4.1July 8th, 2015 - With the core sours out of the way, our tasting session moves on to the Sour Blueberry. Here I am still skeptical, even though the last couple of Crooked Stave brews have been revelations. The color is a beautiful pomegranate red, with a slight bubble gum pinkness, and the smell is sweet and full of blackberry, bubble gum and pomegranate juice. It smells as it looks in synchronicity. The front of the flavor is tangy, and the pomegranate appears again, but the flavor shift dramatically, adding some blueberry darkness and depth. This note drifts for a long time, until cooly settling into a delicious and long, quiet aftertaste of fruit.
