Driven by wanderlust and a desire for discovery, the Curious Traveler™ set out to explore the globe. Always fearlessly inquisitive, he relished opportunities to befriend other travelers and to experience cultures he had only previously imagined. He sampled their wares, their foods and most importantly their libations. Some were good. Some not so good. Others were downright dangerous.
Many years into his travels, his pace slowed on a particularly sweltering day. He sought refuge in a small pub to escape the oppressive heat. Before he could even finish wiping his brow, the bartender handed him a glistening glass of ale. The Traveler took a liking to the invigorating lemon shandy concoction. “Quite a refresher!” he said gratefully.
The Traveler has never stopped exploring – in fact, he’s on the road this very day. Somewhere. Only one thing has changed: he now makes sure he orders a shandy everywhere he goes.

3.1Lemon shandy, but such a strong essence, I couldn’t dismiss the thought of "gumdrops" from my mind; like an old-time lemon candy. (at 2015 Summer Beer Dabbler, St. Paul, MN)
2.4Yellow beer with a white head. Aroma of fresh lemon peel. Tastes of some citrus zest, lemon peel, and wheat. Semi-sweet finish. A bit one dimensional and lemonade-like. Refreshing.
2.4These have taken the place of wine coolers. No aroma. Looks like lemonade and tastes like it too. A little to sweet and not overly complex but I don’t think they were trying to be.
2.2Bottle from Total Wine in Folsom, CA. As Curious Traveler Lemon Shandy. Pours hazy, dirty gold with a slight white head. Aroma is rather "fresh" lemon. Med minus body. Flavor starts a bit wheaty, moves to lemon, gets back to wheat. Might be good on a hot day, but ...
3.0Pint at Big'z. Cloudy yellow orange with a medium white head. Fruity lemon aroma. Sweet flavor, a little bit of wheatiness. Not bad. A good summer evening beverage.
2.4Bottle. Pours a hazy yellow color. Aroma and taste are sweet orange and fruits.
2.7opaque pour with minimal white head. a bit more body than other shandys I’ve had as of late. Lemon, honey, biscuity, decent stuff.
2.8The beer pours a opaque golden color with a large white head that fades quickly. The aroma has a lot of lemon juice and zest, and the taste is slightly bitter and mildly sweet with a lot of lemon flavor without much else to it. The palate fuses an average carbonation, medium body, and a thick texture.
2.8Bottle. 10th radler/shandy. Pours yellow white head. Nose/taste of lemon juice, wheat, light sweet sugar - light bodied. Refreshing, I guess.
2.7Bottle. Cloudy yellow color, coca cola bubbles. Aroma of lemonade, pineapple. Taste is very fruity citrus, subtle cherry, more pineapple.
3.612 oz bottle, thanks Poisoneddwarf- Pours very hazy light golden with a one finger white head that reduces slowly. The aroma is refreshing, lemony, zest, clean. The taste is lemon, wheat, yeast, light tart, refreshing. Simple, most shandys are after all, i enjoyed it, hit the spot on a hot day.
3.312 oz bottle. Aroma is better than the grapefruit, thankfully. It’s strong in lemon and lemon peel, grainy, generic beer, and most importantly doesn’t have that vomity character the grapefruit had. Cloudy orange-gold pour with a medium white head with decent retention. Nice extreme lemon character, peel and juice; wheaty. High carbonation, thin body. Much better than the grapefruit shandy overall.
3.2Poured from bottle hazy gold with a frothy foam. Aromas of fresh lemon and zest. Taste is beer with lemon not overly lemonade like.
2.0Not my thing...rating could be biased...sample from work...every time i try one of these i think what is the point....(#539)....
2.8nice mostly natural lemon aroma and flavor with light malt and a spritzy feel that kinda works for the style.
4.1Poured from a 12 OZ bottle into a pint glass. A good flavorful shandy, that was refreshing. I would drink it again
3.212 ounce bottle poured into a brandy snifter. The beer is a vibrant, hazy gold color with a big white head of foam. The aroma is very lemony. Lots of zest. The beer just tastes like lemonade, really. Not bad. I could drink this stuff.
3.0Sampled on 6/26/2015. This fruit beer/shandy pours a slightly cloudy orange gold color from a 12 oz bottle. Small to medium sized white foamy head. The aroma is lemon fruity and sweet. A light to medium bodied fruit beer. The malts are fruity and sweet, with a whole bunch of lemon and citrus. Decent carbonation. It’s kind of sweet, and the lemon flavors are very evident, but there is a malt backbone in there as well. Mouthfeel is full and round. Finish is clean. Aftertaste is lemony and sweet.
2.9On tap from Social House in Ft. Worth. Little neonish pour with a big white head. Aroma is lemon and grain. Taste is sweet, grainy, and definite lemonade.
3.012oz bottle from The Grapevine
Pours hazy straw yellow with a medium sized white head, some lacing. Aroma of lemon and wheat. Taste is lemon, wheat, grains with a mild bitterness
Ok.
2.7Unlike leinenkugel summer shandy, I notice a nice frothy malt flavor that is present among the lemon flavor. The lemon flavor is still very apparent and strong, but you also get that frothy malt flavor that makes it taste like a beer. Tastes like a lemon flavored beer, and not like a lemonade with a beer flavor. One of the better commercial shandys.
2.6Pours yellow gold with a medium with quickly fading head white fritz head. Aroma is sweet fruity, lemon and orange notes. Taste same as aroma with a bit of light malt on the back end. Palate is light bodied, mild soda like carbonation. Finish is sweet fruity flavors mostly lemon and orange and light malt. A ok brew for what ii is, good for summer time drinking.
2.1Hazy sunset appearance with wispy white head. Strong citrus and artificial lemon aromas abound. Not much in the hops or malt category. Tastes like carbonated lemonade. Could be refreshing, but hard to classify as a beer.
2.9Bottle from Fred Meyer. Hazy yellow straw in color. Aroma is smells like a wheat ale with some spice and a hint if lemon. Not a super sweet shandy. Tastes more like a standard wheat ale to me.
2.8Strong lemon taste with a good head and lacing. Strong yellow in color. With lemon and yeast in the nose.
2.6Sampled from the tap at the St. Paul Summer Beer Fest. Pours a cloudy pale gold with a white head that dissipates to the edges. Aroma is straight lemonade with a bit of sweetness underlying. Flavor has a bit more of a sweet grain note but really it lemonade coming through.
2.8Tap @ Social 52. Hazy yellow with thin head. Lemon pledge. Flavor is a little sweet and wheaty.
2.912 Fl. Oz. Bottle. Poured cloudy orange, nice white head and some lacing on the glass. Aroma of lemons, malts and yeast. Taste of lemons and bread with a bit of yeast. Refreshing and easy to drink but certainly not great.
2.6Cloudy yellow color. heavy lemon aroma. lemon flavor with citrus mixed in . moderate carbination and smooth on the palate.
2.812 oz bottle from Hy Vee Wine & Spirits - Muscatine. Cloudy orange appearance with a lacy white head. Lemon zest and toasted grains. Crisp, somewhat dry and pretty easy to drink.
