4.2Stone bottle purchsaed at The Mead hall in McMinnville OR
$30
pours a rose colour.
Boozy wine aromas..some floral aspects..this smells like a good drinking sherry.
Taste bright juicy fruit and sherry..pleasing alcohol and spring berries. Honey shows in the end..luscious
Nice medium mouth feel..nice berry sweetness on the tongue.
My first real mead..and its delicious..i could drink way too much of this baby!
4.4Bottle from Whole Foods Market in Campbell, CA. Aroma is sake, floral nectars, honey, rosé wine. Taste is sweet but delicate floral, herbal notes, mild port wine. Who knew Viking Blod could be this sophisticated?!
3.9750ml bottle. Pinkish red shade. No head. Sweet tasting. Strawberry and winter berry flavours. Floral. Meaty kind of BBQ taste. Little hint of strength. Nice mead.
3.6Bottle sample at The Hop Shop. Reddish color, still. Floral cherry and rose wine aroma. Taste is sweet floral berries full body. Tasty
4.6Bottle from Total Wine and More in Reston, VA

Delicious
3.6Bottiglia.
4.6Upon hearing " I'd be a lot warmer and a lot happier with a belly full of mead " for the thousandth time while playing Skyrim, I went to look for mead for the first time. Couldn't be happier that I did! Viking Blod is warm but not overly alcoholic, fragrant but not overpowering, looks great, tastes ridiculously good, bottle's cool....can't recommend it enough. Great drink anytime!
3.8Glass at the Winking Lizard Reynoldsburg on 3/15/18. Pours clear amber with no head and sticky legs. Nose of honey and citrus juice. Sweet honey flavor with a boozy character before a lemon finish.
3.5750mL bottle from Vintage Wines. Floral aromas, hibiscus, red berries, honey. Clear deep gold. Sweet but balanced, hibiscus makes for a nice bittering flavor. full bodied.
3.7On tap at The Hay Merchant. Pours a hazy copper gold with no head. The aroma is strong honey, booze, earth. Thin body, caramel, honey, butterscotch, boozy, very good.
4.3My birthday is tomorrow (26 August), but it’s already that date in Japan, whence comes a good portion of my DNA. I am at least 1/4 Scandinavian, which means that there are bound to be some Vikings amongst my ancestors. 19%? Better drink this s-l-o-w-l-y. Good thing the bottle comes with its own stopper - I’ll still be sipping this come my true day of hatching.
Anyhoo: Pours clear golden, as I expect mead to do. Aroma offers a strong alcohol bite - and I mean a bite like an angry Rottweiler - along with raw honey. Flavor presents honey and alcohol, no surprise the latter considering the ABV. Gadzooks, 750ml of this would get King Kong stewed! Mouthfeel delivers thick body and a firm honey finish. Viking Blood indeed!
5.0I have not tasted a better Mead yet!!!!
4.5The Blod of the Nordlaander est like that of a dragonne. Thick wit honey und heather fom oer’ mountainsyde fields, und wit a fierey tung of flame, like ’twas borne within the forges of Surtr. Beware mortals. Sip upon this Blod wit moderashun, as it culd fell the Jottnar people, or melt de haart of Freya. Drink at lease 1 hour b’fore battle to enter the bezerkker state, like the Úlfhéðnar wolf warriors of Öland.
Let a man hold the cup,
yet of the mead drink moderately,
speak sensibly or be silent.
As of a fault
no man will admonish thee,
if thou goest betimes to sleep.
4.1This stuff is sold in a heavy ceramic bottle. Certainly looks the part, and costs it too, at about $30. Pours up a medium gold color, like apple juice, with no head at all. Aroma is sweet fruit, some apple. The flavor is very sweet, like honey, with the same apple taste, and maybe wild flowers. Not bad at all, but it is nothing like a beer. Seems closer to a sweet wine to me, with healthy alcohol content. Kind of syrup like texture. Overall it would make a great desert drink, definitely not something you could drink a lot of at one time. 19% ABV is not for the faint of heart, or weak stomach, and if you ever got sick off wine this is NOT your drink!!
3.9Belmont Station, Portland. Cask. Clear dark amber, heavy look. Hot, boozy nose. Great botanicals. Reminds me of genever. Rich, modestly sweet. Very little burn. Heavy, thick body. Really tasty.
4.0This mead is one of the best i have ever tasted, served "on tap" at my local german pub. Mead with obviously no head as it is a mead, golden bronze in colour with plenty of flavour. Smoky taste with a noticeable 19%. Reccomend you to NOT fill a normal beer glass and use a scotch glass to save you from a DUI. Well representing honey in the aste and consistency.
3.4Clear golden color with no head. Strong alcohol aroma. Quite sweet with a strong honey character and notable alcohol.
Notes: Bottle pour at Aces & Ales (Nellis) Winter Beer Fest ’17
3.6On tap at Belmont Station, pours a clear golden, no head. Aroma brings out lots of mulled wine, nectar and alcohol. Flavour is intensely sweet, with intense honey, nectar and alcohol. Both the sweetness and alcohol are intensely high, and bordering cloying, but it’s a pleasure to drink such luxury.
2.7floral and faint fruity aromas. dark gold, hint of peach color and clear in color. taste is very sweet, of honey, light caramel, faint floral notes.
3.1Bottle at the RateBeer DC Cider tasting. Clear golden orange. Aromas of rubbing alcohol, floral notes. Tastes of honey, caramel, light sweet apples. Light body with a dry syrupy finish.
3.7750ml ceramic bottle at the December 2017 DC area cider tasting, thanks to DCLawyer for bringing this beast to the party. This one poured a kind of velvet-dark yellow color, totally still. Aroma was light boozy sweet honey notes, light smoke character hidden in there. Flavor was smooth sweetness, smoky. This was really drinkable for for 19%.
3.6750 ml bottle purchased at Total Wine Pembroke Pines, FL for $26.99. Very good.
3.1From a bottle at the RB cider tasting December 2016. Pours a clear copper no head. Boozy aroma. Heavy sweet flavors with some spice. A bit overbearing.
3.3Aroma is apples honey and spices. Appearances a clear medium dark amber. Flavor is honey spices and a hint of patchouli, which I detest.
3.6Burnt orange colour. Aroma of wildflower and alcohol burn. Tastes fairly dry, with a hint of orange blossom and petrol. Drinks easy for 19%.
2.9Bottle shared by Ace at fire pit night. Poured a clear dark honey orange-brown. Aroma of sweet honey, herbs, medicinal and a slight hint of wood. Flavor is big time alcohol, sweet honey, herbs, slightly vinous. Body is a bit harsh with loads of heat. This mead makes no attempt to hide the fact that it’s 19%.
2.6Second attempt at this one. Still a strong alcoholic smell that was a little off-putting. Light honey color. Flavor was honey and alcohol. Still a little boozy. Light and smooth.
2.4Sampled on draft this mead poured a dark brown color with no head and no lacing. The aroma was sweet, woody, smoky and medicinal. The flavor was sweet with a strong medicinal presence, band aid, tobacco, smoke, honey and vague alcohol. Long finish. Full body. The alcohol burn grows and overwhelms.
3.0Sample on tap @ Vintage Estates. Pours a light caramel honey color with no head. Aroma is sweet honey with a strong alcohol presence. Flavor is mostly super sweet honey with a big alcohol base. The honey is so sweet it masks the alcohol burn. Kind of like cough syrup but way too sweet. The too primary ingredients of honey and alcohol drown out any other flavors. Recommend for sipping only. It was actually difficult to finish the last swallow due to its over powering sweetness.
3.7Bottle pours golden with no head. Aroma of honey, herbs and fruit. Taste is sweet honey and herbs.
