4.3Pours a clear, golden amber coloration with a small, fizzy head. Smell is dominated by quite musty, earthy, sweaty funk and some fruity esters of green apple and apricot, as well as some wet grass, oak and doughy malt. Taste is an excellent balance of light doughy, sweet'ish malt, some profound musty, sweaty, earthy funk with hints of blue cheese and mushrooms and strong, fruity and slighty spicy yeast esters of green apple, pear, apricot, gooseberry and clove, with the apricot standing out particularly here, as well as some wet grass and a good oak presence. Finishes with a mild tartness and some funk, oak and fruity apricot and goosberry esters lingering in the aftertaste. Smooth mouthfeel with a medium body and carbonation.
This is a world-class Geuze that really impresses with its very strong, complex and nuanced funkiness, as well as some vibrant fruity esters and a good oak presence to round things out, while it may be little less tart and acidic than other examples of the style. One of the funkiest "standard" Geuzes I've had, reminding me a lot of 3F Oude Geuze. While it may be just a touch more sweet than I usually prefer, it turns more dry towards the finish, with a very good light/medium acidity and profound funkiness, making for a fantastic overall balance with a rich complexity.
3.9Bottle

1.6Goudgeel bier met witte dunne schuimkraag. Redelijk zurig en redelijk koolzuurhoudend.
3.9375ml 2018 bottle. Cork flew out as I started to remove the cage. Only a little gushing. Deep gold, slightly hazy with a lasting white head. Aroma of old lemons, oak, the laundry, citrus blossoms. Slippery, fermenting kefir-like texture. Highly carbonated. Funky and dry with oaky and stone fruit flavours yielding to lemony sourness. Very dry at the end. Walks that line where rustic becomes unruly.
4.475cl bottle, can't recall where from. Bierhalle Deconinck I think. Drunk on Christmas Day after a morning MTB ride and 5 mile afternoon walk in the South Shropshire Hills. Misty pale gold appearance, short-lasting white head. Super fresh vibrant fruity funk on the nose. Lively carbonation. Excellent balanced of sour funk and fruity gooseberry, citrus and white grape flavours. Beautifully presented. Great gueuze!
4.1Taster, many thanks to Werckmeister!
Golden-orange, clear body, with a medium, fluffy, yellowish head.
Aroma of cheesy funk, basement, some horse blanket, lemon, apple, wood.
Tastes similar, with some more ripe stone fruits.
Medium, slightly creamy mouthfeel, with a moderate carbonation.
Finishes dry, musty, wooden, moderate citric, with some green apple, some basement.
Really tasty! Not the most complex Geuze I've had, but so balanced, with a great, rustic character. Lovely, diverse funk notes, which are my highlight here, while also interesting fruit notes. Score: 8 / 4 / 8 / 4 / 17

3.9Yellow, muddy beer with good persistent foam. The aroma of fruit, citrus, a little lemon, barnyard. The taste is quite balanced, fruity, small pleasant bitterness in the aftertaste. The body of beer is oily, carbonation is very high.
3.5Refrigerated 75 cL bottle poured into a glass. Clear golden with white head. Aroma is funky, medium body, low carbonation, and little lacing. Taste is funky and dry.
4.1(750ml 2016 bottle from boxbeers, I think) Pours nearly clear pale orange with a big head of fine eggshell foam that piles high and lingers with lace. Aroma is musty and funky but has a bright fruity core, with notes of oranges and pit fruit, citrus peels, ample wood, dried leaves, blue cheese, some barnyard, nice spike of lactic tartness. Flavour is smooth and less tart than the nose implies, notes of mandarin, sweet apple and yellow plum (or some other pit fruit?), soft lemony lactic acidity, minerals, dry grass, just a little wood giving a leathery drydown. Lingering notes of oranges and pit fruit. Medium bodied with rather high effervescent carbonation. A rather soft geuze, especially on the tongue where the funk is less present, but the surprisingly bright fruit character was a treat.
3.90.75 bottle in Craft Room. Lovely tangerine and sourness in aroma, wine barrel, wild yeast, mold. Bit hazy amber color with medium sized white head. Barrel, mold and sourness. Medium body, completely flat. Long sour aftertaste. Nice!

BB 2034. opens with a loud blob, yellow rather hazy color, huge head. smells earthy, grassy, musty, wood, some stone fruits. nice smell. full body, strong carbonation. tastes earthy, grassy, bit cheesy, musty, spices, peppery, light stone fruits. finishes bubbly, lightly dry and lightly sour with notes of stone fruits, earthy and some woody notes. nice one, finishes is almost too light though, taste just trails away, might be also related to the strong carbonation.

4.3Bottle (bottled in January 2009). Sharp penetrating funk on first whiff, sinus-cleaning really, with something like olive oil and unusual herbs. Very bright, clear medium gold. Rich, tart initial flavor, soured-up stone fruit, which sweetens a bit in mid palate, and trails of as fresh as at the beginning, with a touch of mild acidity. Thin body, quite astringent. This has held up very well. Great flavor changes throughout the palate.

Level 6 bottleshare. Thanks to Dan and thanks to Ratebeer for again knocking out the search function on Android and forcing me back to paper and pen! Hazy yellow gold beer, small cream colour head. Light and very dry palate, decent fine carbonation. Thin dry woody sourness. Sharp lemon and wet wood. Trace of orange. Lighy dry finish. A particularly punchy and dry gueuze and hence, not my thing.
