A richly malty ale, with clear characteristics of dark chocolate and black malt, and hints of black licorice, ale fruitiness, and molasses in the finish.

4.0Kicsi, nem túl tartós hab, fekete szín. Illata csokis, pörkölt malátás. A korty csokis, pörkölt malátás ízekkel indít, a csúcsponton vaskos aszalt gyümölcsös aromák törnek előre, hosszú trüffeles, enyhén kesernyés-édeskés lecsengéssel végződik. Közepesen testes és szénsavas. Kiváló porter, egy hajszálnyit lehetne kevesebb a buborék.
4.3Pours a black body with almost no head. Aromas of coffee, malt, chocolate.Tastes coffee, toasted an slight roasted notes, bread, malt, hops. It is slightly bitter and very well balanced with the sweetness. The body is medium to full.An american interpretation of the style and a successful one.
3.5Bouteille: Very deep amber coloured with a chestnut-like sheen, bigger - but quickly collapsing - tanned head; moderate to solid sweetish and slightly sourish nose of roasted malt, coffee and traces of vanilla; moderate to solid sweet-sourish flavour with a light, but well detectable bitterness, medium bodied, pretty soft; gets drier - as usual - towards the nevertheless sweet and sourish fruity-roasty to caramelly finish with a shy bitterness in the aftertaste. A pleasant and well crafted brew...
3.4Draft at FOB, in Rimini, Italy. Black color, nice fluffy foam cappuccino -color. Aroma reminds of chocolate mostly, with nice intensity. Taste has moderate bitterness and some sweetness, with licorice and some chocolate. Nice dryness. An interesting beer, but maybe a little exaggerated as a porter.

3.212 oz bottle served in a Belgian snifter. Date stamped Nov. 2015.
Pours near black and is opaque in the glass. Most of the weak head is soon gone but there’s some lacing nonetheless.
Aroma: fruity with hints of booze.
Flavor:dark fruit; dark bread; hints of licorice; light alcohol.
Feel:medium body with rather light carbonation. Smooth.
Overall: OK
3.533 cl bottle from Mikkeller Webbshop. Black with a large mocha head. Aroma of roasted malt, dark chocolate, coffee and iron? Taste reflects the aroma. Medium bodied. Medium bitterness. And medium to high carbonation - "too much in my opinion."
