De Halve Maan Brugse Zot Dubbel

De Halve Maan Brugse Zot Dubbel

Bottle and keg: Unfiltered.

Brugse Zot Dubbel is a dark brown beer, inclining towards ruby red. It is brewed with six special varieties of malt, which give the beer a rich and distinctive aroma. One can discover the scent of honey, almonds, chocolate and brown sugar. By using the Czech Saaz hop from Zatec, the beer has a complex palate of roasted malts and a distinctive flavour. Brugse Zot Dubbel is known to leave a warm glow in the mouth with a bitter and hoppy finish, leaning towards liquorice and coffee roast.

Ingredients: water, barley malt, sugar, Saaz hops, yeast.

Textura acuosa, cuerpo medio y carbonatación medio-alta.
3.6 Bottle from Kumiyama AEON Mall liquor shop. Nose of Belgian yeast, dark fruit, and a bit of vinegar (lightly balsamic). Dark reddish brown color, with two thick fingers of tan foam, and some sticky lacing. Flavor pretty much follow along with the aroma, very fruity, a hint of spice and a little bit astringency. Medium body. Seems to be a baby Flanders Red.
3.2 Large foamy light brown head stayed on a slowly carbonating brown body. Liquorice, malt & raisin aroma. Medium to thin bodied, well carbonated & clean & dry on the back. Raisin, malt, spices & fruity berry tastes. Standard
3.9 330ml bottle brewed in Belgium at 7.5%. Clearish ruby with an excessively large head despite extra careful pouring. Slight dark nutty aroma with a hint of clove and kirsch on top of a faint scone malt. Moderate carbonation, robust mouthfeel. Some chocolate and raisin with a toasted teacake malt. Light clove and herb dryness to finish. Simple Dubbel but nice enough with it. Pour all the sediment in to give the beer maximum cloud and maximum oomph. If you want beers for drinking more than impressing, this brewery delivers for sure.
Aromat ziemisty, piwniczny, jest odrobina nut słodowych, słodkich i chlebowych. Smak delikatnie wytrawny, tutaj pojawiają się nuty lekko palone, karmelowe i słodowe. Jest minimalna kwaśność owocowa. Wysycenie wysokie. Tekstura gładka, miękka. Ciało średnie do wysokiego. Posmak średnio długi, kwaskowy i słodowy.
3.4 Deep caramel aroma. Taste is caramel, slightly burnt; bread; and yeast. Sweetish aftertaste, with burnt bitterness.
3.3 Bottle from Systembolaget. Thick malt aroma. Nice lasting foam. Easy going taste. Cling. A very inoffensive double.
3.6 Flaska från mixpack från Systembolaget. Mörkt rödbrun med beige skum. Söt och karamellig i doft och smak.
2.9 Toch niet zo super
3.5 Old rating from 05-06-16 - 330ml bottle brought home from Belgium. Pours a reddish-brown colour with a beige foamy head. Aromas of sweet dark malt, caramel & honey. Tastes of caramel, honey, banana, vanilla, nuts, brown sugar, grassy hops & sweet dark malt. Aftertaste is smooth with a mild bitter hoppy sweet malt finish.
1.9 Sweet aroma of dried fruit, caramel and yeast. Bitter taste of maltiness, burnt malt, spicy and yeast. Very bitter aftertaste that fills the upper part of the mouth for a long time. No good beer. Follow me @ Kung av öl @ Facebook for more pictures and ratings.
3.7 Röd, nästan svart. Fruktig doft. Smak av svart vinbär o plommon. Relativt torr. Diskret beska avslutar.
3.5 @ Gammelgårdsvägen 17/1-21. Bottle from Systembolaget. Malty and caramely with dried fruits and spices. Body is medium, the finish is caramely and dried fruity.
3.6 @ Havregatan 20201226. Bottle (330 ml) from Systembolaget. Malty, caramely and light spicy with dark fruits and roasted notes, medium body with an oily texture. The finish is dry and bitter.
3.3 Brown colour, large creamy head. Aroma: malt, roasted malt, chocolate, cacao, raisins, honey, sweet dried fruits. Taste: malt, raisins, caramel, honey, cacao, leek, spices.
Torr fin avslutning.
3.5 Mahogany colored, medium sized beige head. Aromas of dried fruit, yeast, brown sugar, malt and bananas. Taste of yeast, bananas, spices and malt.
3.9 A very nice dubbel. There's a taste i can't place but it's all pleasant. Works well in its category.
4.4 Vol van smaak. Best fruitig voor een dubb
2.0 Niet vies, niet lekker.
3.9 Bottle from Beermerchants.com. Brown pour with tan head that lasts nicely. Warming, lots of malt, spice, brown sugar, tobacco. Really nice.
3.8 Brought to me by the fine folks at belgiuminabox, I have a 33 cl bottle of Brugse Zot Dubbel to taste. Using a snifter purchased at Great Heights Brewing, the body shows up a solid dark brown with a heroic head of medium tan foam, I think we will have some lacing here. A representative nose of dark and yellow fruit with some yeastiness peaking through, all very positive. And a taste that follows along, plums, raisins, wheat bread, malt and a bit of toffee. This comes from the people that bring you Straffe Hendrik Quadrupel, I am on board. A very decent dubbel, thank you.
On s'ennuie...
3.5 Grassy hops, nice balanced taste of bitter and a sweet, in particular caramel and dark fruit. A little prickly mouthfeel. Quite good.
