Ingredients: Caramel, Pilsen and Munich barley malts, and Saaz, Kent and Hallertau hops

3.5 Smaakt wat licht maar is wel lekker
3.9 330ml bottle from Beers of Europe (£2.79) Very dark mahogany, bordering on black with a thick, foamy head that's beige with outstanding retention. Sweet & slightly malty, some alcohol but plenty of caramel & toffee but it's balanced too. The taste is similar, there's maybe a touch more alcohol showing but it's sweet & sticky with lots of caramel again & some nice bread malts. It's a medium bodied, smooth & softly carbonated beer that's boozy but still seemed easy to drink.
4.6 Love it. Great balance and deep flavors
3.6 Ruby appearance. Aroma is malt, toffee and sugar. Flavour is brown sugar, toffee, malt, bitter and sweet.
3.7 27/06/20 @ Heideaard
3.5 07.06.2020: 330 ml bottle at home, 6.5% ABV, bb. 5.11.2022, bought at Drinks of the World, Bern. Pours a chestnut brown with a beige head. The aroma is medium malty and lightly to medium yeasty - toasted malt, bread, caramel, spices, fruity yeast notes, dark fruits, brown sugar. Medium body with a fizzy carbonation, a light to medium sweetness and a light bitterness. The flavor is similar to the smell with lightly sweetish toasted malt, bread, caramel, some honey, some brown sugar, raisins, dried apples and light spicy yeast notes. Finishes with residual malty sweetness. Overall a nice straight Dubbel, could be a bit thicker, good. Aroma: 7 Appearance: 4 Taste: 7 Palate: 4 Overall: 13
3.3 Lekker donker biertje.
3.9 Very dark amber colour with rich but not lasting beige head. Aroma of dried fruits, dates, jam, little roasted malts, bread. Taste mostly sweet, roasted malts, dried fruits, as someone stated slightly cola. Creamy. Very pleasant.
3.9 Colore arancio, schiuma persistente. Aroma agrumato. In bocca caramello, sapore piacevole ma appena troppo dolce.
3.4 0.33 l bottle from Vrutak Zagreb. Shared with little Dina. Very dark brown, small off-white head. Prominent dried fruit aroma such as dates or raisins, like caramelized or roasted fruit and nuts. Dark fruit such as blackberry jam. Light syrupy malts underneath. Finally, brown bread. Hints of chocolate or cocoa. Lots of dried fruit in the flavour, quite sweet, somewhat metallic, roasty even burnt, charred wood. Although it has a chewy character and medium body, finish is light and almost abrupt. Slightly messy, maybe unbalanced but rich nonetheless.
Dobry dubbel
3.6 0.33l bottle from Belga Sörmester. Dark brown body, coffee brown head. Darker than other dubbels. Head fizzy, not very persistent, but laces remain long. Moderate aroma of cocoa and roasted malt. Later some minimal sourish fruitiness detectable. Starts with strong carbonation and fizzy palate. Taste is malty, mildly roasted, cocoa, caramel and nuts detectable. Moderate bitter aftertaste, bitterness coming from roasted malt. Well composed, mostly on the malty side, lacking fruitiness. Enjoyable but somewhat different from other dubbels.
4.0 N:spezie, frutta sotto grappa,legg fumo G:frumento,legg acido, caffè
3.7 Brown with a big head that soon dissipates. Medium body and slightly nutty flavour. Some creaminess makes it easy to drink. Pleasant but not a s good as it high score indicates it should be.
3.5 0,33l bottle. Pours dark reddish brown with huge tanned head. Dark fruits, spices, fruits. Something I havent tasted before in the finish. Pretty good.
2.3 Un goût de miel est présent au début de la gorgée, un arrière gout ressort
3.1 33 cl. bottle @ home, served in a teku glass, due date: 2022/07/24. Aroma: powerful aromas of spices, flowers, cola, caramel, dark dried fruits. Appearance: dark to very dark brown color with beige to light brown and very creamy foam made of tiny to small sized bubbles, high head thickness, medium to high retention, medium to high Brusels' lacing, medium retention. Taste: medium sweetness, low bitterness, low sourness. Flavors of cola, spices, caramel, hints of dark dried fruits, licorice, molasses. Balance is toward the sweetness but balanced for the style and not cloying. Mouthfeel: medium body, silky to slightly oily texture, medium to high carbonation, long sweet finish with medium sweetness and the same previously mentioned flavors. Alcohol is very well hiddden and only noticeable because of its mouth and throat warming. Astringency is very low and barely noticeable. Overall: good appearance, powerful aromas and flavors of cola, spices, flowers, caramel, dark dried fruits, licorice, molasses. Quite sweet but not cloying. Probably it would be better with less carbonation and more layers of flavors.
2.8 Not a very interesting 'dubbel'. A bit light, thin of taste and no pronounced flavours. Some subtile fruits. The mouthfeel is quite full though. Easy drinkable. But a bit of a disappoint to be honest.
3.7 Bottle from Belgiuminabox. Pours a very very dark brown almost black colour with a large foamy beige head. Nice lacing. Aromas of dry dark fruits, caramel, toffee, molasses, bread, candi sugar and hints of banana and liquorice. Taste is all the same notes as the aroma with an added touch of chocolate and peppery spice. A little watery, light bodied, fairly oily smooth mouthfeel with a slightly dry finish. Pretty good dubbel.
3.5 Molto buona, scura, bella schiuma, affumicata, saporita e non stucchevole
3.3 330ml bottle from Beers of Europe and drunk on 12/11/2006. Slightly tart flavour on this with a sweeter finish. Interesting. Not my favourite dubbel, but good all the same.
3.3 Lekker biertje
3.7 Barwa brązowa, klarowne. Piana średnia, redukuje się dosyć szybko. W aromacie słód, lekkie melanoidyny, drożdże. W smaku dużo fenoli, piernik, biszkopt, suszone owoce, zwłaszcza rodzynki. Przeszkadza zbyt wysokie wysycenie, goryczka oczywiście niska, ciało średnie. Dobry dubbel.
3.6 Corsendonk delivers a true to style Belgian dubbel that puts a fantastic raisiny malt at the center of the beer with herbal notes and yeastiness behind that. Some wine notes and dark chocolate in there as well. There is a nice rise in bittering hops at the end keep it all in balance. Carbonation is relatively high with a pronounced wash at the end of each slug. It's a pretty beer too with a deep red mahogany capped with a thick beige head. Complex, but approachable, and surprisingly chuggable.
3.6 I have purchased this beer, at one shop, place de l'Aligre, Paris. Drinking and savouring this beer, at.home, in Prélaz, october 2018, during the meal. In my point of view, it is an average dubbel, opaque brown body, normal carbonation, white and brown foam. You get notes of malt, bread, nuts, some sugar, hop at the final, it coud be more aromatic.
3.9 I was pretty sure that this beer must be great because i love the style and it seems very serious beer outside despite the great ratings all around the world. Also i expecting to be little more heavier like the "La Trappe dubbel" and not slightly watery.. Anyway this beer remind you very much the "Chimay Red". It is watery (Slightly light for the style) and has some extra bitterness on the taste and the finish.. The watery and punchy taste with the big carbonation not satisfied me like the great finish. The finish is really very good and remind you one classic "Belgium" beer.. Overall a decent beer.. I prefer the "Dubbel" beers to be little heavier like "Wastemalle" and "La trappe" but still like that this beer is pretty good. It hit you very well on your palate and give you great mouthfeel..
