2.8 330ml twist off bottle served in a Weizen glass. A: Pours a deep amber to brown color forming a medium tan head. Low retention with a very persistent thin layer left on the top. Very few lacings left S: Quite sweet in the nose. Followed by roasted malts and bready Lager yeasts. Notes of milk and butter too which gives the impression that some diacetyl are left. Some alcohol can be noticed in the very end, despite of the low ABV T: Quite sweet upfront. Toffee, roasted malts, caramel malts, bready yeasts, notes of coffee, butter and light hop bitterness in the very end M: Light bit creamy and bit molasses body. Medium to low carbonation. Bittersweet aftertaste O: Medium to drinkability. Too sweet. Not recommend [ BA Review @ 9/25/2012 ]
2.6 Bottle. Country #78. Pours dark brown color, beige head. Aroma is malty, port wine. Taste is sweet, malty roasted, coffee, chocolate.
3.1 Bottle. Clear dark brown color with small beige head. Chocolate aroma. Caramel, chocolate, ash. Full body. Overall sweet, but not cloying. Warming alcohol.
2.6 Bottle. Aroma caramel, chocolate. Worty. Very dark colour. Taste is very sweet, cloying, caramel, chocolate, roasted, worty. Quite good beer if it was not overwhelmingly sweet.
2.2 Aroma: malty sweet Flavor: malty sweet and notes of sugar cain and slightly roasted caramel. Colir: almost black with a white head.
2.7 Bottle from Bierpostamt, Schwerin. Almost black with an off-white head. Aroma is sweet, malty, dark sugar and a little roasted malt. Flavor is quite sweet and light bitter. Sweet finish. 170514
2.5 Sehr dunkel rötlichbraunes Bier mit schöner Schaumkrone. Geruch leicht röstmalzig, Kaffee. Geschmack röstmalzig, leicht schokoladig, Kaffee.
2.8 Bottle 0.33l. Pours almost black with beige head. Aroma is malty, molasses, slightly roasted. Taste is very sweet, light bitter, very malty, slightly roasted. Aftertaste is sweet. Tastes like a german Malzbier with alcohol. Not bad but way too sweet for me.
2.9 Bottle sample at a tasting at Beer Market Jaffa. Thanks tomer, pours dark brown clear with a beige head, aroma is roasted with chocolate, honey, flavor of plum, chocolate and some roast, medium bodied
2.7 Aroma dulce y cafe, cuerpo medio y poco foamy, de sabor dulce suave sintiendo sabor de la malta y a suave cafe tostado.
3.3 This Peruvian beer pours with a dark brown color and a tan colored head, about two fingers of it with average retention. The aroma was expected, but still very nice - roasted malts, caramel and coffee. It’s neither too strong, nor too weak. The taste follows the nose. Sweet and roasted malts complemented by some caramel and coffee. Enjoyable, smooth, drinkable.
2.5 330 ml bottle. BB 03/Abr/2014. (Carrefour) Cocentaina, Spain. Dark reddish brown almost black colour with a small light tan head. Toasted malt, potato starch, brown sugar, sweetness and mild dryness in the aroma. The flavour is starch, malt, brown sugar and sugary sweetness. Sweet and starchy Schwarzbier.
2.8 Bottle sample at a tasting at Beer Market Jaffa. Thanks tomer. Very dark brown, opaque, tan head. Sweet chocolate and sugary aroma, sweet coffee taste. Light body, smooth, sweet aftertaste. A scoop of vanilla ice cream would be nice to have with this beer. Vegan ice cream, of course.
2.7 At a tasting, thanks teddybeer, clear dark brown with some lightish taints, aroma of dark bread, figs and dates, flavour of dried fruits and and caramel, with some charred wood in the back, extremely sweet as if someone intentionally put extra sugar inside. Drinkable but could have been better with less sweetness.
2.6 Bottle sample at a tasting at Beer Market Jaffa. Thanks tomer. Dark brown to black with a tan head. Aroma of malt, caramel, some roastiness, milk chocolate, ice coffee notes and nutty notes. Sweetish and sugary flavor with ice coffee, some milk chocolate and a slightly drier and more roasty finish. Light to medium-bodied.
1.7 Hard to say anything nice about that one. Sweetish, artificial and kinda cheap. Well, it is still drinkable but more of being a syrup than a beer.
2.9 Pours out of the bottle in a deep black colour with low steady head and medium to thin body. Aroma of malt and woods. Taste of malt, dark grains, nuts, torf and leaves. Light spicy hints. Easy to drink but just nothing that interesting or nice.
3.0 Duft av krydder og malt. Fin mørk kastanje brun farge. Lite skum.
2.2 A nice Peruvian dark beer. Quite a contrast to the lighter lagers u find in Peru.
3.1 Clear black brown colour, white head. Aroma of caramel, malts, light cacao, red fruits. Nose reminding of a non-alcoholic malts drink. Sweet malty flavour, caramel, malts and liquorice roots. Sweet caramel finish. Not bad, and another country tick. (From 33cL bottle @ weekly tasting, Oirschot. Thanks for sharing, Benzail!)
1.9 33cl. the beer starts sweet and malty. Like a malt beverage with alcohol. But very watery. Especially for 5.6%. And very sweet - too sweet for a beer. Probably too sweet for a good malt beverage as well. The aftertaste is long - the dark brown sugars and the maltyness stay long. Nearly no hops visable. --> Sweet dark watery brew - nothing worth to mention. --> 6/12/5/6
2.5 Bottle [thanks to Teddybeer] @ weekly tasting. Opaque very dark brown to black color, medium sized beige head. Smell and taste malts, wort, sweetish. Low to average body and carbonation.
2.9 Bottle @ benzai thx to benzai. Cola colour with no head. Smells malts, very sweet, salty, caramel, some chocolate. Tastes very malty. Malty as fuck basicly. Thin to medium body, soft carbo.
2.2 Cerveza peruana con aroma de café y caramelo suave en boca pero para mi gusto un poco insípida
3.3 Bottle, 5.6%. Fat, roasted aroma. Very dark brown colour, red shine. Small tan head. The flavour is very malty and sweet. Lots of maltose, but not quite molassis. Similar to hvidtøl. I like it.
2.8 Bottle. Pours clear very dark copper brown with airy tan head. Clear aroma of malt and caramel with notes of molasses and roast. Sweetish flavour of caramel and malt with a note of sweetener. Mildly bitter, slightly metallic finish, otherwise sweet. Not the best Schwarzbier I’ve tasted (it is one at all?), but drinkable.
3.0 Bottle at hostel in Arequipa. From bottle so no idea about the colour and visual. Malty roasted hinted aroma sweeter hinted. Medium palate. Finish is lighter suggary malty worth a longer sweet sugary hint. Misses some body.
1.6 330ml bottle. Diacetil, lot of caramel aromas. Pours black, some tan head, vanishing, no lacing. Light to medium body, average carbonation, oily texture. Taste is some liquorice, coffee. Watery, too light and unbalanced, very sweet. Unpleasant.
