Old Yankee Ale is a medium bodied, American Amber Ale, that has a great up-front malt taste with a refreshing hop finish.

3.1From the 12 fl. oz. bottle. I do like the label. The color is medium caramel amber with a modest , lingering off-white head. It has the look for the style. Aroma is nondescript basically with a touch of caramel malts, biscuit, and mild hops but nothing jumps out. The body is light to medium. In the flavor the hoops tend to butt into the caramel and sweet malty character I get at first. Nothing extraordinary here.
2.0Aroma - faint biscuit malt and some spicy hops
Appearance - body is amber, the liquid on the hazy side, the head sets up white and about 3/4" and starts to settle
Taste - slightly bitter, some soapiness about the taste, a caramel malt is present.
Palate - the body is light, the texture thin, the carbonation lively on the palate, the finish is somewhat astringent, again a somewhat soapy quality about the beer, which I find unpleasant.
3.0Pours Amber with an off white head. Malty aroma and flavor with a mild hop finish.
3.1very smooth taste, my wife loves it which means I will buy it frequently for her.
4.0The beer has a great dark brown, reddish hue that passes through very little light. The beer pours great with a nice creamy off white head and has good lacing on the glass. The beer is well carbonated and the head lingers on 5 minutes after I poured it. The smell had a nice earthy smell, dark roasted malts, a hint of chocolate, and a smoothe caramel finish...a good blend. The taste follows the smell to a T, it has a nice roasted malt taste with a good caramel finish with a hint of chocolate lingering around. The mouthfeel is decent with the smokiness of the malt lingering and the taste of the carbonation and caramel. Overall, this is a great beer (and I am not a fan of chocolate) from a brewer that I have never expereinced before and I am interested in the their other offerings now. Recommended.
2.9Pours amber with a foamy head that slowly fades to top film. Smells a little musty, like old biscuits. Taste is a bit bitter but the malts come through. Fairly full-bodied. Okay brew. Not a favorite.
3.4Nice reddish/copper color. A well-balanced english style ale. Some biscuit and bready malts. Enough hops for a little kick, but overall it doesn’t leave a strong impression.
3.1Certainly a decent representation of the style. However, it was lacking freshness and snap. A little muddled and oxidized with some strong cardboard flavors coming through. I would seek this out to try on tap, if I am in the area again (was at Charlestown brewfest)
2.8From notes: Poured hazy orange-amber with a 1-finger, off-white head. Biscuity malt aroma with touches of citrus and yeast. Medium body, just a touch oily with a mild finish. Flavor of orangey citrus with some caramel malt beneath.
4.2A really nice amber ale here. So smooth and creamy malty flavors on it. I picked up a 6-pack in CT the other weekend and was very pleased with the results.
3.0Poured amber with off white head. Malty aroma with medium body. Decent English style ale.
2.012oz bottle. Pours dark cloudy amber with nice white head that disappears quickly. Initially a big bright hoppy aroma. Flavor flat. Nice medium body and foamy effervescence. Clean aftertaste. Overall, unremarkable.
2.4Bottle. Pours a bit cloudy, copper color with thin white head with lots of carbonation. This was a single, not sure the date, so it may be old. Aroma is citrus. Malt up front with a bitter finish that is a bit metallic. Average at best.
2.4Bottle. This was a pretty boring amber with not a whole lot to it. Don’t see myself picking it up again.
3.112 Oz. Bottle. Cloudy Amber brown with light off white head. Aroma is strong of caramel malts. Sweet toffee like taste, not really bitter kind of watery and easy to drink.
3.4Aroma is earthy malts and a hint of sweetness. The flavor is fruit/strawberries, malts and a mildly hoppy finish.
3.1Amber pour with an off-white head. Aroma is caramel malt. Taste is caramel malt. It has a slight metallic finish.
3.112oz bottle, shared by tmoney99. Clear amber color. Little off-white head, leaving good lace. Good lighter carbonation, crisp texture. Light caramel malt, little earthy pine grapefruit hop. Good bitter, light sweet taste. Decent
3.0Bottle to taster (thanks tmoney99). Looks decent; a murky burnt-orange with thin white lacing. Smells of semi-sweet malt and a little hops. Tastes the same with an average mouthfeel. Not bad.
3.0On Tap at the brewery. Amber orange color with a white head. Aroma is lightly malty, slight caramel, a bit of earthy hop presence. Flavor is similar. Slightly sweet, slightly bitter. Balanced and laid back. Good beer.
3.2Cloudy, amber brown with a short off-white head.
Scent is caramel malt....though a bit faint.
Taste is more toffee-like, smooth, a hint of bitter, herbal hops.
A very smooth, balanced beer.
Quite solid.

3.2Bottle. Poured a dark copper color with an average to large frothy off-white head that was mostly lasting and had excellent lacing. Good balanced malt and hop aroma. Medium body with smooth texture and soft carbonation. Moderate balanced smooth flavor with a medium balanced finish of moderate duration. Good brew.
2.6Bottle. Buttery caramel malt and tea aroma. Hazy amber with a small ivory head. Sweet buttery caramel flavor. There seems to be a diacetyl issue going on with this one. Medium body, light to flat carbonation.
3.1Bottle. Toffee malt and hay aroma. Hazy amber with moderate head. Slightly sweet toffee malt and mildly bitter grassy hops flavor. Nice easy drinking beer.
3.5Smooth, malty, a little hint of fruit, and a dry finish. Very balanced and overall, a great session ale.
1.8Serving: Draft. It pours a light amber color with a slight, white head. The nose has notes of butter and caramel. The flavor has metallic notes with slight butter, grain, and an off bitterness. Serious flaws with this brew.
3.0Bottle from whole foods Reston - pours a clear amber with a thin head. Aroma is meaty-malty with a piney hop finish. Taste is gets progressively bitterer as it goes down palate is dry. Overall, not bad, but this isn’t my style.
3.0nice light nose. a slight caramel taste but not a whole lot of flavor. Not bad just doesn’t do much
3.8Pours a hazy reddish amber with very little head. Aroma is tea-like malt, warm and rich. Taste is nicely malt forward followed by a subtle spiciness that cleanly offsets the sweet richness of the malt.
3.1Draught at Fette Sau, Brooklyn. Clear amber - white head. Light malty sweetness. Caramel. Fruity. Ok hoppy. Toasted. Grassy. amber malts. A bit plain.
