Bouteille 33 cl achetée au Drink de Chênée. Aspect : noire à reflets rouges, petite mousse beige qui persiste néanmoins à 1 mm. Nez un peu fumé/tourbé au départ puis bois, whisky -c'est certain- malts rôtis, fruits noirs, chocolat. Bière plutôt vive, moyennement ronde aux goûts de malts aromatisés au whisky, café, chocolat au lait, un peu de candi, finale sèche avec moyenne amertume.Facile à boire malgré l'alcool et le côté fumé un rien persistant.
Mahagóni reflexeket megcsillantó, mélybarna színű ital egy krémes, bézs csipkehabbal a tetején, mely alól a maláta minden árnyalata felfejlődik, pirított, karamellás, alkoholban ázó kenyérhéjas aromák lengedeznek igen intenzíven, sziruposan, némi fás karakterrel megspékelve. Ízre nagyjából ugyanez, valódi malátalé aszalt szilvás, medvecukros, gyógynövényes jelleggel, egy fanyar, határozottan belga mondanivalójú élesztős lepellel, s markáns, aromás komló zárásával. Kiugró elemektől mentes, rendkívül sima és egységet árasztó alkotás. Remek belgian strong ale, bár az érlelés vonásait az én kőkemény imperial stoutokhoz szokott ízlelőbimbóimnak csak elvétve sikerült beazonosítaniuk, mondhatjuk tehát, hogy a hordóérlelés hatása igen finoman, elegánsan van jelen a sörben.
Colore marron scuro con riflessi rossi, schiuma media poco persistente. Al naso sentori frutta secca, cioccolato, lievito mediati da note legnose evidenti. Al palato note di vaniglia, frutta secca, legno, passito, botte, finale secco. Una birra con un corpo pieno, le parti fruttate vengono mediate dalla parte legnosa, i malti tostati sono nascosti, l'alcol c'è e si sente.
Bottled from Drinks&Gifts. Very dark brown colored, thick and lasting beige head. Lots of roasted malts in aroma, vanilla, caramel, wood, very nice. Very interesting flavor, roasted malts, initially quite some sugary sweetness, but more dry and bitter later on, licorice, just enough carbonation to balance mouthfeel and smoothness. Dangerously drinkable. These guys know what they are doing, really, really good.

Robe brune, dense, fine mousse crémeuse. Nez sur le chocolat au lait, les noisettes, une touche lactée, un boisé tourbé, une touche iodée, et maltée, une grande complexité. Bouche à l'attaque ample et crémeuse, rétro maltée et tourbée, bulle crémeuse et onctueuse, longueur kilométrique, d'un équilibre parfait. Une grand bière d'une impressionnante complexité. Bière de méditation.
The beer has got a deep dark brown ruby colour with a steady head and smooth body. Aroma of oak, barley and warm bread. Taste of barley, whiskey, oak, woods, vanilla and yeast. Smooth finish.
Bottle 66cl, a dark beer with medium copper head. Nose is on on toasted malt, toasted caramel, biscuit, toasted nuts, blond caramel, oak. Aroma on the same, some pecan nut touch, marzipan, touch of oak, quite clean, not too sweet, finish is a bit vinous, light red fruits.
Aus der Flasche 2015-10 getrunken. Ein schönes Dubbel! Tolle Nase, am Gaumen schön, doch dann am Abgang ist es ganz schnell weg.

Aroma is malt, dried fruits, whisky.
Taste is malt, sweet, raisins, prunes, whisky.
Medium body, average carbonation.
Très belle réalisation de DDVK avec cette embrasse qui allie à la fois puissance, élégance, équilibre et complexité arômatique. En la dégustant, je n'ai pu m'empêcher de la comparer à la Carolus Cuvée Van de Kaise Wisky Infused. Je mets cette dernière légèrement au dessus, mais à ce niveau là, cela en devient presque indécent. Elle est toutefois légèrement moins sucrée et un peu plus fine. En verre, rien d'extraordianire, robe noire (EBC de 95) quasiment sans moussse (effervescence peu marquée). Le nez bien qu'appréciable est peu puissant. Il laisse toutefois percevoir de beaux aromes de café, chocoalt, de whisky, d'alcool et de fruits. Ce côté fruité (frutis exotiques, agrumes), provenant de l'utilisation de Magnum et d'Auora e complément du Saaz est très bien intégré et confère de la fraîcheur en complément de l'amertume, bien dosée à 46 d'IBU. es arômes de fruits sont en effet, en retrait par rapport à ceux de café, chocolat et de whisky, et les mettent même très bien en valeur. CL'alcool, à 9 % Abv, tien très bien l'ensemble, en donnant cettte touche de puissance nécessaire. C'est donc à la dégustation que se révèle compléètement cette Embrasse. L'attaque, d'un remarquable équilibre est sur le café, le choclat, les épices, le whisky avec cette touche fruité. A la deuxième bouche, l'alcool se renforce avec un résineux qui se fait ressentir. La présence en bouche est bonne et la longueur excellente avec un final sur la café, le whisky et la mélasse splendide. A savourer.Moi, j'en redemande!

dark brown colour with mahogany-ruby notes, huge, creamy and quite stable beige head; aroma of burnt plum jam, dried black sour cherry, dark chocolate, some cappucino, cocoa notes and slight smoke; taste has the same notes with syrupy-caramel notes, some soy sauce, hints of walnut liqueur and spicy-acoholic aftertaste; amazing beer!
Dark brown body, offwhite head. Aroma has sweet malt, dark bread, fruit, smoke. Flavour is bit tarish. Really nice subtle tones.
Bottle from De Hopduvel shared with Goedele. Regular, moussy, yellowish beige, lightly lacing head, dissolving in the middle; misty brownish bronze robe with burgundy hue. Aroma of stewed pear, plum, candied cherries, butterscotch, whisky (indeed non-peated), gingerbread, wet straw, red apple peel, vanilla, old wood, nutmeg, brown bread, banana, candi sugar, vanilla-ish oak. Sweet onset, residual brown sugariness over impressions of banana, apple and peach, sourish blackberry-like note, noble and non-sticky sweetness remaining over a medium carbonated, supple and rounded caramelly malt sweet middle, softening bready edges, some spicy phenols in the end mixing well with the whisky impression, adding a gingerbread-like note, mild toasty bitterish accent, dryish tannic oakiness, warming alcoholic but not overly boozy finish. Very noble, elegant and technically perfectly executed update of a classically conceived Belgian quad.
Bruin, veel gist, troebel, beige schuimkraag, weinig koolzuur.
Aroma: Fruitig, donker fruit, rozijn, licht chocolade, oak , whisky, vanille.
Smaak: Veel chocolade en koffie... mooi wat geroosterde mout, vol moutig, donker fruit en iets zoet. De vat rijping is subtiel.... duidelijk droog hout/oak, iets whisky en wat vanille. Deze houd het midden tussen stout en barley wine. Mooi zacht biet zeer subtiel. Alcohol merk je bijna niet.
Redelijk volle body, dik en romig genoeg... niet helemaal stroop achtig. Afdronk is roasty, warm, bitterzoet en iets droog. Zeer Goed!
Sampled at surly Darkness Day. Nice barrel aromas. Big dried fruit and bread dough aromas and flavours. Really smooth. Abv is undetectable. Awesome.
Piana dość obfita i trwała. Barwa rubinowo miedziana, klarowna. W aromacie nuty quadruplowe - rodzynki, daktyle, melasa, kandyzowany cukier, do tego trochę wanilii, czekolady, parkietu i wosku pszczelego... W smaku sporo słodyczy, poza ww pojawia się paloność, lekka dymność, kakao, karmel, toffi, na finiszu rozgrzewające whisky, odrobina ziół, nieduża, pikantna goryczka. Średnie wysycenie, dość pełne (zwłaszcza jak na BA), treściwe, gładkie w odbiorze.
Piwo równie dobre, co wersja podstawowa. Wydaje się, że trochę mało w aromacie wniosła tu beczka - wanilia i dębina na poziomie leżakowania z płatkami (czy kostką) dębowymi. W ustach pojawiła się za to bardziej mięsista, oleista faktura oraz motyw whisky i motyw dymu ogniskowego, których nie było w podstawie...

Pretty much black. 1 finger express Crema. Smells like a fund aged barleywine with whiskey and vanilla. Tastes similar to HOTD adam with a bit more barrel. Same smoke content. Marshmallow, cream, Peat, smoke and vanilla. Smokey finish
Brown with a medium head. Aroma: Caramel, roasted malt, raisins. Taste is sweet with just a touch of smokyness. Nice
Dark brown colour with thin head. Aroma and flavour have plenty of chocolatey malts. Light sweet whiskey and a slight but pleasant warmth of alcohol. Smooth and rich.

Shared with wim and bart at wim’s place. Brown colored beer with small off-white head and floks of yeast. Malty roasted aroma. Full sparkling palate. Finish is malty roasted.
Mooi donker bier met crèmekleurige schuimkraag die langzaamaan wegebt tot fijn laagje. Mooi aroma van rook, mout, licht vineus. Mooie volle ronde smaak. Licht peated maar zeker niet té veel. Mooi in balans. Heerlijk genietersbier.
Zwarte wikkel & witte sticker "Blended oak aged version" botteld 2014. Kastanjebruin bier met weinig schuim. Geur: grill chips, kruiden, gerookte droge hesp. Smaak: zoet, droog, gerookt, kalisse, koffietoets en wat rood fruit. Redelijk volmondig. Matige koolzuurprikkel. Afdronk: zoetig, droog en hout.
660 ml bottle (I think) at Délices & Caprices in Brussels.Quite clear, dark brown to amber body with a moderate sized beige head. Strong aroma of malt, dry fruit, mild wood and whisky. Flavor is sweet, heavy malt, dry fruit, whisky barrel, caramel and pleasant bitterness with some warming alcohol. Fine balanced body with a nice and long lasting aftertaste. A solid and well balanced one. A really nice sipper.
Sampled from bottle at Kingsnight Avoidance Tasting. Clear dark brown. Sweet caramel malts, dades, figgs, wood, moldiness, some cardboard. Medium sweet, light bitter. Medium body and average carbonation.
Bottle at Kingsnight tasting. Bit of a gusher. Dark reddish brown with small off white head. Lots of caramel, figs, herbs, vanilla, dust, nice oaky notes, some scotch grain whisky, light smoked meats. Medium bodied with some roasted bitterness and booze. Over medium bodied with a bit slick feel.
Bottle shared at Kings night avoidance tasting. Very hazy reddish brown with a small tan head. Aroma of caramel, rich malt, toffee and wood. Flavour is moderate to heavy sweet and moderate bitter. Above medium bodied with soft carbonation.
