. Uklar. Filmskum. Lett & god fruktaroma. Smaken fersken & tørket frukt. Gjennomgående litt syrlig. Behagelig øl.
3.7 Couleur dorée; mousse blanche; arômes et goût maltés et fruités; bière un peu trop douce avec finale moyennement amère
4.9 Amazing IPA. Highly attenuative yeast produced a crisp, refreshing brew with light caramel color and piney hop flavor.
4.1 From a 12 oz into a St Bernardus glass. Pours gold with head and lace. Aroma of amber malts, dank fruit. Significant carbonation and mouthfeel. Flavors of rich grains, bright malts, tropical fruit rind, grapefruit juice, subtle tangerine. Overall rich, bold, flavorful.
3.5 Orange yellow clear with a white head. Tropical fruit resin hops aroma. Resin bitter slight malt tropical fruit flavor. Sticky medium body. Does a little of everything but no real identity.
