2.8 Dark brown. Quite rich coffee nose. Lighter body, some thicker sweet malts, brown sugar but then a thin coffeeish finish.
3.6 Bottle shared. Thanks Shuichi! Big and bold espresso and roasted coffee notes up front and dominate throughout, but a bit of dark chocolate as it warms. Light body and easy drinking, really tastes like a coffee at room temperature and the mouthfeel is really nice. Finish is roasty but clean. Amazing for 4.2 percent.
3.5 Lukt: Kaffe, lakris, sjokolade. Utseende: Sort. Skum/kullsyre: Dekkende skum, heng langs kant. Smak: Kaffe, frukter, mørk sjokolade, noe bitter avslutning. Hvor: The Moon on the Square, Feltham. Medium: Flaske@500ml, ABV@4,2%, Når@24.06.2016
3.8 Bottle at Cotteridge Wines; dark opaque brown pour with a bubbly tan head, aroma has pleasant coffee and some chocolate, taste has roast coffee, chocolate chips, some roasted malts a hint of dark fruits, light bitterness.
3.6 Pours an almost black colour with a mocha head, good retention and some creamy lacing. Roasted malt aromas with some nice coffee. The flavours shows more the coffee over the roasted malts with hints of chocolate. Seems watered-down, because of the low alcohol content, but overall, a nice coffee stout.
3.3 0,5l bottle at home courtesy of Cuso, big thanks. No obvious BB date. black color, small coffee-colored head. smells of coffee, bitter herbs, quite roasty, some bitter chocolate, light licorice, hints of vanilla. nice smell. light to medium body, soft carbonation, slick mouthfeel. tastes of licorice, vanilla, light roast, some bitter herbs, coffee grounds, hints of chocolate, light fruit notes. finishes rather watery towards the finish, with some roast and notes of bitter herbs, some licorice and light vanilla notes. decent one, not a fan of vanilla so gets a bit of a penalty for that, but overall enjoyable, finish is a bit watery though. plus points for the low ABV.
3.4 Bottle. Nice coffee aroma, sweet malts. Hint of vanilla and cola with a smidge of hops. Quite thin and highly carbonated. Decent enough though.
3.1 Bottle from Countrywise Upton. Think I like it but a bit odd! Plenty of coffee flavour and aroma. Not much else. DeScription is "black beer" not stout?! Definitely a stout though.
3.3 Bottle thanks to Lorna. It pours near black with a small beige head. The nose is rich roast, bitter - sweet, espresso coffee, cacao nibs and burnt treacle. The taste is smooth, bitter, rich roast, coffee, touch of cracked black pepper, touch of acidity and dark chocolate with a dry finish. Light -medium body and fine, prickly carbonation. Perhaps a touch thin, but it is a respectable coffee stout nonetheless.
3.3 Bottle @The Pond, Leith. Pours almost black but with a red tinge, tan head. Nose is coffee, nutty slight chocolate but overwhelmingly coffee. Taste is very much the same, my only problem with it is that its just one coffee taste, needs more depth, nice enough.
3.6 Pours black with a cappuccino coloured head. Aroma is roasted malts, earth but not much else. Not much coffee going on in this brew, roasted malts and earthy taste like the aroma. A nice thick beer though.
3.3 Bottle at home, 24th October 15. Pours watery dark brown, quite carbonated. Aroma is nice coffee, slight cocoa. Taste is bitter, coffee. Carbonation high for the style. OK
3.3 50cl flesje bij Zeezicht, Breda Alcoholpercentage van 4,2% Uitgeschonken in blanco bokaal Uiterlijk: zwart met redelijke cremelaag Aroma en smaak: chocolade, koffie, caramel, gebrande mouten, redelijke bitter Conclusie: lichte stout, bitter blijft lang hangen, Challenger hop niet erg fruitig aanwezig
3.3 Bottle. Nose of chocolate, nuts, coffee. Rather light malt character, nutty espresso and cocoa flavor. A bit thin.

3.4 A deep dark stout with a thick collapsing brown head. In aroma very pleasant resinous coffee grind, espresso, musty and complex. In mouth, a nice sweet fruity chocolate malt with herbaceous character, light bitter chocolate, a bit thin but still solid after 4 years. Bottle from LCBO.
3.6 Bottle; pours very dark brown with a thin khaki head; aroma of roasted coffee and malt with a hint of vanilla; taste is coffee and roast malt with hints of vanilla and licorice; finish is bitter coffee; above average coffee stout
3.8 50cl bottle at home from BeerRitz. Body is nearly black, head is small, beige, creamy, mostly diminishing, good lacing. Nose is coffee, flavor is mild roasted coffee, chocolate, malt, toast. Medium sweet, medium to heavy bitter. Finish is long lasting roasty medium bitter, light sweet, toast. Medium to full body, oily texture, soft carbonation. Easy, tasty dessert beer, simple, great one.
3.5 Bottle. Pours a black colour with a fizzy tan head. Strong aroma of roasted coffee beans, roasted malts, earth, ash and wood. Taste of roasted malts, definite coffee, earth, tobacco, some chocolate and a little caramel. Light bodied and soft carbonation. A dry, roasted coffee finish. If you enjoy coffee, this is definitely the beer for you. It’s so drinkable and could be a morning drink. I like it.
3.0 Bottle shared with bjammin from cellar door, sutton coldfield. Black beer with small head. Aroma of coffee beans and roasted malts. Taste is coffee, roasted malts and a little dryness. Overpowered by the coffee. Ok.

3.8 Bottle from Beermerchants. Pours very dark ruby with a small creamy tanned head. Aroma is lovely fresh grinded coffee, dark bitter chocolate. Smooth and light creamy mouthfeel.Taste is well balanced, lots of coffee, light roasted, chocolate and a weak dry finish with some English fine liquorice. Nice
4.6 Black beer with a short tan head that laces the glass. Fresh uncomplicated roast malt aroma and flavour. Good carbonation. Well balanced although Arabica beans surprisingly understated given the name. Light coffee tones more prominent towards the finish. Delicious
3.6 Ins Glas ergießt sich ein schwarzes Bier mit einer fingerbreiten beigen Schaumkrone. Geruch bitter, viel Kaffee, röstmalzig. Geschmack leicht röstmalzig, Tabak, Kaffee, bitter, ok!
3.3 500 ml bottle from Les Vignerons. Dark brown, looks almost black in the glass, with a big, fluffy and persistent beige head. Subtle but at the same time glorious aroma, notes of coffee powder, sweet milk chocolate, burnt toffee, caramel/mou candies and a hint of vanilla. Some little piney and herbal hoppy notes as well. The taste pretty much follow suite, despite being way less intense and inviting. Definitely more bitter than sweet too, contrary to the aroma. Taste comprises slightly roasted malt, watered down American coffee, licorice extract and some wet cardboard notes. Pleasently smooth and drinkable though, it’s velvety and chuggable almost like a cask ale. Bitter and astringent aftertaste. Average carbonation, light to medium body, slightly oliy texture. OK stout, but the aroma suggested something much more memorable.
3.4 Keg @El Lúpulo Feroz, Oviedo. 05-10-2014. Pours black with nice tan head, frothy one. Coffee, roasty aromas. Medium body, soft carbonation, oily texture. Taste is dry, roasty, bitter, coffee. Enjoyable.
3.8 Smells like expresso served in a Canadian pine forest. Very bitter with dark coffee undertones. Syrupy and deep.
3.1 Nearly black with a small beige head and lots of lacing. Aroma isn’t strong but a nice whiff of coffee. Medium / light body. Milky coffee flavour, with a touch of licquorice coming through.
