3.6 Copenhagen 25/1 2021. 33 cl bottle from Meny, Rotunden, Hellerup. As “Rest in Peace”. Black label in Crew Republic’s usual design. Pours clear amber with a mid-sized off-white head. Settles as 0,3 cm thick layer of foam covering the surface of the beer. Moderate lacing. Aroma is medium intense with a strong sweet, malty and boozy odor. Sweet dark fruits. Plums, raisins and apricots. Hints of toffee. Almond and alcohol. Light carbonation. Medium thick, soft, slightly sticky texture. Flavor is fairly intense with a strong sweetness followed by a moderate sourish bitterness. Aftertaste is sweet bordering on being sugary. Lingers for a while. Finish is sweet and liqueur-like. Powerful sweet and with a solid boozy burn.
2.5 Tobak, torkad frukt i aromen. Stor maltig kropp. Fruktkaka och russin. Överraskande låg eldighet. Medelfyllig eftersmak.
3.7 Brown color with small off-white head. Aroma has caramel, malt, plums and chocolate. Taste is malty sweet with long quite sweet and somewhat bitter aftertaste. Flavors of caramel, dark malt, vanilla, rye and plums.
3.7 Clear, dark red beer with a thin fizzy head. Loads of caramel and malty fruit in the aroma. Flavour has caramel, a bit of bitter zesty citrus, a little hop, some biscuity malt and boozy warmth. Just enough alcohol burn to let you know you're dealing with some properly strength. Very drinkable indeed.
4.4 hazy reddish brown to amber colour, huge, dense and quite stable yellowish-beige-ish head; aroma of resiny, slight orange and orange zesty, raisins soaked into alcohol, soy sauce, biscuity, caramel, and moderate alcoholic notes; perfectly balanced bittersweet taste with the same notes as can be felt in the aroma; great barley wine!
3.3 Bottle. Hazy pale amber color with a medium thin head. Very sweet aroma of caramel, malt, red berries and apple. Sweet taste. Some booziness. Sticky feel. Medium body.
3.6 Smell of raisins, oak. Muddy brown colour, tiny beige head. Aroma of raisins, oak, sugar, malt, alcohol. Sugary finish.

3.4 Bottled. An amber beer with a beige head. The aroma has notes of malt, caramel, and alcohol. The flavor is sweet with notes of malt, caramel, and alcohol, leading to a dry finish.
2.6 33 cl bottle. Pours hazy orange, white head. Aroma is herbal, flat malty. Breadish. Sweet, overripe fruity. Sweet and toffee malty. Herbal finish.
3.5 Bottle@Lars - Amber pour with a white head. Sweet malty with notes of caramel and brown sugar, some dried fruit shred, medium body, spiced malty into the close.
3.1 33 cl. bottle. An orange coloured beer with an off-white head. Aroma and flavour of malt, caramel, yeast, alcohol, hops, dried fruit and with a sweet finish.
3.2 Bottle as "Rest in Peace". Clear amber/copper color, with small head. Aroma is caramel malts, some dried fruits. Taste is sweetish, caramel, light fruity notes. Decent bitterness at the very end. A bit boozy, but not too much. Simple barley wine, there is no complexity. But still an ok beer.
2.1 Bottle, early 2018. Lots of malt, notes of red apples and cherries, herbal hoppy notes, balancing bitterness. Unfortunately overly boozy, with a distinct note of corn. Messy.
3.8 Bottle, as Rest in Peace. Pours hazy copper brown with airy beige head. Clear aroma of malt and caramel, with notes of yeast and fruity touches. Sweetish flavour of caramel malt, BW yeast and fruit, with bitter notes of hops and alcohol and some roasty hints. Bitter and estery aftertaste with caramelise touches. Warming alcohol presence. Creamy mouthfeel. Decent.
4.2 Har lidt mere sødme end bitterhed hvilket overraskede mig. Ellers er der ikke så meget at sige om det.
3.9 Lasting stable foam and nice aroma of slightly hops, sweet fruity malt and caramel. The filling is thick and lightly creamy with a carbonation that dots a bit like sparkling wine. The taste is mostly caramel with a slightly bitter edge from the hops. It does not have the typical fruit taste like many other Barley Wines, but has a slightly more acidic taste to resemble green apples. In addition, there is a more marked hoppy bitterness which also differs greatly from other beers of this type. Caramel and slightly sweet syrup nicely finish off its bitterness. A slightly different Barley Wine without the familiar full taste of dried fruits. Here it plays on slightly different keys and it is actually reasonably successful. The alcohol is well hidden in the taste, but waits in the background with its warming sensation.
3.7 Aroma: Sweet malt, toffee/caramel, some hops Appearance: brown-gold in appearance, a bit opaque, with very little head. Taste: caramel, malts, sweetish, and underlying bitterness from the hops, but very drinkable. The alcohol does not come through at all. Mouthfeel: thick and creamy smooth. Overall, this is a pleasant but dangerous beer. Pleasant as in enjoyable and perfect for company or as a meal accompaniment. Dangerous in that its taste belies its high alcohol content, and thus easy to underestimate. Definitely worth getting and enjoying, especially on cooler days and in the evenings.
3.4 0,33 l Flasche, als Rest in Peace. Rotbraunes, leicht trübes Bier, flacher, cremiger Schaum. Riecht nach Karamell, schmeckt nach Karamell, leicht bitter, alkoholisch, langer Abgang.
2.7 Dunkles, malziges Bier. Feinperliger schnell auflösender Schaum.
3.8 Almost brown beer with a lot of floating residues and a fine thick head. Strong body and full aroma. This beer packs a punch in every aspect, palate, aroma and alcohol. Slightly sweet rather than bitter, with caramel aromas. Very enjoyable!
3.7 Brown and murky with floaters. Dank aroma with toffee overtones. Taste is sweet with a light accompanying apple cider tartness that rises at the finish but remains subdued. A mild hop bitterness provides balance. Heavy body, warming, although the alcohol remains hidden. A real bruiser.
3.9 I would call this a nice amber dark english barley wine. Through and through fantastic. Not overbitter, but enough to know it’s there. The alc gives a nice warmth that isn’t harsh. Malt forward big time, with nice woody yeast notes. Beerwulf online. Tried again. Still an amazing beer
3.9 Bottle at KCBD19 as Rest In Peace. Good bready aroma. Almost clear brown colour. Small head. The flavour is slightly sweet. Has some caramel. Distinct bitterness. OK clean. Warming alcohol.
3.6 Bottle picked up from the REWE on the trading estate en route to München and the airport. Consumed at home Thursday 11th April having just had a Cannelloni and listening to the new Snapped Ankles album. Pours a murky mid brown with an off white head. Hops and toffee on the nose and in the mouth more of the same, though with a distinct underlying bitterness (it's hoppy), it's a beast of a beer but very drinkable. Thick in the mouth, soft creamy carbonation, more toffee a little herbal cough sweet. It's very nice, bit boozy but nice.
