De Dolle Boskeun

De Dolle Boskeun

Boskeun is the nickname of Jo, one of the two brothers who preferred to brew blond beer at home. It is a special Easter beer, one of the first real Belgian Easter beers. (Slaghmuylder's paasbier being first). It has been brewed with pale malt, Golding hops, cane sugar and refermented with native honey. As it is a seasonal beer we suggest not to keep it eternally. The name Boskeun means rabbit of the wood (virgin wood, maybe?) and the label shows it, sampling the last brew.

3.8 Bottle from Big C Liquors in Winter Park, FL. Aroma is honey, apple, bread, fruity eaters. Taste is honey, malt, apple pastries, spiced bread. Very smooth, a bit sweet but overall a pretty good Belgian.
4.3 33cl bottle from beer shop, drinking it on 02/06/2021 BB 03/2023 according to cap, second De Dolle i try after the Stille Nacht which was astounding . Pours hazy dark golden with huge, long lasting white head and some floating sediment. Aroma of belgian yeast, really fruity and sweetish/sugary, with notes of orange, cloves and spices, floral. Taste is very sweet with intense fruit and sugary notes, some notes of yeast, apple orange, baked apple, candi sugar, apricot and slightly spicy and sour but mostly sweet. Smooth and easy drinking, a bit boozy and strong 9% abv but really well hidden. Medium body and a bit oily mouthfeel. Spritzy, lovely carbonation and taste. This one tastes so great and can make you quite happy easily with its strength.. delicious.
3.6 10 ounce pour into stem glass. Draft. At The Winking Lizard in Copley, Ohio. Smell the sweet candy sugar. Golden in color with white head. Taste the candy sugar. Light and smooth. Alcohol is well hidden at 9 percent. Sweet aftertaste and taste strong. Very nice beer. Cheers!
3.8 Pours light hazy blonde with a white head. Yeasty aroma on apple and honey. Palate is fruity, oranges, spices and malt sweetness. Don’t drink too cold.
3.7 Pours a slightly cloudy yellow, with a nice white bubbly head. Aroma of hay, honey and candy. Taste has candy sugar and chewing gum sweetness, with a nice chewy mouthfeel. Enjoyable.
3.8 Almost clear yellow/orange pour with a nice fluffy white pillowed top. Grassy, straw, very herbal, urinal.....yuck, mud, barn, wet dog aroma. Mm, interesting. Over medium bitter and sweet with a dryish finish. Quite full and thick body with halfway medium carbonation. Extremely tasty beer this one, don't let the aroma fool you. Full bodied saison I'd say. Complex, different and above all, great 👍
4.0 From the 33 cl. Bottle with no immediately noticeable date. The pour is a heady bronze-amber color. The aroma has a wooden, fruity, grain sensation. No booze. Medium to bold body. Sweet, caramel malt and ash taste. A touch more booze here. Finished fairly clean. Yeah, I'd have it again.
4.1 Bottle from Belgiuminabox, Antwerp. Hazy orange pour with a white head. Marmalade, candi sugars, banana toffee, dessert pear aromas. Taste is banofee pie, apricot crumble, dessert pear, fruit salad sweets. Soothing alcohol warmth. Boozy sweet finish. Glorious.

4.1 A massive super easy pure billowing white frothy head is how it starts revealing a crystal clear golden colour and waves of heady dry tangerine and bitter citrus peel on the nose and palate. Nice acidic crunch on the end too. Dee-lish.
3.5 Bottle from Premiere Gourmet in Buffalo. Pours a muddy, dirty blonde, with presistant lees-flecked head. Mildly hay malt with surprisingly syrupy sweetness. Some yeasty, notes, a little booze. Pretty straight forward, love this brewer, but this one is just ok.
3.6 Bottle from Utobeer. Golden pour with good head, quite sweet, yeasty, some forest fruits, nice beer.
3.0 Hazy ochre liquid, large head. Aroma of yeast. Light body, average carbonation. Taste is bitter.
4.0 I have this 33 cl bottle of Boskeum that came from my favorite Belgian seller. Chilled and being poured into a snifter, it shows up a hazy, light yellow in color with a stupendous, pure white head. Nice nose, I determine nectarine and green hay. And the taste? Nice again, there is ripe yellow fruit, spices, white bread and an appropriate sweetness. De Dolle does a lot of things right.
4.0 Bottle at ‘t Brugs Beertje. Dark hazy brown amber. Super frothy whitish head with lots of foamy lacing. Warming and figgy. A little sweet. Caramel. Smooth.
3.8 Bottle from Belgiuminabox shared. Pours golden color. Aroma of malts, citrus, yeast, spices, coriander, wheat. Above medium body, spicy and intense taste. Really nice, strong taste tripel.

3.9 Very high carbonation. Lots of orange, yeasty fruits, caramel, spices. Bit noticable alcohol
2.9 Bottle. Murky golden, smooth white head. Aroma Belgian yeast, citrus. Sweet taste, adds some nuts to the initial aroma.
3.7 Birra dal colore giallo carico lievemente torbido. Schiuma fine e persistente.
3.7 In tap at Red Rose Cafe, Brugge, Belgium. It pours clear amber, with a big, white head. Aroma is wheat, pear, flowers. Taste is medium bitter. Body is full, carbonation is fine.
3.7 Zeer zachte donkerblonde biertje met een redelijke zoete afdronk. Heeft wat weg van de Betonchamps Tripel
3.9 Cloudy amber with thick rocky foamy lacy white head Aroma is fruity citrusy hints of wood Flava is malty moderately tart Feels light with lively fizzy foaminess that lingers Finishes moderately tart
3.9 Schiuma abbondante di color bianco e di media grana. Birra colore giallo carico, velata, tanto lievito in bottiglia. Ottima bevuta.
3.4 Bevuta in bottiglia. Ottima bionda belgian ale. Forte gradazione. Molto corposa e gustosa.
