De Bie Hellekapelle

De Bie Hellekapelle

HELLEKAPELLE from Brouwerij de Bie is an unusual pale ale with a straw color, hoppy aroma, light to medium body and clean malty flavor. It’s bitterness that starts in the middle of the palate and dominates through to the finish comes from Poperinge hops, wonderful thirst quencher.

Geur: moutzoetig, kristalsuiker, gistkarakter. Smaak: wat moutzoetig, wat gistkarakter, eigenlijk redelijk neutraal. Romig mondgevoel. Matige koolzuurprikkel.
3.0 Bottle shared. Very hazy golden orange with a medium white head. Aroma of herbs, yeast, light fruits, spicy notes, gravy and cloves. Flavour is moderate sweet and bitter. Medium bodied with soft carbonation.
3.1 33cl bottle shared with Kermis at the "Disaster, Trump will be president" tasting :-( Thick white head. Very hazy golden pour. refreshing
3.9 Dobry blegijski Ale. Piana wiadomo, gigantyczna i bardzo trwala. Kolor jasny srednio metny. Slodowy smak z lekka nuta goryczki.
CONCLUSION : une sorte d’imperial pils ..
3.3 Really quite misty, okay looks at best. Bready, orange, cereal, flowery, medicinal, golden malts. Active carbonation, mildly bubbly. Taste is not as sweet alcoholic as expected, but still a bit unimaginative. (33cl bottle from ABS Drinks)
Mala.
3.0 Bottle at a bar. Poured a clear yellow to more golden colour with a white head. Nose of fresh citrus, malts, wheat, bitter floral hop, Peach, bit of a watery mouthfeel, yeast, lactose kind of feeling. Refreshing but kind of boring
2.6 Helder geel bier zonder schuim. Goed bier.
3.8 Clear yellow colour, with a small white head and some lace. Funky smell of tropical fruits, spices, maybe clove or pepper, bananas. Medium body, carbonation good enough. Taste is fruity, spicy, some citrus. You think it has more alcohol than it really does. Very good.
3.1 33 cl. bottle @ home, bought @ Hogerdijk, Culemborg Clear dark yellow with a big white head. Fruity spicy aroma with some yeast. Lively carbonation which works well with the pleasant hopbitterness. Unexpected nice beer.
3.2 330ml bottle from Racine, Cassel. Pours slightly hazy gold with white head. Nicer than expected Flanders helles with an underlying yeastiness. Some mild hops. On the whole not bad.
3.7 Bottle 0.33l from De Hopduvel beer shop Ghent Belgium.Pour it yellow colour with small white head.On the nose white wine.Taste and aroma of citrus, bread,Belgian Yeast and touch of Chardonnay flavour.
3.7 Bottle. Pours a Pilsener color, hazy / flaky sediment at the end of the bottle. Aromas are grass, citrus, koriander, cheese. Taste starts sour, coppery. Subsequent sips are pilsener like, but with a subtle bitter undertone. Little watery. I get a taste of sellery, onions. Some cheese in the aftertaste. Good substitute for a pilsener, quite refreshing. Would pair well with a fish meal or salad such as nicoise.
3.1 Blonde session ale since 1994, with snow white, thick head and deep golden blonde colour with orangey hue, hazy. Citrussy and fruity aroma of pale malts, orange peel, apple, pepper, yeast, some solvents too. Malty onset with fresh sourish citrus, finish mildly hoppy. Make sure to get this as fresh as possible: I had a few infected ones too, with mouldy aroma and / or lactic acid in the taste.

3.6 Bottle at cambrinus Pours warm blonde , good white head Bit bitter smell Soft carbo Refreshing , but bitter , bit sweet . Some metallic notes , some grains . Very subtile so perfect for a start of the day
3.1 Poured very light amber with a small white head. Aroma of light hops and grainy malt. Medium body, flavour of zesty citrus and Belgian yeast. Bitter, dry finish.
2.6 Helder goud blond, mooie volle schuimkraag. Neus: lichte toest van gist, licht zurig. Maar vervallen 5/2012. Aftertaste: old bottle effect. have to re-rate this
3.3 Regular Belgian blond beer. Bit more hoppy and bitter than usual perhaps. And the Poperinge hops are always nice.
3.3 Tasted at the Den Dyver restaurant in Bruges. Creamy White full lasting head. Deep Golden colour. Aroma is malty with fruity (apricot, pear, apple) and herbal notes. Flavor is malty too with fruity (citrus, orange peel, apricot) and light spicy tones, ending in a moderately hoppy finish. Light bodied.
2.7 33cl bottle. Appearance: light clouded blonde beer, no head, only a white rim visible. Nose: hops, yeast, watery, light acidity. Taste: pilsener with more hops, rather dry, quite some lemon.
3.0 Blond beer with a large white head. Lively carbonation. Fruity nose. Malty sweet taste. Some oranges and yeast.
3.0 33cl bottle. Light golden with medium white head. Nose : strong citrus zest and pepper, soap and a bit metallic note. Sip . : Low density body reminding a lager with slightly oily texture and quite decent carbonation. Moderately sweet with flavors of bread and some fruity esters. It develops dryness with little sour straw like estery citrus bite. Metallic aftertaste with some bitter hops.
