3.1 12 oz can. (Systembolaget) Helsingborg, Sweden. Black color with a small tan head. Roasted malt, coffee, vanilla, chocolate, sweetness and dryness in the aroma. The flavor is roasted malt, dark roasted coffee and dryness. Too much coffee for me.
3.5 Nose is burnt grain. Flavors are light sweet and bitter ending. Not astringent. A fairly rough stout. I taste no coffee.
3.1 1 of the most uninteresting stouts I've had! Dry, boring, & completely forgettable! Pours black w/ a thin tan head & little lacing. The aroma has some light roasted coffee notes. The flavor is simply light roast that is dry, thin, & not the greatest on the palate. Not recommended!
3.4 Can. Almost black, big beige head, no retention. Aroma has chocolate, roasted malt and rye bread. Taste is roasted with rye bread, chocolate, slight tartness, some bitterness, no coffee. Medium body, high carbonation, dry mouth feel. Dry, woody and slight bitter after taste. No coffee whatsoever. Otherwise good.
3.8 Can at home. Poured a clear brown. Dark head. Aromas of bread, coffee, nuts. Light bitter, light sour, very reminiscent of coffee behavior on the palate. Soft on the bubbles. Good this one, so this was a rebuy as I've had it before and liked it
3.5 Strong cacao aroma and slightly on the sweet side. I would prefer it slightly more bitter to balance the sweetness. But overall not a bad stout.
3.3 1 finger tan head, black body. Nose: Licorice, coffee, cacao-powder, malt and dark chocolate. Taste: Day old ferry-coffee, chocolate, cacao-powder, licorice, anis, licorice-powder, malt and soy-sauce. Short ending with some dry bitterness.
3.4 Backlong entry. This beer is close to style with typical flavors. Well rounded and clean. Nothing too outstanding or unusual.
3.4 appearance: dark brown, creamy tan head, average lacing. aroma: roasty coffee, dark chocolate, brown bread. taste: as the aroma indicates, with a bit of pine and just a hint of dark fruit. finish: creamy palate, lingering roast. notes: Simple, tasty stout. Coffee not too strong. Everything tastes just a bit burnt. Good palate. Bottle from the Rare Beer Club.
2.6 At Brass Tap , Coral Springs with Audrie, pours a deep black pour with no head. Nose is malty and burnt charcoal. Taste is flat with light chocolate.....not much flavor. Should have avoided when I saw the composite RB score, which I usually do. Quaff Score 5 / 10
2.8 355 ml can from Systembolaget Jaegerdorf, Göteborg. Sampled on July 29, 2017. BB 2018-06-30. Clear deep brown to black color, brown head. First glass poured with half the can got a large head, second glass got a lot smaller head. Leaving some lacing behind. Sweet, malty, roasted scent. Malty, roasted, slight acidic, burnt, ashes taste. Mineral, ash aftertaste. Medium and fizzy mouthfeel, medium high bitterness. 6/4/5/3/10=2.8
3.4 Can from systembolaget. Pours a dark colour beer with a smal head. Roasted malt with light notes of Coffee and chocolate. Dry finish.
3.0 12oz bottle pours a lightly watery, dark brown / black with some clumpy, off white head. Nose had some stout, toast, grist, grain, a little brown sugar, some sweetened coffee notes. Coffee comes through a little better in the flavor, where the stout is also more obvious, toast, brown sugar, mild chocolate. Dry finish.
3.5 Aroma - pleasant, lot of fresh ground coffee, coffee beans, roasted malt, some burnt wood, wild black fruits. Taste - pleasant, with lot of fresh coffee, roasted malt, a bit of chocolate, burnt and burnt bitterness, black fruit’s jam and honey. Good.
3.3 Deep dark cola colored beer with a medium foamy beige head. Nose of unsweetened cocoa, vanilla, and medium roast coffee. Flavor is quite dry with stronger roasted coffee, bitter chocolate, and charred nuts finished with a chalky bitterness. Nice stout, but I would have preferred a little more malt sweetness to counterbalance it a bit.
3.3 CAN 12 OZ. Pitch Black, beige head. Some roast, prominent winey notes, and some hops too. Not much coffee. Ok
3.2 Pours jet dark brown, with a nice cream colored head. Aroma of coffee and malts. Taste is of rich, dark coffee, lots of coffee.
2.3 It feels like they made a bad beer and added coffee to fix that. Coffee notes are good, aroma has something resembling tobacco which was nice. But overall I don’t want to drink this again so can’t really give any higher points.
3.2 Så og si svart farge med luftig tynt beige skum. Lukten preges av kaffe men også sjokolade og svisker. Noe oljete i munnfølelse. Smaker av kaffe, sjokolade og noe salt lakris. mild avslutning.
3.0 Can. Very dark brown - almost black, average and mostly diminishing light brown head. Moderate, malty and lightly sweetish, light roastiness with faint barnyard, light hoppyness . Body is light to medium, malty and dryish - lightly sweetish, light roastiness and coffee. Finish is average, malty and dryish - lightly sweetish, light roastiness with faint licorice and light coffee, light hoppyness. Thin stout with notes of barnyard in the aroma. Nothing special - not too sweet though,
3.9 Poured into a nonic pint glass, the appearance was a dark brown close to black color with a fairly quick dieing off thin off white little head. Stringy lacing weaves all around the glass nicely. The aroma starts off with some dark chocolate, bitter coffee beans, some milk chocolate, roasty coffee bean and then some light toast. The flavor yields strongly to the roasted coffee bean very dryly. Bitterness of the bean comes out decently. Rolling bitter to smooth dry coffee bean aftertaste and finish. On the palate, this one sat about a light to medium on the body with a nice sessionable to almost sipping quality about it. Mild carbonation. Nice roasty component laying down on my tongue. Overall, nice roasty American styled stout I would surely have again.
3.9 nuts, coffee, resin, basement aromas, earthy, cough drop, vanilla, woody, black, minimal head, medium sweetness, lightly bitter, lightly sour, salty, medium body, creamy, oily feel, soft carbonation, long finish,
3.4 Pours with small head and in almost completely black. Nose is rich with cereals and coffee notes. Taste is clear and almost metallic with distinct coffee and some bitterness. Fresh but missing some alcohol to carry the heavier notes that are hidden in the back. Palate is a little short and leaves no direct impact.
3.1 Draft. Very dark clear brown color, thin tan edge head. Nice coffee aroma. Taste is sweet, more coffee, dark chocolate. Light body.
3.1 12 oz can at the 2016 ASMF.Looks like used motor oil on the pour.Short-lived beige head.Dark roasted grains with hops and coffee grinds in the nose. The flavor follows except for a heavy dose of burnt grains and very dark coffee.Smooth, full, lightly carbonated body
Kolor czarny, nieprzejrzyste. Piana beżowa, średnio obfita, drobna, średnio trwała, zdobi szkło. W smaku lekka słodycz, średnia pełnia, kawa, popiół, czekolada, kakao, paloność. Goryczka średnia, wysycenie średnie.
3.2 coffe and toasted aroma, black, brown foam, light sweetness, lightly bitter, lightly bitter, light body, oily feel, long watery, coffe finish.
