Cricket Hill Hopnotic IPA

Cricket Hill Hopnotic IPA

No mere beverage could satisfy the thirst of the courageous and gallant soldiers who stood guard over the colonies of the British Empire. Their thirst could only be quenched by a full-bodied hearty Ale; an Ale balanced with rich flavorful hops. We are proud to offer our interpretation of this English style India Pale Ale for those who loong for the time when once your duty was complete, the taste of a fine Ale was reward enough for a job well done.

3.4 12 oz. bottle. Pours a clear dark gold color with a thick slightly off-white head that hangs around for a while. Aroma is mostly pine hops with some caramel malt in the background. Taste is the same with a slight hop bitterness in the finish. Not bad.
3.5 Ok first review. ( if I could comment and not rate I would ) but this is a really unique beer in my eyes. No bs floral aromas, just hops and more hops. The aftertaste alone is enjoyable. This is a first at bat beer. Get one or four before you drink the cheap stuff.
3.4 Bottle @All My Vinyl Tasting, Edinburgh. Pours golden with an ever so s;light haze. Grapefruit/citrus fruits on the nose. Bitter and dry on the palate, all bitter, nothing else, one toned, ok if you like that sort of thing and i dont mind it but this just needs something to bring it out of its shell.
3.2 Bottle at home. Pours hazy gold, thin white head. Aromas are all grapefruit. Taste is all bitterness. One-dimensional and a thin finish. OK.
2.7 Not really enjoying this too much. Funky smell, funky taste. Weird flavor profile. Prefer the lagers in the cricket hill profile.
3.3 Pale, slight head, golden. Firm shuffle of cheap grapefruit. Over bittered, chewy hopness. Really one sided tang. Dry heaps of hops on the finish but nothing moreish about it. Bottle, Craig’s Florida Hall, All My Vinyl Tasting
3.4 Malty aroma. Hops are there for sure but malt dominates the aroma. Taste is malty with some hop balance. More piney hops, but sweet malty makes the hop profile hard to determine. Still lots of flavor and maybe not the best ipa, but very drinkable. Maybe a little sticky and sweet palate. Not a beer I would expect to have an overall score under 3??
1.2 Pours our very foamy and not from user error. Light gold in color. A light grainy aroma is apparent and probably the best part of this beer, although there is limited hop aroma. A bit confused at this point by the IPA designation. Palate is thin and uninspiring. Reminds me a bit of a lawnmower beer with a little more body. Finishes with a slightly syrupy aftertaste. Drank this side by side with Boulder Beer Hazed & Infused which was by far the better beer.
3.4 Quite foamy (possibly due to transportation). Hazy. Quite hoppy. Grapefruit rind sits on palate for awhile. Good all around IPA, although seems to be more American than English. Thanks Erin for helping me knock out Jersey!
3.2 Poured a gold color with aromas of light pine, citrus, light lemon and some acetone. Flavors follow suit a decent IPA, thanks John for giving this one to me.
2.8 pours a burnt lemon to light orange color with two fingers of head. the beer is hazy. smells of citrus, pine, earthy hops, with a light caramel aroma. the taste is crisp and refreshing, again, citrus and pine hop flavors, with a nice earthy quality to it. sweet malts with a slight bitterness. overall, this is almost a sessionable IPA, very drinkable, and crisp, but not really a great IPA.
2.2 Bottle from Ed, shared @ Bobby’s house. This is a gusher...that ain’t right. Golden pour with a big white head. Smells of celery, club soda, and green apple. Tart, oxidized, and overall not very good on the nose. Flavor is acidic/tart. Lots of celery and vegetal notes. Green apple, club soda, paper, and grass. Fairly bitter, too.
2.4 355mL. <> Pours amber with big yellow foam. Nose is acetaldehyde, lemon verbana. Taste is minerally, sweet, celery, light bitterness. Riddled with brewing flaws.
3.1 bottle. deep golden with one finger head. very nice looking beer, but that’s it for the highlights. light malt body and fairly mild English hops. eh.
2.9 Low profile in flavour and taste. Amber color, clean and bright. I thing it's not the delightful IPA for everydays!
3.1 12oz bottle. Pours a golden orange color with a fluffy one inch white head. Light aroma of grassy and citrus notes. The initial flavor was lightly hopped with lemons, grapefruit and oranges. There was a sweet maltiness that finished with a dry grassy hopping. Lite and thin body with average carbonation.
4.1 Simconotic? Alias??? Anyway that’s the name of this one; hazy orange amber lacy white head; aroma is rich dank hops; Flava is hoppy notes of tartness; feels medium thick and foamy; finishes very dry and bitter
3.5 Bottle thanks John! Pours clear amber orange with a nice frothy sudsy white head that slowly settles with lacing. Aroma is earthy floral hops with a hint of spruce and malt. Taste is bitter floral earthy hops and a malty balance. Palate is thin and chalky with a dry crisp finish.
3.1 Poured from bottle - clear, amber pour, nice white head. A well-intentioned IPA. Nose is pine and butterscotch. Sweet and grainy body. Astringent, puckering finish.
2.9 Aroma of sharp grassy hop, slight citrus and lemon zest. Pours light amber with a big foam head. Taste is super bitter but not too pleasant. Grassy notes with slight resin and bitter rind. Bitter and IPAish but not pleasant.
3.1 Fairly basic ipa. A mix of citrus, grapefruit, and mild piney aroma as well as flavor. Straw color, clear pour, and medium white head. ---Rated via iPhone
3.1 May 2010. This one didn’t do much for me. A bit too light in flavors and balance, but I guess that is the old world style. Amber color with a while head.
2.8 12oz bottle. Pours a deep amber color with a gigantic foamy white head. Too much carbonation. Glass was 3/4 foam. Aroma has a fruity, hoppy smell with a bit of malt sweetness. Taste is light grapefruit, sweet bready malt, and very light bitterness at the end.
3.2 Floral notes, citrus hops, not as bad as the ratings seem but nothign out of this world.
3.7 Dry, grassy hop aroma. The taste: light hop resin, lemon peel, coriander, and parsley. This was fresh and really nice - one of the better NJ brews for sure.
4.1 Well balanced imperial pale ale. Good nose of blue cheese. Not particularly malt or citrus forward.
3.8 12oz bottle from John, hair of the dog beer the morning after RBWG grand tasting Appearance: Pours clear golden with a medium sized white and head good lacing Aroma: Floral and fruity Taste: Citrus, light malts and dusty Very nice and smooth
3.1 Bottle. Clear amber color. Aroma of grass and light pine. Taste is sweet and malty with a bitter finish.
3.3 Bottle sample at a tasting at Dancing Camel. Thanks Yael. Pours orange to yellow with a small head, aroma of hops, peach, apricot and floral tones, flavor is bitter with some spices, leaves, herbs, mint, lemon, floral tones, medium bodied
