Crazy Mountain Lava Lake Wit

Crazy Mountain Lava Lake Wit

This Ale is our take on a classic Belgian Wit Beer. To make this beer unique, we add un-malted wheat, rolled oats, two varieties of classic European hops, chamomile, curacao orange peel, coriander, grains of paradise, and a rare yeast strain from the Old Country. This is a beer that can be enjoyed year round. Cheers!

2.9 Bottle: Hazy, pale, clear/yellow with a small white head. Wheat, oats, stale orange-tea aroma. Taste is orange malt.....not sweet....wheat malt, chamomile... Different.....not bad, but it’s all a bit vague.... Sort of a wheat beer/ mild ale mix......
3.0 Can. Pours a hazy pale golden body with a small white head. Nose is cinnamon, straw, pale malts, white sugar and hints of citrus, herbs and wheat. Taste is sweet spicy tones of cinnamon and herbs, chamomile and hints of wheat, citrus and pale malts. Light to medium body, medium to high carbonation. Decent beer, but a bit sweet in its spice composition which actually gets in the way of the freshness somehow. Original, but kinda far from a wit, all in all.
3.5 Pours hazy pale yellow with a medium white head, excellent retention. Aromas of banana bread, tangerine, coriander, and pepper. Light body, smooth and creamy, good carbonation. Lightly sweet, lightly tart, gentle bitter finish. Refreshing, quaffable. Really enjoyable wit.
2.8 On tap at High Dive. Bright, light, unremarkable, fairly flavorless wit. Honestly one of the most boring beers I’ve had. I mean it’s not offensive or anything. It’s just there.
2.7 Pretty disappointing. A nice aroma but really lacking in flavor and has an akward finish.
3.3 This cloudy yellow US beer looks like a Belgian wit, if it hadn’t been for the unusually small, white head. The aroma is sweet, strong and complex, but it’s a tad too floral and perfumey in my opinion. There are also generic fruity notes, citrus and of course the mandatory Belgian spicy yeast. Strong flavour of flowers, Belgian yeast, a fun mix of spices and citrus. Light sweet taste with a long-lasting, light bitter floral finish. Light and dry on the palate with a disappointingly soft carbonation that doesn’t really fit the beer that well. Still, a tasty and unusual take on the wit. 2.4 Pours light gold with foamy white head. Aroma is light wheat and heavy yeast. Flavor is wheaty with notes of grapefruit but fairly bland with heavy carbonation.
3.3 Pours hazy golden with a minimal eggshell head. Aroma presents fruity and subtle fresh malty tones. Fruity flavor has Apple, pear, toasted malt and fresh orange tones. Mouthfeel presents average body and fizz. Get your lava on!
2.9 bottle @ Party Town / Florence KY --- Hazy medium/dark amber, beige head cover, strips of lace. Taste is mild malt (don’t pick up any wheat). It moves through the mildly fizzed swallow to light spice, and then a bit of hops in a fairly long finish. It’s okay, but not at all distinctive.
2.7 Boks fra Kvadrat. Klar gyllen kropp med hvit ring langs glasset. Sitrus, grapefrukt, te og koriander blant duftene. Litt syrlig og ganske krydret i smaken og ettersmaken.
(Rating #6530)
2.5 Boks 355ml. Delt med Håvard hjemme hos dem 17 Jul 15. Gusjegrågul. Uklar. Veldig lavt skum. Sammensatt krydderduft. Spennende. Smaken diffus. Uvanlig smak. Litt frukt. Uvariert.
3.0 Pour is a hazy yellow with a average white head. Aroma is wheat malt with a spicy edge to it. Flavor is again a chewy wheat malt with a larger than average spice for a with. I am also picking up a decent amount of chamomile. Pretty decent wit with the spice and chamomile additions being the star of the beer.
3.3 Pours hazy golden / orange with a sudsy white head. The aroma has smooth wheat, oranges, hints of spice, is fairly sweet for the style and has some medicinal notes. It has a medium smooth body with very soft carbonation. The flavor starts with smooth wheat, sweet orange, lots of soft spices and herbal tea. The finish shows spices, dries out and has some leafy earthiness. Decent wit.
2.6 12 oz can pours hazy golden with a white head. Aroma of wheat, coriander, orange and grass. Taste is really different, spicy, malts and yeast.
2.5 Witビール 酸味がきつすぎる
3.0 Can from some random VP enjoyed at home Yellow hazy, thin white head. Smell of apple pie, chamomile, cardemomme, coriander, orange peel, all kind of strange aromas together. Moderate sweet, a heavy mix of coriander and chamomile, some citrus touches, quite fruity, a bit too much for me, but hey, it’s kind of crazy this beer. Moderate bitter tail
2.6 Pours pale golden, small non durable head. Funky aroma. Pickles, lemon, shoe polish, unripe berries, soap. Low bitterness.
0.8 Oh this is bad. It's like all spice. Horrible. Smell is bad, taste is worse. One of the worst beers I've ever had. A horrible wit beer. I am glad this was not my introduction to craft beer; I'd have stuck with Bud Light which I hate with a passion. This is bad.
3.1 Medium offwhite head. Hazy yellow body with strong carbonation. Spicy wooden herbal aroma, very powerful, with chamomile and grass notes. Dryish spicy mealy chamomile taste with orangey notes. Mid-bodied. Mild, soft mouthfeel. Dry-acidic grassy herbal chamomile aftertaste with citric notes. This is a chamomile beer more than anything, but it’s kind of nice. (0.355l bottle, from wine monopoly, Strømmen.)
2.5 Lys brun tåkete med lavt offwhite skum. Lukter risgrøt med kanel. Også en del kanel i smak, ganske tam ellers. Kort. Noe syrlighet.
1.8 0,33l can from Vinmonopolet. Bad. Tastes like a lawn. Not pleasant. Light, but unpleasant.
2.2 Look; diminishing off white head, hazy dark yellow body. Aroma; strange fruit deodorant, mandarine peel notes. Taste; fruits, lemon, pear, nuts, fruit peels, camomile deodorant - leading to a sweet fruity finish. On palate easy, soft, somewhat limonadeish. Overall; strange perfumed but somewhat tasty though. 2.7 very spicy and wheaty flavors. strong spicy finish with wheat notes. pours light yellow with a white head. horrible beer. had to pour out.
1.4 Aroma is kinda dusty with some wierd spicy aromas to it. The Flavor is all spice. Tastes like a freakin chili. Loads of cinnamon-flavor. This was terrible. Had to pour it out.
2.5 Can 355ml. White layer disappearing. Hazy yellow color. Aroma is citrus, orange peel, oat, meat, prunes, flowers. Taste is fruit, herbs, spices, flowers. A true limonade.
2.9 Klar lys gyllen farve med lyst skum som rask avtar. Lukt av sitrus, hvete, gjær og krydder. Smak av sitrus, hvete, gjær og krydder. Syrlig, ruktig og frisk avslutning. Vinmonopolet.
1.7 Can 0,355l. Pours a hazy pale yellow body, fair white head, upper level lacing. Aroma of fruity hops on the nose added by coriander. Ripe citrus, grainy malts, sweet coriander, camomile, orange peel and lactose creating a strange kind of perfumed flavour.
2.2 On bottle from Vinmonopolet Norway. Hazy golden color, ok foam. Medium aroma intensity; starts off with some rotten unfamiliar aromas, alos fruitiness and citrus. Medium body & complexity. Some bitterness, ok balance. Pretty poor stuff
