De Dolle Dulle Teve 10º (Mad Bitch)

De Dolle Dulle Teve 10º (Mad Bitch)

De Dulle Teve is brewed in the tradition of a Belgian Triple. Its high density stems from large amounts of pale malt increased with pale candi sugar in the brew kettle. Unfiltered, unpasteurized, bottle-conditioned.

De Dulle Teve keeps two to three years without major changes in taste. Further maturing, up to 10 years, will cause it to darken a little and lose some of its bitterness. The bittering of about 30 IBU is due to Goldings hops in the brew kettle.

3.7 A solid clean beer. With a phenolic tatse. not sweet or kind in any way. Fellenkelder ghent
2.9 Clear golden. Aroma is pale malt with traces of hop and a few sour fruit. Taste is very sweet malty cereal base with a few fresh and crisp acidic notes hovering above. Oily texture. Caramel finish. Not very complex. Ok drinkability for the high abv. Somehow I still think this is a pale lager gone slightly sour.
3.4 330ml bottle. Hazy orange color. Sweet, caramel, Belgian yeast, herbal, hops, oranges, alcohol in aroma/taste.
2.8 12 oz. can. Cloudy and chunky orange. Smells of citrus, light acidity, a little cardboard. Tastes of citrus and orange sourness, fruity yeast, and a little yeasty bitterness. Medium heavy. I don't remember this being sour. Maybe I'll revisit this review with another can from my 4 pack if this is an isolated incident.
4.2 Aroma; floral yeast, meadow, big bouquet of spices, caramels. Look; off white dense head, pillowy lacing, veiled amberish golden body. Looks good. Taste; floral yeast, fermented fruit cocktail, big bouquet of spices, jam n caramels, fudgy malts, mild hops, and a lingering good finish. Feel; good soft body and fine co². Overall; very good slow sipper. [bottle 33cl, T@home, PivotekaH7] .
3.9 On tap at the Grand Delancey. Pours gold. Honey, pear, apple, biscuit, golden syrup, sticky toffee pudding. Oily body. Good.
Schade!
4.0 Authentic depiction of a whirlwind of a brew which flew off the shelves in North America only to never be seen again.
4.1 33cl bottle from beer shop, drinking it on 20/06/2021 bottled Dec 2020 according to cap. Pours hazy dark golden with most of the glass being long lasting, frothy white head. Strong aroma of malt, vanilla, belgian yeast, caramel somehow sugary. Taste is mostly sweet with malt, caramel, belgian yeast, honey, spices, candi sugar, fruited but warm and quite strong at 10% abv. Pretty sweet but balanced perfectly and i simply love how it warms you. Very slightly sour. Pleasant finish and well hidden abv. Medium body and smooth, soft carbonation and again very warm.. one of the best tripels i tried, wonderful.
3.7 Old rating from 2017 - 330ml bottle, brought from the brewery. Pours amber with a white foamy head. Aromas & tastes of candy sugar, funk, earth, cherry, apple, pear, bread & malt. Medium to full body. Long sweet finish. Alcohol well hidden
3.9 Can at home. Nice given the abv that it comes in 12oz can. Dirty gold and fine head. Nose is yeast, vanilla, brandy. Tastes of pear, vanilla, Sauvignon blanc, hops, candy. Smooth palate. Hides abv well.
4.2 Bottle from BIAB. Light golden, super high carb, first careful pour was almost all foam. Waiting... Waiting... Mad streams of bubbles from the bottom of the glass... Now. Nice complex nose, acidic sharp with caramel and malt notes. The flavor is remarkably not too sweet given 10% alc. Great mouthfeel, rounded caramel biscuit notes with lemon, faint molasses aftertaste, wow what a combination. I ❤️ this beer.
3.8 Pours hazy orange/blonde with a lasting thin white head.Aroma of banana, yeast and spices. Medium creamy body with a little sweet/bitter balancing out perfectly. Again a good one by these brewers
4.0 Fles 33cl thuis. Krachtig, redelijk koolzuur, rood fruit, Belgisch gist, maltig, zoet, klein zuurtje, bittertonen, sinaasappelschil, fruitig, licht kruidnagel, redelijk boozy. Redelijk complex. (29-11-2020).
4.0 Bottiglia.
4.2 This is a meal of a beer: full-bodied, ten percent and not shy, malty, bitter, and sour. Worth allowing to warm a bit from the fridge to get the most out of it. This is a bit of a triumph but not one for regular consumption. My two penneth.

3.8 Not quite clear yellow golden pour withsoft white blanket on top. Belgian yeast, banana, clove, coffee creamer, candied sugar, some marzipan, bread. Perfectly balanced bitter sweet. Full body, right carbonation. Yeah, this is awesomeness.
4.4 May 2019 bottle, enjoyed August 2020. This one is a gusher, stirred up a bunch of sediment, oh well. Smells like prunes, sweet bready malts, and fragrant yeast. A bit of alcohol on the nose, dunno how to describe the smell, lihgtly perfumey? Holy Jesus this is a good one! Quite sweet, the high carbonation gives it an interesting texture. Full bodied and malt forward, The finish has some well definied grassy hop bitterness that balances the sweetness. Malts are caramel, bread crust and candied fruits. Just bursting with malty flavour and a bit of alcohol heat. Wow! Reminds me why I love tripel, just as good as the Trappists!
W aromacie owoce, brzoskwinia, cytrusy, belgijskie fenole. W smaku owoce w stylu brzoskwinii, cukrowość, belgijska przyprawowość. Ciało średnie, gładka faktura, alko czuć delikatnie. Bardzo przyjemny belg.
3.8 330ml bottle at t'Poatersgat, Bruges on 30/07/2010. Smashing tripel, with loads of big fruity esters on the nose. Very fine carbonation. Smooth and really deceptive on strength.
3.0 Hazy orange colour, mine was very lively with profuse wispy foam on top. Aroma is quite citrusy, tangerines and ginger, giving way to the spicy phenols we know and love in this style. Tastes somewhat fruity too, pineapple, it’s actually rather sweet. Feels quite thick in the mouth which almost makes the beer quite cloying. Overall, it looks and smells pretty good, but is a little too sweet for my old-fashioned tastes.
2.9 Hazy, peachy yellow color. Small head. A bit sharp, thin smell. Full body, creamy and warming mouthfeel. The taste is alcoholic, subtle flavours of oranges - apricots maybe - spices and a hint of meat. Slightly hoppy. Not much depth and an unbalanced complexity though. Not very sophisticated but rather incoherent and messy. Definitely not one of my favourites. Heavily overrated imho.
4.2 From a 330 ml bottle. Bronze amber pour with good carbonation leading up to a silky off-white head. Big sweet aromas of caramel, Belgian candied sugar, brown sugar, and dark fruit like fig or plum. Smooth medium or better mouthfeel. Very sweet and malty in the taste with a dark fruit element playing up just a well as the aroma. The bitterness is warming at the end. Thought I like my Tripel's to be a little lighter and crispier, this is a bold example of the style.
2.6 10/20 this is belgium beer to the max - bit too extreme for me, mega boozy, huge taste, quite tart to finish, but bit harsh for me.
3.7 Yeasty, malty, alcoholic triple, lots of complexity and the yeast is substantial. A big tasting triple though not as wild I remember it being.
