Hop aroma and flavor dominate this IPA. However, the malt character of this deep amber colored ale nicely balances the hop component thus avoiding a harsh bitterness. A truly quaffable beverage!

3.0355ml can. At last, a SD tick, missed out on ND though. Pours a clear gold with a bright white head. Aroma is toffee and herbs, some citrus. Flavor is a bit melony, herbs, bready malt, not super bitter, searching for more bittenress.
3.020/VII/17 - 12Fl. Oz. can from a trade, shared @ home - BB: no date on the can (2017-1052) Thanks to Ryan for the trade!
New State Tick!
Clear orange beer, creamy irregular off-white head, little stable, adhesive, leaving some lacing in the glass. Aroma: pretty sweet, some honey, oxidised? Ripe tropical fruits, some citrus, something sweet, malty. MF: soft carbon, medium body. Taste: pretty sweet, honey, malty, grains, bitter, very harsh bitterness, some tropical fruits in the distance. Aftertaste: bitter, bit resinous, piny, citrus, grapefruit, passion fruit touch, very hoppy, dry finish. Is this too old or just not very good? (the other ratings suggest the latter)
3.6Can shared with Adamnowek and tderoeck. Many thanks! Hazy colour, white foam. Lots of pine and citrus, but also sweet malty. Easy drinkable. Not bad.
3.2Can with tderoeck and JefVerstraete. Clear and bold golden with a dense little head. Smells like pine needles, honey, kumquat, and a bit of fresh topsoil. Taste is somewhat sweet and malty, so this might not be the freshest can this side of the Atlantic.
2.8Keg @ JL Beers, South Fargo. Gold pour with a lasting white head. Fairly neutral nose. A kiss of pine cone, resin. A bit of lemon peel. Fairly blunt bitterness. Cake batter body and honey. Drinks heavier than it actually is.
2.4Poured from a can. Clear golden color, medium frothy white head. Dusty foot aroma. Light body with a bitter floral flavor with a bitter finish.
2.8A dusty mineral hop aroma, pours a clear orange color with a thin short lasting head. Dry mouth feel and a mineral hop taste with a bitter chalky finish.
2.912 oz. can, consumed on 12-29-16. Labeled as “Crow Peak 11th Hour IPA.” Pours golden with a large amount of cream-colored head. Clear liquid. Good lacing. Fresh aroma features scents of golden raisin, lemon, and grapefruit. Somewhat chemical in flavor. A bit of cream. Woodchip and melon. Some bitterness. Medium body. Forgettable palate effects. Overall, on the right track but has a ways to go.
3.2Bright fruity nose. English low bite malty taste to this. Dry finish that lingers is nice. Very drinkable. Very boring. Thanks for the trade and another South Dakota beer Ron!
2.412 oz can. The beer is bright gold in color. Perfectly clear. White head, fairly thick. Some lacing. Piney hops with light peachy fruitiness. Pretty mild. Pale malt sweetness in the background. Taste has assertive bitterness. Very bland hop flavor in the taste. Just some pine resin. Light malt sweetness right up front. Finishes dry and bitter. Light feel. Not good.
3.1Draught at the Crow Peak Brewing Co, Spearfish, SD.
Clear deep golden color with a small white head.
Really English style IPA aroma with fruit tea and floral hops, sweetness and malt. The flavor is sweet, bitter, floral hoppy and malty. A bit unbalanced and way too English. Low carbonation.
3.4Tap at brewery. Nose is floral and bitter pine. Tastes quite astringent, you get some pine, floral, dish soap, grass. Bitter finish. Overall pleasant though
3.3Can muled back by Nick on the wild west shag wag tour pour avg gold with moderate white head. Nose pine, slight vegetal, hint of fruit. Taste light bitter up front, pine, some sweet malt. Light sweet fruit. A little better as it warms. Light bitter finish. Another state down.
2.7Not the best IPA, but the best I’ve had from South Dakota (my first). A bit on the astringent side and unfortunately unbalanced, favoring the piney hops. Tried with Jess at Yia Yias after the Omaha-Lincoln ride in 2016.
3.3Hazy amber/gold color; Medium creamy body; Aroma of malt, pine hops, & fruit/citrus; Flavor of sweet malt, caramel, pine hops, and fruit/citrus; Finish is slightly bitter; On the sweet side – but decent overall.
3.6On tap. Pours a clear orange with a thin tan head. Aroma of light fruits, floral hops. Flavor of pale malts, floral hops, apple skins, bitter hops. Not super hoppy, features more floral and fruity hops.

2.2Can. Pours a clear, yellow-orange color with a soapy white head. Aroma is piney, some citrus, cereal, pennies. Taste is pretty light, some citrus, bitter. This is fairly bland, taste fades almost immediately. Maybe its old?
3.012oz can to tulip. Pours mostly clear amber with heavy sediment, white dissipating ring head. Aroma of citrus, earth, and some pine wood. Taste of same with some candi sweetness and orange/grapefruit bitter finish. Kind of flat for style.
3.4Aroma of citrus and pine. Good hop profile that gives way to a buttery maltiness. Not bad really.
3.0Picked up in Rapid City when we had to land there after a divert -- Pretty good IPA. Good Hops and Good malt backbone. Would drink more.
2.912oz can pours a clear copper with some cloudy, white head. Nose has rusty metal, carrot, pine, soap. Flavor has malt, honey, pine, orange. Crisp finish.
3.3Pours a crystal clear golden color with white head. Tastes fine, but the aftertaste is strong/bitter
3.212oz can. Poured a light orange color with a small off-white head. Aroma was light bitter notes, very minor resin and floral notes. A little dusty. Earthy.
2.4Pretty average. Pours golden with OK head. Finish has him of bitterness. Big thanks to Dclawyer for this one. Can.
3.2On tap in Sioux Falls. No detailed notes - average IPA, maybe a little more malty than some might like for the style.
2.8Can from brads trip...again thx man...purchased on black hills trip....nice dark golden pour....solid head....decent lacing....maltier than i expected...very drinkable..hops more prevalent in finish....(#531)...
3.3Can thanks to Marc. Pours a clear yellow orange with a white head. Aromas of grassy hops and wet leaves with a mild hint of citrus. Taste is medium bitterness. Body is medium to light. Pretty unremarkable but nothing wrong with it.
2.9Can. No date. Bland. Super light thin body. Very stale/ muted hop flavor and taste. Not super enjoyable first South Dakota beer. I'll chalk it up to being old and try em again.
3.3Pour on tap at Independence Ale House, slightly hazy orange pour with white head, aroma brought notes of orange, pine, grass, herbal notes into a bit of bread, biscuit, some spice. Taste was a mix of orange, more pine, resin, grass into lots of spice, some bread and malty dough, finishing fairly bitter.
2.9Can->SA. Clear bright lite copper with small white head. A: strong floral hops, with some citrus, herbs, grass. T: bitter pine hops, grass, citrus peel. Lingering bitter aftertaste. Thin, dry. Eh.
