De Dochter van de Korenaar Embrasse

De Dochter van de Korenaar Embrasse

An intense heavy dark beer with 9% vol., Embrasse is a heavy dark beer that is perfectly in between a heavy dark Abbey / Trappist beer and a Stout / Porter. It combines roasted malt and coffee / chocolate aspects with a pleasantly light fruitiness of dried subtropical fruits. Bittersweet flavors go together with a pronounced creamy mouthfeel and make drinking this beer to an exceptional delight for lovers of heavy dark beers.

3.6 From a 33cl bottle. Pours dark brown, with a disappearing beige head. Creamy, balance between sweet & bitter, you could say it’s neither of the two. For the style: indeed between brown ale and trappist and stout. Well made beer!
3.8 Black appearance. Aroma is coffee and roasted. Flavour is roasted, coffee and malt.
4.5 Superb. Starts with peat on the nose. Then becomes whisky followed by oak before beer aromas dark fruitcake. Winner. Bottle after 5 years.
4.1 Bottle from Belgiuminabox. Pours a murky very dark brown almost black colour with a reddish hue & a medium sized creamy beige head. Aromas of chocolate, roasted malts, dry dark fruits, hints of tropical fruits, liquorice, vanilla and spice. Taste is very much the same with more chocolate, dark fruits, roasted coffee, vanilla, liquorice and an added smoky flavour. Low carbonation. Full bodied, slightly oily mouthfeel and a long chocolate, roasted, fruity and slight bitterness on the finish. Fantastic beer.
3.8 Copenhagen 31/1 2020. 66 cl bottle from Ølhandleren in Give (web-shop). Comes in a little red paper bag. Simple white label with name of the brewery and beer, the usual warnings about beer consumption and the enticing tagline “A beer to embrace”. Pours unclear, dark brown with a medium-sized light beige head. Settles as thin patch of foam unable to cover the surface of the beer. No lacing. Aroma is intense, peaty and with coffee bitterness. Lightly smoked malts, tobacco, coffee. Salt water. Lightly metallic. Light carbonation. Medium thick, oily, lightly tingling texture. A little sticky. Flavor is lightly sweet followed by a stronger bitterness. Aftertaste is bitter with a touch of peat. Lingering. Semi-dry finish. Fine heavy hitting, moderately smoky boozer.
3.8 It comes across rather mild for the abv and style. Clean and highly drinkable. Definitely some coffee stout influences on top of a nice belgian. Online Etre bier
4.2 Bottle. Pours a darck chestnut colour with a big but fast fading beige head. A bit of lacing and fairly lively carbonation. Aroma: Caramel, plum dates, bourbon, sweet spices and dark chacolate. Taste is Sweet with mild bitternes. Medium moutfeel. Long aftertaste of dried fruits. Different and nice!
3.3 Bevuta in bottiglia. Ben equilibrata. Forse un po' troppo carbonatazione.
4.4 Fles 33cl thuis. Zacht, koffie, chocolade, donker fruit, lichte zuren, mooie zoeten, roasted malttonen. Goed. (14-12-2019).
3.7 Dark brown pour. Light peated nose. Dark, strong but also very drinkable.
4.1 Keg at BrewDog Soho in 2015. Bear black with a tan head. Aroma of dates, treacle, liquorice and dark malt. Very good body. Some measured sweetness in the flavour, but with burnt sugar, roasted malt and light coffee to balance.
4.0 330ml bottle from belgiuminabox.com. Pours black with a big beige head. Very nice aromas of vanilla, caramel, chocolate, alcohol. Taste is a bit lower than aroma but still great. Bittersweet, coffee, chocolate, balances well between an imperial stout and a strong Belgian ale. Very impressive...
3.9 Almost black color with tanned head. Aroma has chocolate, caramel, dark malt, dark fruits. Taste is malty sweet with long quite sweet aftertaste. Flavors of caramel, dark malt, ripe fruits, chocolate and coffee.
3.9 Bottle of 33cl, in a Tumbler glass; from the fridge. A very solid stout. The beer has a strong dark colour with a crème-white head. The taste got aspects of chocolate and coffee beans, with a small, just enough sweet aftertaste. A good find.
3.7 12 ounce bottle in Brussels. A brownish red like color with dried fruit and raisins.
4.4 Oh my this is good. Dark creamy cracking mouthfeel. Alcohol hit is spot on. This may trump to become my favourite quad dark it's that good. Further bottles lean it further into stout territory not a bad thing just less towards the quad spectrum.
3.5 Bottle from Bierwinkel. Dark brown with latte head. Blood metal aroma with hopping. Somewhat sweet and malty with a rich cigarette finish. Solid
3.9 Bottles over the years, Pat and I used to dig this one. Pours an amber brown with a medium head. Notes are Belgian yeast, dark fruit, roasted malt, toffee, grapes, and tobacco. Medium to fuller bodied with warming finish.
4.3 0.33l bottle. Very dark brown body with an ever lasting creamy brown head and some sediment at the bottom of the glass. The aroma is very intense and sweet. It has notes of coffee with cream, caramel, chocolate and raisins. Taste of dark sugar, chocolate, coffee and plums with a nice herbal hop bitterness in the finish. Great beer.

3.8 En caliz La Trappe. Viendo Black Summer 1x01-02. 16 meses pasada.
