4.0 Pours dark ruby read with off-white head that lasts one or two minutes. Caramel and burnt malt aroma with a hint of chocolate. Taste is caramel, light chocolate, with a hint of alcohol, and finishes with burnt malt and hop bitterness. Overall, I would say nicely balanced.
4.0 Have had this on draught over a period of time. Found that it grew on me as I had it over multiple visits to the pub. Very nice seasonable, good balance between hoppy bitterness and the sweetness of the malts. Feels pretty thin on the tongue, but consistent with the dunkel style. Highly recommend getting on tap!
3.8 I’m a huge fan of Creemore springs and this is either my favorite or 2nd favorite.
3.7 473ml can. Ruddy copper with little to no head. Great balance of tasty malts, hops, yeast -- roasty, with citrusy sweet notes and an earthy yeast bite. Rich and full of character. Have been anticipating this one for a while and my first impression lives up to those expectations.
3.4 2013/04/28 - Pours a clear, dark copper color with a frothy off white head. Aroma is sweet caramel and toasted malts. Taste is caramel, coffee, slight chocolate and a balanced, hoppy tone. Mouthfeel is medium oily with nice carbonation and a drying finish. Well balanced.
3.2 Pours a dark copper with blonde head. Tastes of toasted and plum. Smooth earthy hop taste with quick finish. Good beer all in all.
2.8 Nice sessionable beer. Deep red in colour. nice head, with nice lacing out of a tall boy can. 6% ABV is barely noticeable. Good body a little thin, but too style being a Bock. Earthy hops. Subtle carbonation. Pretty good all round beer.
3.2 Clear deep dark copper, frothy tan head settles and fades. Mild malty sweet aroma. Lightly toasted sweet malt taste, some milk chocolate and caramel. Light and smooth. Softly carbed, medium bodied, lightly hopped. Short sweet dry finish. LBW (Lagerboys Be Wary)
3.2 Frothy brew with a slight haze and brown colour. Molasses like aroma, dark fruit and roast. more of the same on the palate, medium body and fast finish. This is actually kinda nice.
3.2 Bouteille 341ml.
3.8 Can from the Beer Store. This beer pours a clear deep and rich ruby colour with a big frothy off white head. The beer smells of deep malts, burnt coffee, and caramel. The taste is very smooth, with notes of rich malts, caramel, chocolate, a tad sour with a dry finish. Excellent beer, and a great starter beer for someone looking to enter into the world of dark full bodied beers.
3.1 Red pour, 1 finger of white head. Aroma of bread, toffee, slightly spicy. Sweet up front, caramel, bread, light bitterness. Medium body, slightly dry finish. A serviceable bock that is easy to drink.
3.3 500 mL can. Impressive bock. Pours a dark copper with a head that quickly disappears. Aroma is toasty as so is the taste. Nice balanced finish.
3.9 Pours a deep, perfectly clear red with an off-white head. The aroma is of sweet malt, bread crust, some sulfur, slight raspberry fruity note. The taste is very malty, but not obnoxious - it?s a round, full sweetness that compliments a colder day. There is no discernable hop flavour or aroma, just an underlying slight bitterness in the finish to balance things out.
3.0 From notes. Pours a dark copper-red colour with a thick foamy head. Aroma is malty, with slight alcohol, spice and hops.
2.5 473ml can. Nice deep copper colour. Big creamy yellow head with good retention. Not a very strong nose of caramel. Pretty intense flavour of grassy hops and molasses, with a late bitterness, not the greatest aftertaste though. Not bad, but I would prefer their lager instead.
4.4 473ml can. Average, creamy, off-white head in pint glass. Diminished quickly to decent lacing. Deep tawny brown colour (Lovibond 21/22). Maple scent. Also cookies and figs. Tastes like a million bucks! Detected flavours of licorice, coffee and maple to name a few. All vying for the space on your tongue, and all winning at different points! Initial tasting is heavily unbalanced - that is its sweet, sweet, sweet... With only light bitter play. Full bodied syrupy goodness with lively palate. Top scoring!
3.8 Creemore just knows what they’re doing inside and out. Not that much in the way of hops but it doesn’t need it, it’s got that perfect sour/sweetness of bocks with chocolate undertones. It’s too bad about those words in brackets above after the brewery name but it’s hard not to forgive them.
4.6 April 20 2012. 473ml can poured into pint glass. Aroma was sweet and spicy fruits. Pours a beautiful ruby red opaque with 1" foam toasty head. Head fades to thin cap but nice thin lacing. Taste is sweet caramel rounded out with a bitter hops to give it well balanced flavour and just enough aftertaste.Syrupy palate finishes dry. Amazing. Amazing. (yes it is that good)
2.5 Smells like sugar water with caramelized malt, though the latter is on the downlow. Carbonation fades quickly to leave a flat honeyish kind of ilk that really isn’t that pleasant. Not a great beer. Tall can poured into a glass.
3.3 341ml bottle pours a reddish brown color with a 2 finger light tan head that settles to some thin lacing on the glass. Aroma is caramel and mild flowery hops. Taste is caramel malty sweetness with hints of chocolate and mild hop bitterness. Medium in body and light in carbonation. A nice representation of the style.
3.9 473ml can. Pours a copper ruby colour, sufficient white head and a light oil slick on the sides of the glass. Mild dark lager aroma with dark fruits and toffee malt. Earthy bitterness and toasted grains taste with some sweetness. Really smooth and soft drinkable palate. Overall, very accessible and fantastic mouthfeel.
3.3 Mahogany colour with a caramel frothy head which quickly dissipates to a thin lather. Crisp malt aroma with a caramel flavour. Slight bitterness on the palette . Tasty beer.
3.4 Sample from can at the Strange Brew Tasting on 02/18/2012. Ruby-brown pour with a medium light beige head that diminishes slowly. Small patches of lacing on the glass. Aroma of toasted malt, ripe fruit and caramel. Medium body with flavors of bready malt, fruit and a touch of earth. The finish is malty with a sweet aftertaste. Decent overall.
3.3 Can shared by a friend. Clear amber pour with a thick tan head. Nose consists of malt, caramel and slight berry. Malty and caramelly flavor with a crisp finish. Decent bock.
3.1 Nice beer overall. Lots of good biscuity malt backing with grassy notes as well. Medium light in the mouth with strong carbonation.
3.0 Small head and a copper-amber body. Heavy and simple malt aroma. Flavour is malt and tin with some chewy wafer notes. Tasty and simple, not necessarily a bad thing.
3.2 Dumped out a clear mahogany brew with a light tan compact head that leaves ropy lacing. Deep roast and grassy nose, some fruit that is almost citrus but not really, nuts, ashes, more malts maybe toasted... who knows what my nose knows. Fairly in my face flavours of roasty toasty stuff, some sweetness hangs around always, grass, touch of nuts (no homo), molasses, pretty good. Drawn out bitterness on the finish along with the drying effect. Quite drinkable and thankfully doesn’t have that strong sickly sweetness that I can’t stand in a lot of bocks.
3.4 can. Medium orange-tinted amber with an average cream coloured head, no lace. aroma is toasty caramel, hint of dusty cocoa. sweet brown sugar caramel flavour, lightly toasty, nice assertive hop bite in the finish. Quite nice.
3.8 Pours a red-brown. Smells of sweet hay, toast, malt. Tastes malty, with some passing dark fruit tang, mellowing into an earthy woody hop finish. Mild lingering bitterness. Good stuff.
