Lands halfway between an English and American brown, full of caramel, chestnuts, and hazelnuts, but also with an admirable U.S. hop streak, not dominant but enough to fight off any cloying esters. Mild chocolate comes through underneath, leading to a general malt parade of a pint. Decent pour, coming out a healthy red-brown with a slight off-white head and light lacing. Nose is pure caramel malt, nothing else. Texture’s right, full but brisk and creamy. Extra hops would be nice, but a solid brown as-is.
Tap at the source. Pours chestnut brown, tan head. Aroma is chestnut, chocolate, roasted malt, maybe caramel. Flavor is roasted malt, chocolate, chestnut, brown ale. Decent.
Bottle sample at a tasting at Lior D’s place. Thanks Stas and Max. Murky brown. Old chestnuts and some old chocolate aroma, sweet, slightly bitter, nutty taste with lots of chocolate milk. Medium body, fizzy, long chocolate malt and slightly alcoholic finish.
12oz bottle. Mahogany pour with a wispy head of light tan cream. Rich nutty aroma is full of complexity. Flavors are also complex, with just a hint of alcohol. Full body. This is a monster brown ale.
A dark brown with a beige head. Aroma contains coffee, chocolate, toffee, and nutmeg. The flavor is slightly sweet and dry with some caramel, chocolate, toffee. The finish is nutty like me. Overall a good brown ale.

Easy drinking and good for style. Light roast and some nut. Brown pour with big puffy head like cumulo nimbus. Bittwrsweet finish with touch of caramel. Bottle.

Geiles Brown Ale, wobei fast schon Imperial. Sowohl von den %, als auch vom Taste. Zuerst ein deftiger Duft von Karamel, Kaffee, Röstmalz und Speck. Respekt. Die Optik ist tiefgründig amberbraun und läßt schon einige Rückschlüsse auf das folgende Geschmackinferno zu. Zuerst BSDA UND DOPPELBOCK LIKE, malty und dryfruity, später auch noch braun schlanker Hopfenfetzer. Kann man machen 😁. Ganz am Ende kommt sogar noch eine kleine Zarbitterschokobrettoinfusion. Bottle at home (4.8.14). Pours brown with almost no head. Aroma of alcohol, light roasted malts, chocolate, coffee. Taste is over moderate sweet and light bitter, sweet toasted malty aftertaste. Not bad.
Almost black body with no head.Maybe the glass was dirty.Aromas of liquorice,coffee,some roasted,dark fruits.The body is light to medium.Tastes sweet malt,coffee,roasted,alcohol.
On Tap. Pours brown with tall, long lasting, fluffy, off-white head. Aroma is of toasted malt, dark fruit, brown sugar and coffee. Body is medium and smooth. Taste is of toasted malt, some coffee, dark fruit, herbal hops, some spices and chocolate. Finish is long and dry. Excellent brew.
Draught @ Valhalla. Murky dark brown with slight reddish tint, small foamy beige head, very faint mocha aroma, medium carbonation, lightly bitter roasted malt taste, thin body, medium bitter finish. Quite smooth and well rounded

Bottle at home. Aroma is dark malt, caramel, dark bread, notes of chocolate, bit nutty, brown sugar, touch of raisins and some dark fruits. Flavour is above medium sweet and light to moderate bitter. Slightly sticky. Body is medium. An okay Brown Ale, pretty sweet with some sugary notes that I could have done without, good rich malts and cocoa notes though.
Tap at Stella’s. Dark brown with light brown head, served in a goddamn jar. Cocoa, sweet roasted malts, maple, brown sugar and light wood. Medium sweet and almost medium bitter. Slightly over medium bodied.
Bottle, beer club. Nice brown ale. Toffee, caramel, malts just the right amount of sweetness. Good beer.
Bottle (from beergium). Pours dark ruby brown with beige head. The head stays for a moment. Aroma is very sweet, caramel candy, malt, slight peanut butter. Flavor is sweet and bitter, caramel, malt, nuts, some fruits. Finish is dry-nutty bitter with some lingering sweetness and slight alcohol burn. Overall: well-made brown ale (maybe bit too boozy), but by the numbers brown ale is very boring (because brown ale is boring style...).
12 ounce bottle from Total Wine in Medford, a watery brown ale, was hoping for more.
All malt smell, taste is malt with low hops...slight bitterness on finish...a bit watery and one dimentional but not bad...touch of sweetness
Dark briwn, small airy beige head. Malty, roasted aroma, some dried fruit. Flavour is sweetish, has more dried fruit which turns slightly boozy. Finishes roasted with decent bitterness.

reddish dark brown ale with a thick frothy lacing mocha head. In aroma, nice nutty caramel malt with resinous herbaceous floral hops, light coffee, nutty notes, nice. In mouth, a nice bitter chocolate with coffee grind, musty character, herbaceous resinous hops, light mineral notes, very nice. On tap at North Country Brewfest 2016.

Aroma is nutty, malt, slight hop, slight smoke, decent. Appearance is brown, light light tan head. Taste is nutty, slightly watery, slight smoke, malt, somewhat robust. Mouthfeel is medium body, light carbonation, nutty aftertaste. Overall, this is a pretty good Brown that I’m surprised I waited this long to try.
