De Dolle Arabier

De Dolle Arabier

Arabier is a pure malt beer brewed with flower Nugget-hops from Poperinge. It has the special dry-hopping taste and aroma, so appreciated by beer lovers all over the world. It is one of the two main beers from De Dolle Brouwers available throughout the year. Aging time is limited due to the fact that hop bitterness declines with age. Store arabier cool and dark and serve cool at 10°C.

3.7 Bottle from notes (and I'm sure I had this on draft locally as well). Pours a hazy orange golden color with a medium sized white head. The aroma and flavor have sweet malts, fruity, yeast, spicy, moderate bitterness to the finish, interesting beer.
3.9 Bottle at home in Hackney - can’t recall where I got it. Bottled December 2010. Pours clear gold with a frothy, mostly white head. Nice yeast expression, bready malts, biscuits, meringue, citrus, candi sugar, white bread crust. Moderately sweet, hints of husky bitterness. Medium bodied with fine carbonation. Very little warmth in the finish, nice bready sweetness. Drinks exceptionally well overall, nice layers, complexity. Has aged gracefully.
3.8 Old rating from 2017 - 330ml bottle from the brewery, pours dark amber with a white foamy head. Aromas & tastes of marmalade, candy sugar, vanilla, earth, herbs & hops. Medium body. Crisp & warm finish
3.7 Pours a little hazy orange/blonde with (again) a too huge foamy white head. Hoppy, sweet, yeasty nose. Medium body, a tiny little bitter on hops, creamy, white fruit. Again a complex beer by these brewers.
3.8 Bottle - pours golden, big foamy white head - nose/taste of spicy rye, bitter hops, lemon pith, bready malt - med body
4.5 Excellent beer. Huge foam head. Well hopped & well bitter. Very much in ipa dipa territory. Hop head fans will enjoy. This is a quality re buy beer.
4.0 Lightly hazy golden orange pour with a mile high everlasting white soapy head. Definite Belgian yeast aroma up front. Mildly malty, banana candy, soft hoppy notes along with spices like cloves. Just over medium bitter sweet with a bit of alcoholic warmth. Almost full body with a huge amount of carbonation. Yes, this is great. World class!!
3.4 15/20 bloody tasty light belgium beer. loads of flavour, bit like a leffe blonde
3.9 Copenhagen 5/4 2020. 33 cl bottle from Voldby Købmandsgaard web-shop. Happy Ara parrot drinking Arabier on the label. Pours unclear, golden yellow with a humongous, white head. Settles as a 4 cm thick, lumpy crown of foam covering the surface of the beer. Massive lacing. Aroma is bit dampened by the massive amount of foam. Medium intense. Sweet, and yeasty. Banana and oranges. Caramel and sugar. Humid basement. Light carbonation. Slightly thick, smooth, lightly tingling texture. Flavor is intense with a medium strong sweetness and a surprisingly strong, slightly aggressive bitterness. Aftertaste is bitter with a light sweet undercurrent. Lingers for a while. Dry finish. Smells like a classic Belgian beer but somewhat more bitter than I would expect. I can understand the smile on the Ara parts lips (or beak).
Corpo medio basso e vivace carbonazione. Bevibilità altissima, elevganza e semplicità.
4.0 Rounded a little sweet. Nice bitterness, a little acidity and a flowery haylike aroma
5.0 Prachtig
3.5 330ml bottle from Beers of Europe and drunk on 27/11/2006. Solid blonde with nice yeasty aroma. That bit drier and granier than the average.
3.7 Bottle from Belgiuminabox. Pours a cloudy amber colour with a massive thick pure white head with lots of lacing. Beautiful looking beer. Aroma is very yeasty and hoppy with stone fruits, exotic fruits, apples, pears, coriander, floral notes, pine notes, candy, bubblegum. Taste is very bitter, hoppy, peppery, spicy with orange and lemon peel, grapefruit, apples, pears, coriander and bubblegum. Lively carbonation is prickly on the palate. Dry grassy very bitter finish. Very unique and fresh beer with a big bitterness on the finish. it’s a nice one.
3.5 Pale golden body with a big foamy and persistent white head. Aroma is a bit dusty, then come the spices (cloves and black pepper), Belgian yeast and fruity notes. Very bitter taste, lots of herbal notes and endive. Long bitter finish. Medium body soft carbonation oily texture
Beer-Shoop.it 02.11.19
4.2 Bottle. Golden hazy color, with a huuuge thick white head, lacing. Aroma is hoppy, some honey. Taste is hops, fruity, spicy, mineral. Full body, soft carbonation. Bitter, definitely. Great beer.
3.5 From the 33 cl. bottle with no immediately noticeable bottling date. A ridiculously foamy amber brown with modest clarity. It took about 10 minutes to pour it into the glass without the fluffy foam rolling over. So, lower appearance rating. The aromas are nice with a grainy malt note, some clove, coriander, pepper, and maybe a little pear and apple. Boozy too. The body is medium to full. Sweet, yet boozy flavor with a dry finish. Cleansing and warming. Except for the way it looked, it was a decent Belgian Strong Ale.
3.7 Lekker blond wel bittere afdronk.
3.0 Poors opaque dark yellow, lacing white foam head. Aroma is barley, some hop. Taste quite nice, drinks easy. (Maastricht 201906)
2.6 Bitter with aroma, strange combination.. pour orange. Nose very yeasty, taste yeast, grapefruit peel, caramel with very bitter finish. Aggressively bitter, and aroma not very complex. The bar i was in sucked, so it makes ft have influenced the rating...
Piana to ogromna czapa białego puchu, która trwa i trwa. Spora ilość zdobień, jednak bez konkretnego krążkowania. Aromat to typowa "belgia", nuty drożdżowe, przyprawowe, lekko ziemiste i owocowe. Są winogrona, brzoskwinia, pomarańcza. Smak wytrawny, goryczka od razu pokazuje swój charakter. Jest nieco ostra, zestowa. Dalej podobnie jak w aromacie akcenty drożdżowe, nuty przyprawowe, ziemiste i owocowość. Alkohol dobrze ukryty. Wysycenie wysokie, bardzo szybko zasyca. Faktura płynu jest lekko szorstka, pełnia średnia.
3.7 Extremely difficult to pour as the beer foams heavily. this is a beer you have to grow into. Like Hommelbier, this beer is much older than the actual IPA revival so you could call it IPA avant-la-lettre but in this beer the hop is differently used as in modern IPA. not citrussy and juicy but dry and bitter.
3.5 I've had a few of their beers, and loved them all. This was one that I had wanted to try, so got to try a small sample on tap in a flight. More of a golden and lighter-bodied ale. Flavors of a farmhouse saison...grassy, wheaty, etc. This isn't really one of my preferred styles for a Belgian, but worth the try.
