DC Brau The Corruption

DC Brau The Corruption

The Corruption is our take on an India Pale Ale (IPA). We will corrupt your palate with dangerously drinkable malts as well as assertive piney and citrusey hop aromatics, letting some alcohol and sugars sneak through. The crimson copper color coupled with with a nose, filled with plenty of citrus fruits can’t help but bring you down to our level.

This is one shady deal that you won’t be able to pass up!

3.3 12 oz can stamped 6/12/20, poured hazy orange amber with off-white head. Medium bodied. Pine and citrus aroma, resinous bitter taste and finish.
3.3 April 9th, 2016 - DC Brau's cheeky beer names continues with the bitterness of political corruption, and a dark, almost maudlin beer. The smell is steely and metallic, and the flavor pleasantly bitter, with a surprisingly hood balance. Long aftertaste and mildly sweet but without any clear fruity notes.
1.9 With my buddy, this one is way over hopped, cost me five dollars a beer so way over priced, but I’m in to DC so to be expected.
3.6 It pours golden and clear with a full slightly off white head. Head retention is excellent. It has a strong stone fruit and pine aroma. There are some grainy sweet elements from the malt and a bit of bread. It has a grainy sweet and bread malt backbone with stone fruits and pine. There are also very low citrus elements. It has a medium body with slight alcohol warming. Overall, slightly hop forward with a noticeable malt backbone.
1.1 Maybe I got an old can of this but it tasted awful and old. I've drain poured worse beers than this. Smells like rotting apricots and looks like piss from a dehydrated camel. Were it not for the fact I paid $2 for the can at a bottle shop up the street, I would've chucked it on principal.
3.1 April 2019. MGM National Harbour. Draft.
3.7 burnt orange corruption rotting away at the core of DC. The stink. The horror. The idiotic orangutan. The beer is an ok IPA. Tastes like an IPA and smells like an IPA. Too much bitter hop aftertaste for me and not enough malt balance. Not my favorite style but solid I guess if you like that type of thing.
3.8 From the can. Golden color. Nice resinous pine hop aroma and flavor. Moderate to high perceived hop bitterness. Little bit of sweetness hidden in there from the caramel malt. Nice brew.
3.6 Gezapft in einem Retsuarant in DC. Bernstein, klar, kein Schaum. Aroma: Frucht, Zitrone, Melone, Ananas. Geschmack: Sehr bitter. Melone, Zitrus. Etwas Karamell, Rosine
3.7 12oz can thanks to weihenweizen pours out crisp amber topped with a sand head. Nose is dank pine citrus hops some melons and a sweet malt. Taste is more of the nice melons sweetness dank pine hops and some pithy grapefruit bitterness on the end.
3.6 12oz canned 07/2018, merci Pmob. - Dry, herbal-bitter and only halfwet-piney modern IPA that does a sleek, satisfying job of saturating the tastebuds with sweet polished pine, some dried citrus pith and distant pollen. Coalitious.
3.5 Sample at SBWF 2018. Amber with a white head. Aroma and taste of hops, pineapple, some resin and caramel. A bit metallic bitterness. A decent one.
3.4 Pour from a 12oz can. Clear amber brew with off white head. Stoma of moderate resin, earth, a little caramel. Taste is moderate malt up front, resin emerging in the middle, finishes with a little earth. A little old school with solid malt backbone and piney hoppiness.
3.6 Having it on tap at the Sheraton in sliver springs Golden ipa color Crisp taste
3.3 On tap at the Barcelona Wine Bar 14th Street in DC. Clear, deep golden appearance with a lacy white head. Aroma of resinous hops, pine and light citrus zest. Similar flavor, adding moderate hop bitterness and a light grainy sweetness. Medium body with ample carbonation and a slight dry finish. OK.
3.5 A golden ipa with a thin white head. In aroma, sweet fruity biscuit malt with smooth resinous floral hops, light, nice and smooth. In mouth, a nice biscuit malt with resinous floral hops, grapefruit pulp, light mineral notes, very nice and crisp. On tap at Bar Symon, IAD.
3.2 Amber color, mostly clear. Piney and a little earthy. Hoppy, bitter finish is a little off balance.
3.3 Draft brewery 4-28-18 Prev 3.1 draft DC Reynolds 10-21-2014
3.1 Tap at Bar Symon at IAD. Slightly hazy, amber color with white head. Resiny, a little citronella, lemon pithe and light dough aromas. Moderately bitter, resiny taste.
4.2 Can from the Safeway in Sterling, VA Aroma: citrus, pine, caramel Appearance: amber=gold with an off-white head Taste: medium sweetness, medium bitterness, Palate: medium body, creamy, average carbonation, long finish, Tasty
3.5 On tap at The Willard InterContinental, Washington DC on 13-Mar-2018. Clear orange amber colour with a medium sized white head. Aroma of malt, citrus and pine. Medium body and carbonation. Taste of sweet malt, caramel, grapefruit, orange, herbs and floral hops. Medium bitterness with a sweetish finish.
3.1 Can. Pours a coppery amber with a thin head of suds and aromas of silo grain dust and a little floral hops (maybe?). Flavor is malt heavy with a bit of bitterness that seems more amber ale and less IPA, but what do I know? It's a fair enough beer, but the color, aroma and flavor don't work as an IPA unless you are in England.
2.6 Tap at Bar Symon, Dulles Airport, Virginia. Color is clear orange with small white head. Aromas and flavors: Some fruits, pine, some hints of caramel, spices, spruce, some herbal elements, perfume, some hops and malts. Weird herbal IPA.
3.6 Copper. Harsh bitterness with resin and orange. Some sweet caramel malt. Medium bodied. Finish has plenty of lingering bitterness. Decent.
3.2 Sampled on draught at Washington Dulles Airport. Clear amber with a fading white head. Aroma is very muted. Flavour is quite bitter and slightly metallic. Tastes like rye is used in the brew. Powerfully bitter flavours of grapefruit skin and pine resin. Plenty of alcohol but very astringent indeed. I did not find this very pleasant to drink.
3.2 12 oz. can. Canned 2/28/17. Pours a medium, well retained, light ivory head, with moderate lacing, over a hazy amber (SRM 9) body.....nose is fruits with grapefruit, pine, moderate toasted malts, dankness, grass, balance to the hops.....taste is slightly malt sweet to start, becoming dry with bread, cracker tones, dankness, light fruit tones, finishing with lingering mildly harsh bitterness......mouth feel, medium light body, no alcohol, moderate carbonation. Given when this beer was canned, it is a bit too old for the style, having lost some of the subtle and enjoyable hop aromas and flavors. It was a gift from someone who had visited Washington D.C. BJCP 7/2/10/4/5
2.8 Not sure if this can was off, but giving this a rating based on what I sampled. As far as the style goes, this would be towards the lower tier. Leans towards an English IPA, which is my least favorite sub-style...so that may explain it. Seems way to sweet...needs more hops. Think this is one that I will stay away from.
3.5 Canned 10/13/17 at Farmbird, DC. Pours orange golden, deep color. White head. Aroma is lots of astringent orange and grapefruit citrus. Really big malt backbone lends quite a bit of caramel. Very resinous. Very standard. Decent.
3.6 Can. Pours a hazy orange brown with some particles and a white head. Aroma of citrus, caramel malts, light fruits, earthy hops. Flavor of pale malts, earthy hops, mild citrus, light fruits. Malt forward IPA. Not sure if this 6 pack might have been damaged since the beers had lots of particles. I will have to try it again. It's not bad though! 7/4/7/4/14 (3.6/5)
3.4 Draft in Reagan National airport. Mild floral smells. Pours orange brown with a white head that disappears fast. Nice round tastes of hops and malt well balanced. Oily mouthfeel and low carbonation. Very drinkable.
