Brewed with addition of biological cane sugar from South America, instead of the ubiquitous Belgian white candi sugar.

2.5Goudkleurig bier.
2.8Bit boring and average tripel. Taste is quite flat and the body thin. Pilsner like tripel.
3.8Thx! to Kraddel for the bottle. 33 cl. bottle sampled. Presumably 2008 or 2009 Vintage. Clear amber with an off-white head. Nose carries very dominant oxidation notes but this has oxidized very well, honey & caramel notes, flowers, sugar, fruits with light dates. Taste is the same deal with oxidation, faint sherry, honey, caramel, lots of brown & candy sugar, toffee, sweet, flowers, faint floral, biscuit, toast,… Slick but not very heavy oxidized. Didn’t expect anything from this one, I am a bit surprised as to how well this has kept, tripel’s should have the ability to withstand some time. This I assume was a mediocre beer that probably drinks better now than it ever did. Also where is this like distributed? I have never seen this one but there are lots of recent ratings of it up here.
3.0Cellar leftover . 2008 or 9 i think .
Assumed this was tripel danvers before duvel took over , but not aliassed . So ..
In one expression : over the top . Extremely much carbo , buttery , metallic ,
3.0from tap, pours clear amber with a small white head. the aroma is a bit sour, with some malts. not balanced at all. the taste is full of alcohol, bits of grain... no not good at all. the original koninck is still the best
2.7on draft .. . pours a mild orange .. mild head, spackled lacing .. . quite medicinal- honey, chemical yeast, and dough .. . long annoying finish .. . and what is biological cane sugar? cuz i think its crappy .. . . now listen up fart blossoms!!
3.4Bottle from Mam and Dad’s holiday, Belgium. A golden beer with a sweet spicy fruity flavour, malt, caramel and almond notes with a slight sugary and warming fruity finish.
2.833cl bottle. Orange and hazy with very small head. Nose : strong carbonation with medium thick body. Very sweet and orange flavoured start. Grains. Yeast. Too big carbonation to swallow it easily. Typical fruity esters plus there is a lot of orange. Not at all my kind of beer.
2.6Oro non molta schiuma poco persistente leggero malto una nota speziata quasi caramello discretavsecchezza leggero amaro finale
2.433cl bottle. Light amber color, clear, small and short lived bubbly offwhite head, fizzy look. Something mineral on the nose. Somewhat grainy, sour bread, some spicy yeast. A bit of caramel and a metallic component, with apple on the esters side. Taste is sour. Finish is moderately bitter. Texture tend to be oily, body is very thin for the style. Huh, a weird one, didn’t like it much, far away from Karmeliet.
3.1Bouteille 330ml.
3.4330ml bottle. Average belgina triple. Crispy, highly carbonated. Pours dark gold-amber, with nice white head, vanishing, some lacing. Taste is fruity, yeasty. Nice dyr aftertaste.
3.1Golden, slightly amber colour with a medium white, with hints of brown head, sweet citrus/grape with some herb smell. Sour and sweet grape champagne like texture with a bitter and sharp lasting aftertaste champagne carbonation in the mouth which makes it hard to place the further taste some chocolate like aftertaste medium bitter
Aldus Huubs.
2.7Draught at TND: Aroma of malt, caramel, sugar, and some grain. Poured yellow/gold in color with a small, creamy, loose, white head that greatly diminished but lasted throughout. Clear. Very slightly sparkling. Flavor is lightly sweet. Tastes of malt, slight hops, light caramel, and some grains. Medium body. Average texture. Average carbonation. Lightly sweet, malt, caramel, grain finish. 8%ABV is completely hidden throughout.
2.9Very typical belgian tripple with fruitiness and sweetness as with all Belgian beers. Solid tripple
3.0From Backlog
Head: bubbly, white, small
Colour; dark amber
Smell: typical de koninck
Taste: it’s like a bledn of a De Konick , with some sugar and alcohol added .. a tripel ? no ....
4.5hay, herbs, basement aromas, soy sauce, butterscotch, banana, alcohol, licorice, amber, cloudy, white foam, rocky head, heavy cloying sweetness, medium bitterness, medium sourness, full body, creamy, average carbonation, bitter, long finish,
3.4Light head, clear yellow. Fullbodied light sweet nose with lemon curd and a little gunpowder. Medium body and semilong aftertaste. a bit hollow with a lemony exit, marzepan. Quite nice an developing with some air.
3.2Originally rated December 2005. Bought at the LCBO, part of a 4 bottle pack with one De Koninck glass. This tripel pours an amber colour with a small head, but good lace. Cinnamon is found in the aroma, with some caramel, fruit and notes of honey. The mouthfeel is lacking, thin-bodied. Even the taste is under-par for this type of beer. Some spices, but very, very smooth. Too bad, good start for this one... but lacks in the flavour department.
2.7Bottle. Rose gold with a small white head. Some floaties. Aroma of caramel, dough and oranges. Dull mouthfeel - although it’s not undercarbonated. Taste is sweet with lots of caramel, some spices and flowers. Gently drying at the end. A little past best before date, but the hops are completely outgunned here.
3.8Poured slightly cloudy amber color with nice foamy off-white head. Smells of caramel and a little bit of yeast. Hints of sweetness and yeast with some hoppy bitterness.
3.6A little above average tripel, probably the best beer from Brewery De Koninck, in my opinion at least. Not the best smell but nice carbo and body.
3.2I don’t like the smell of koninck. Other than that it doesn’t have major flaws but i just don’t really like it.
3.3Bottle, poured into weizen glass. Aroma is quite bland, moderate head, creamy but dissipating. Dark brown, sunset amber hints, with numerous particles. Taste is bitter strong alcohol overtones, bitter and burnt with a sustained finish. Metallic and tinny
2.0A tripel that doesn’t really quite cut it, compared to the abbey tripels out there.
2.3Strange aroma, hints of pear/apple cider, some yeast and too much alcohol. Not liking this so far. Got worse with tasting. Way too sweet, artificial pear taste. Where are the hops? Weak body, medium carbonation. Very unimpressive tripel. I had only a third of a bottle and was drinking the last sips with reluctance.
