Weigh the Anchor, Hoist the Sails! Colossal waves and lashing winds – this was the life of the English sailors whose job it was to bring beer to Colonial India. Only an insane amount of hops and high alcohol content helped it to withstand the perilous journey. Drunken Sailor IPA brings this adventure and powerful taste to the 21st century – Ship Ahoy!
3.5Draught @Fryd Ølbar. Clear golden with an off white head. Aroma of grain and grass. Mellow sweetness and a mildly bitter finish.
3.0Draught at Waza restaurang and brewey. Short white head. Clear yellow color. Malty aroma but NO hoppiness. Sweet malty taste with balanced bitterness but low hop taste.
3.3(bottle 0,33l) Overall: Ok simple ale. Classic but a bit light.
Aroma: Light sweet, citrusy hops, stone fruits.
Appearance: Clear golden. Medium white head.
Taste: Light sweet, citrusy hops, stone fruits, light bitter finish.
Palate: Medium body. Light bitter finish.
3.2Pours a golden color with white head. Cardboard and floral aroma and taste.
Notes: bottle, June ‘21
Medelbeska. Inga konstigheter, bara gott.
3.4This is a classic to style IPA. No dirty tricks, no surprises. It has a copper / golden glow upon the pour with a moderate head which retains quite well. You can smell the aroma from the distance this glass was to the camera. A pleasant piney and floral scent, with just a cutting hint of citrus to balance, like a perfect fabric softener. The taste is also classic, with trademark bitterness, but an appropriate balance malts and dry citrus notes. For hop heads that keep score, it's got your Cascade, Citra, Hercules and Simcoe all bundled up in here. It has a pretty light mouthfeel and a swallow that doesn't overstay its welcome. All in all, a really solid choice representation of the style.
4.0Slight orange hazy apricot to bernstein colour, a bit keller beer like. Characteristic ipa like nose. Fine flushing carbonation. Bitterness is present and stays very long. Interesting is the growing taste of ripened fruits and orange zest in the main body. Overall good to very good quality ipa well brewed i have to say that (there are many shitty ipa on the market).
3.7Pretty good
3.733cl Bottle @ Drinks of The World, Geneva, Switzerland.
Amber colour with a thin white head.
Aroma is hops, citrus, slightly malty.
Taste is hops, citrus, grapefruit, malt, sweet.
Medium body, average carbonation.
Bevuta molto pulita e carbonazione molto tenue
3.0Copenhagen 31/1 2021. 33 cl bottle from many, Rotunden, Hellerup. Black label in CREW Republics usual design with a blue stripe.
Pours clear, golden amber with a mid-sized white head. Settles as thin but frothy layer of foam. Almost transparent at places but crawling up the sides of the glass. Moderate lacing.
Aroma is moderately intense and quite on the malty side for a Indian Pale ale. Some dry citric notes. Caramel, sweet pale malts. Citrus and lime.
Rather strong carbonation. Thin, watery, lively and tingling texture.
Flavor is medium intense with a fairly strong sweetness followed by a more moderate, citric bitterness. Aftertaste is sweetish with a citric undertone. Lingers shortly. Finish is semi-dry.
A bit on the thin side for a Indian Pale Ale. And with modest presence of hops for the style.
4.2Buonissima ipa dal gusto molto luppolato e ben bilanciata.
4.0Lecker
3.2Light amber colour with small white head. Strong smell of hops. Taste is somewhat disappointing compared to the aroma, as the taste is very light.
3.4Aroma of bitter hops, really nice
Light amber with small head
Taste of mild hops, not very bitter at all. Very thin taste, almost not present on the tongue
Slightly foamy mouthfeel
Really nice aroma but dissapointing taste
3.1Smell-weak malt, neutral.
Foam- malty, thin. Head is small, white color with a yellow tint.
Appearance - beer bottle cap, and good looking, simple label. Clear orange-amber.
From - snifter
Taste - malty, some hops in mix, very neutral generally, not bad.
3.4Bottle at Deggendorf restaurant.pours copper, hazy. Nose of citra, Simcoe, cascade. Malt is less strong behind this aroma. Medium bitterness. Decent ipa
3.0Goldgelb. Hopfig Zitrus bitter
3.7Amber to gold beer with thick but quickly disappearing head. Expected strong hops aroma does not disappoint, mix of fruity and grassy. Good body and drinkability in spite of strong bitterness that leaves an aftertaste on the tongue.
3.4Classic to-style ipa.very firm strong bitterness, but not harshly so. Good hop combo. A beer I would’ve loved ten years ago. 2019 bad santa advent or beerwulf advent
2.6Bitter
3.1Amber and light hazy with a frothy head.
Floral smell with a grapefruit note. Fruity and bitter in taste like a grapefruit, but rather watery for an IPA. Low carbonation.
4.2Pours a clear copper with lively carbonation and a large head with big bubbles.
Aroma is malty for an IPA with wood chip, pine, caramel, orange peel and grapefruit. Taste has sweetness with a bitter medium finish. A little thin given the ABV, but nice mouthfeel.
Impressive IPA out of Germany. Interesting and very drinkable. Reminds me of a stronger Sierra Nevada pale.
3.6Bottle - Pours a clear golden with a nice, foamy head. Sweet citrus aroma. Nice mouthfeel with a balance of sweet hops and bitterness. Good finish.
Prima ipa.
