4.2Bottle at Birreria Volo. Golden pour. The aroma is great. Intense funky horse blanket with some vineous character and a bit of tartness. Hay and funky tartness with some great juiciness and a bit of soft sweetness. There’s a bit of grsss and some zesty fruit. Has an awesome sort of grape nose as well as the funk and the tart.
4.2Awesome sour ale. Pours a beautiful bright orange yellow with white head. Massive Aromas of Barnyard Funk sour lemon and Greek yogurt. Tastes like it smells very funky and tart really awesome beer.
3.8On tap. Golden colour with white head. Fruit, apple aroma. Acidic, fruit, apple taste. MEdium body.
Fantastisk.
3.8375 ml bottle. September 2015 vintage. Pours a lightly cloudy gold with an inch of white head that settles into a ring and thin film, leaving ropes and spots of lace in the glass. The dry-hopping still shows up in the aroma, bringing grass and herbs and earth to funk and tart fruit, with lemon, oak, white and green tea, mild peppery spice, florals, bready malts, and stone fruit. Light-medium bodied, with moderate carbonation and a funky, tart, fruity, herbal, floral mouthfeel that has slight spice in the finish. Complex and interesting.
4.1Absolutely awesome, extremely drinkable and perfectly balanced wild ale. Pleasant bitterness. Strong, but not overloaded wild notes. Worth to try!
4.0Bottle from July 2015. Aroma of citrus, lactic acid, nice barnyard, stonefruit, light leather, apricot. Taste is dry, light bitter and stonefruit. Light body, oily/dry feel and dry citrus funky finish.
4.0Bottle. Fruity and funk-filled aroma, a bit pissy, with lychee, stinky mango, and stone fruit. Hazy blond color. Sharp but dry stone fruit, goes sourish and tangy in mid palate. Gentle bitterness, along with a small manure note, Dry finish. Thin-medium body and ebullient carbonation. Moderate sourness, great nose.
3.9Bottle. Nose is urinal cake, grapefruit, funk ass, green apples, muscat. Nice, dry fruitiness in the flavor, with a bitter and bone dry finish. Soft, full carbonation. Very nice stuff.
4.0From a 375 ml bottle. Pours a hazy gold with a thick, fluffy, long-lasting head. Aromas of tart white grapes and lemon. Flavors of lemonade and caramel. Smooth, slightly tart finish. Very nice.
4.1Bottle in garden, 6th July 17, 31 degrees heat. Pours clear and golden. Aroma is yeast, apples, citrus. Taste is dry and bitter, some tart Apple skin, stone fruit, unripe apricot, funk, cellar. Delicious and very refreshing.
W tle słodkie morele i nuty pieprzowe.
W smaku piwo jest lekkie, wytrawne i mocno wysycone. Efekt orzeźwienia podbijają wyraźne cytrusy i lekka mlekowa kwaśność. Mirabelki i morele, wraz z pieprzowością pojawiają się gdzieś zupełnie w tle. Finisz jest wytrawny i lekko cierpki.
4.3Bottle from Browarium. Aroma: Tropical hoppy aroma with some brett. Appearance: Nice head, golden hazy body. Taste: Tropical fruit, medium-high sourness, very very fruity. Palate: Dry tart finish, medium-low body, low carbonation.
4.3Pours a hazy orange gold with such an impressive billowy head of foam. Long lasting too.
Dry hopping permeates my nose. Funky aromas follow, minor amounts of tartness.
The taste seems to be more complex to me. Besides what I noted, I get fruity tartness and vinegar like sourness with really deep in the background cracker malt with hints of white
pepper.
A surprisingly thick mouthfeel for a beer with this relatively low abv.
Outstanding!
4.0[9148-20170420] 375mL bottle. Light hotel soap fruity yeast aroma. Slightly hazy, orange body with a long-lasting foamy off-white head and some lacing. Funky fruity berry yeast flavour has a lingering sour finish. Medium-full body is quite sour. Tasty but surprising at first. (8/4+/8/4/16) 4.0

4.30.375l bottle. Hazy orange body with a quickly collapsing white head. The first smell shows an intense vinegar character that is followed by some tangerine, apples and grapefruit. Taste of apple cider vinegar, grapefruit, salt and peach. Surprisingly thick bodied and silky. Fruity, sour and salty at the same time. Exciting beer.
4.1Bottle brought back from Edinburgh at Christmas. Solid recommendaysh from Benh. Glad I grabbed it. This was really good. Pours Golden with a lovely White head and a nice hoppy Lucozade aroma. Nice full flavour with a very pleasing sourness and a tart citrus finish. Wonderful beer.
4.1Bottle from Martin’s fairview. Pours amber with white head. Citrus, tart flavour. Lovely beer.
4.00.375l bottle @ Kælderkold. Looks nice this. It has cloudy golden almost orangeish looking body with a tall and lasting near fluffy white head that’s leaving lots of nice curtains down the glass. It smells absolutely lovely. Citrus all the way. It’s sorrel sour with tones of unripe gooseberries and white currants. Fruit hoppy. Some wood also in this lovely blend. Nice! Doesn’t taste much worse either. It’s mild oily in the mouth and just above average on the carbonation. Citrus sour not too much though cause it’s a mild sour one this. Really zesty with both orange and lime peel. White currants and a little rhubarb. Loaded with freshness and good flavors. Nice! 15.08.2016
4.1Bottle. Pours hazy yellow gold with a large fluffy head that slowly settles to a fluffy film. Aroma is mild sour funk citrus fruit hay. Taste is bitter sour funky rotten fruit with hay malt yeast. Palate is medium and mouthwatering.
3.5Bottle. Deep golden body with an off-white head. Aroma of citrus, lemon, wood, peach. The flavor is moderately sweet, lightly bitter and lightly to moderately acidic. It finishes lightly to moderately sweet, lightly bitter and moderately acidic. Medium body, watery texture, lively carbonation. Taste of citrus, peach, wood, straw, barnyard. Nice depth.
3.62017-04-20. Very lightly hazy yellow body with a modest off white head. 3+ Aroma has very subtle funk, light fruit. Hints at lemon or pineapple but I can’t quite place it. 7++ Flavour is similar, light funk throughout, light fruit, lightly bready pale malt briefly. Finishes dry and then has a very slight rough almost earthy character that detracts just a touch for me. 7+ Smooth average bodied palate, soft carbonation. 7-8/3-4/7/3/16+ Bottled at Birreria Volo, Toronto.
3.4Draft. A hazy yellow beer with a white head. The aroma has notes of malt, hops, and fruits. The flavor is sweet with notes of malt, hops, and fruit, leading to a tart finish.
4.1375 ml bottle, bottled February 2016. Served in a MadTree Teku, the beer pours a mostly clear dark gold color with about an inch and a half off-white head. Head retention and lacing are both good. Aroma is nice, the brew smells like citrus, tropical fruit, bready malt and some grassiness. For the most part I think the taste is similar to the aroma, but there’s also some lemon peel, white grape and earthy flavors noticeable too. Mouthfeel/body is medium, it’s a bit coating with a good amount of carbonation. I liked this sour ale, definitely worth picking up if you’ve never had it before!
3.712 oz bottle dated December 2014. Nice bannana and bit of clove with some Meyer lemon. Really well made.
4.3Magnifique sour, fruitée odeur et gout citronné, carbonatation légère mais dense. belle couleur d’un jaune tirant vers l’orangé, légèrement acide, une perfection!
3.8September 19, 2015 - at Beaverton for the Rainbow event - draught. Mostly clear bubbly gold with a solid frothy white head. Lemon drops over a solid citrus/tropical fruit APA - that’s a nice aroma on a hot sunny day. Taste follows, but less PA character, more acidic lemon, and simpler than that aroma. Airy, acidic, building lemon acid - approaches bile levels of acidity in the linger; not off-putting though, just a bit aggressive.
4.0Bottle at Courtyard. Awesome body, effervescence. World Class stuff. Mellow sour tones, not overboard. Great.
4.1First distribution to Ohio, 375ml bottle. Bright cloudy orange color with small white head. Aroma is yeasty and vinous. Flavor has slight sourness at first, with grassy and earthy yeast flavors taking over. Just a bit sour and just a bit funky. Very good overall.
It’s sad that at $7/bottle this is one of their cheapest beers. It’s nice to splurge while they’re new in town, but it won’t last. Their prices are absolutely insane. They sell 12oz bottles for the same price as Jolly Pumpkin and The Bruery’s 25oz bottles, and the quality is not twice as good. It’s good- not saying it’s not good. But come on. It’s all hype, and sours have been the trendy thing the past couple years, so whatever.
