3.6Can. Amber coloured beer with a strong white head. The aroma is lightly roasted and hopped. The flavour is smooth and has reasonable bitter and roastedness, with a little yeastiness. Overall a nice American pale ale.
3.533cl Can @ Irreale, Madrid, Spain.
Hazy amber colour with a medium size white head.
Aroma is hops, citrus.
Taste is hops, citrus, fruits.
Aroma is hops, citrus, grapefruit, peach, malt, caramel.
Medium body, average carbonation.
3.5Can at home 28.2.2018.
3.4Out of date can from Hartley’s Wines. Hazy amber with a frothy white head. Aroma is stone fruit and citrus. Tastes smooth, metallic, slightly medicinal with a bitter aftertaste.
3.4On tap at Draft House Chancery, London. Pours cloudy golden with medium white head. Some light hoppiness, citrus, fruit, peach, sweetish, bitterness in finish. Fine carbonation. Medium bodied.
3.2Orange/copper pour. Floral hops and malty bread crust on the nose. Malt engulfs the mouth while strong hops push through like a snow plow. Bold and flavorful. Can @ Legendz, Grand Cayman Island.
3.5A pint in the admiral in Kentish town. Clear copper colour with white lacy thin head. Hoppy fruity aroma and then satisfying sweet bittet taste with biscuity grapefruit and hops notes. Perfectly poured and tasting ale.
2.9A double IPA on cask - a first, for me at least, Starts off good - but a bit too hopped up eh?
3.4The Flying Horse, Gatwick Airport. Keg. Lacing, white foam. Modest orange body, some haze. Nutty malt nose. Some honey, medicinal spice, and fairly malt forward. Warming amber malts. Full and tasty. Spicy bitter finish. Nice.
3.0Old transferred rating. Quite nice pale ale, but it lacked some hoppiness for me.
3.7Pint at The King Tuns (JDW) in Kingston upon Thames. Medium golden colour with a little head.
3.6Cask at Malling Jug, West Malting, Kent UK. Serving temperature was moderately cool. Pours clear golden brown. Minimal head, low carbonation. Light citrus fruit aroma. Powerful hop taste with lingering bitterness. Subtle caramel malt which doesn’t quite balance the hops. Very nice for English IPA.
4.0Cask at The Evening Star, Brighton. A huge huge hoppy hit in this cask beer. An real smack in the face on first drink. Sticks to the mouth a bit and feels the alcohol, but a real treat.
Re-rated. Eastbourne Beer Festival. First few sips are just pure delight. What a gorgeous hoppy beer. So thick ans smooth. Not sure if it's truly quaffable though.
4.1Holborn Whippet. A nice English IPA, bitter hops, but with more than a hint of fruit lurking in the background. There was a taste of citrus peel coming through that was verging on the marmalade. This was very good.
4.5Cask ale with multiple hops. Served at the right temperature, this really stimulates the taste buds.
3.9Can from Deeside drinks emporium. Pours a light yellow/orange with a very lively head that lasts. Lovely lacing! Aromas of caramel, digestive buiscuits, lemongrass, raw flour. Flavour is grapefruit and lemons with a buiscuit finish. Great beer!
3.7330ml can. Pours clear amber with an off-white head. Fruity, pine/resin aroma. Flavour is malty, caramel, fruity, resin, spicy, finish is dry with good bitterness. Medium body.
3.533cl can. Slightly cloudy orange with small to medium head. Aroma is candy peach, a bit metal, orange, zest. Served super cold. Nothing amazing but well balanced and propper.
3.3Cask @ Kitty’s.
Poured golden color with a thin white head.
Fruity peachy aroma.
Flavor has hops, dark fruits, citrus, pretty good. Tasty.
3.2Cask at the Organ Grinder. Pours golden amber with white lacing. Richly fruity aroma. Taste medium sweet to bitter with sour twiggy finish. Palate is medium bodied, slick feel, average carbonation, long finish. To me, it tastes more like an ESB than an American Pale.
3.7Drinks more like an IPA with solid bitterness and citrus hop flavor. Very nice orange color, clear, with a thick white foam. Nice fruit and dry finish.
3.4Can from ales by mail. Hazy orange color. Medium white head. Body is medium. Carbonation is medium. Aroma is hops, herbs, mango, peach, pine.
3.6330ml can from Beer Ritz. Golden colour, white foam head and aroma of tangerine & floral, fruity hops. Flavour is malty, caramel, toffee, sweetish, honey, floral, with mellow orangey citrus and hoppy tangy bitterness. Medium bodied, soft carbonation, dry bitter finish. Quite drinkable.
3.9Can : juicy aromatic nose . Bright murky orange with a good ass white head . Citrus hops , spice, wood , sweet juicy caramel: like drinking an air freshener.
4.1Overall: Citrus, pine, fruity and dry. Balance.
Note: Cask at Oliver Twist. Reviewed 2016-09-10.
3.1Take Away Craft Beer from White House, Luton, 0,33l Can
Zapach: W aromacie przejrzałe owoce tropikalne: marakuja, mango i soczysty melon. Trochę z tyłu lekka słodowa podbudowa.
Czuć też wyraźnie diacetyl w postaci maślanej, a potem słodko jogurtowej nuty.
Wysokie: Wysokie.
Podsumowanie:
Browar Dark Star z angielskiego Horsham zasłynął z produkcji puszkowych piw craftowych.
Kilku z nich już miałem okazję spróbować. Jedne były lepsze, inne gorsze.
Revelation jest to APA na 4 amerykańskich chmielach. W aromacie posiada zarówno słodowe cechy, jak i chmielowe. Wyraźna maślana nuta zepsuła tutaj profil zapachowy. W smaku sporo karmelu i mocno dojrzałych owoców. Goryczka długa, łodygowy finisz.
Trunek gęsty, pełne ciało, tylko z pijalnością tak sobie.
Edited: Właśnie w tej chwili spojrzałem na datę ważności, która była na spodzie puszki : 10.09.2016.
To wiele wyjaśnia ;)
2.9Light skunky hops. A touch of tropical fruit too. Becomes very bitter in the finish.
3.9Cask at GBBF 2016. Clear golden, white head. Bready malt, citrusy and piney hops. Medium bodied, low to medium carbonation. Semi dry, medium to high bitterness.
2.5Can @ Wetherspoons shared with beerhunter111. Clear orange golden color, average sized off-white head. Aroma is off: malts, slightly infected hops almost, citrus tart, diacetyl. Taste wise it isn’t much better. Disappointing.
