3.42020-03-06. Crisp yellow body, foamy white head. 3+ Aroma is lightly alcoholic, notes of pale malt and fruit. Flavour is lightly fruity, lightly alcoholic vinous notes. Average bodied palate, softly effervescent carbonation. 7/3-4/7/3/13-14 Bottle shared by mds.
3.6Bottle. Pours a clear earthy gold with a white head that dissipates to the edges. Aroma has earthy light fruits with a slight tartness, red wine barrel and some light spice underlying. Flavor has light spice up front with earthy funk, a growing tartness and a bit of wine barrel backing.
3.8Part of the LCBO 2019 Summer Beer Program, another Belgian oak aged from this brewer, but smoother than the young man (jeun’ homme) recently tasted. Worth the try.

4.0nice sour that isn't sweet. a little funny on first sip
3.5Pours clear deep gold with a small white ring. Aroma is belgian yeast, light spice and touch of oak. Taste is light spice and belgian yeast. Nice zest.
3.6330ml bottle from LCBO. Pours an average size frothy bubbly white head and has a pale golden appearance with lively carbonation. Some dirty sticky lacing remains. Aromas of yeast, wheat, herbal and floral notes. Flavours are yeasty and vinous, somewhat akin to white wine, also has some subtle woodsy, oak notes. Very subtle grainy hints. Sweet and slightly sour finish.
3.5Hazy golden colour with an amber hue. The head is creamy, warmish, with good retention and some thick foamy lacing. Interesting nose starting with some big sweetness, but what helps comes next with some mild red wine vinegar notes. Light Brett with earthiness and some hints of yeast. The taste is a nice mix of fruitiness and light vinegar and earth. There might be hints of rusty water, but seems fairly light all-around, even for 7.5% ABV. A nice sourness appears in the finish. Interesting.
1.7Bottle from the lcbo. Hazy orange pour with a large white head. Aroma is musty wet paper, metallic, sweet, musty cereals, not pleasant at all. Mouth feel is nice, carb is solid. Finish is more musty notes, minerals and metallic. Hints of fruit, wet cereals, very unpleasant.
3.7(tap) clear, bright yellow orange colour with a small white head; aroma of funk, fruit, then honey; bright, lightly tart flavour with l long, light tart then light bitter finish
3.4It pours hazy amber with straw highlights; the head is off white and foamy. Aroma has notes of: lemon juice, grapefruit zest, shortbread, and oats. The taste is medium sour that finishes lightly bitter. A palate is medium light-bodied, has medium carbonation, and a short finish. Overall, a decent sipper.
4.0Pours dark honey yellow, slightly hazy, medium sized head quickly vanishing. Aroma: restraint apple sourness, white wine, butterscotch, vanilla, coconut, nutmeg, some tannines. Taste: muscat whine, lactic acid, less apple sourness, soft to medium sourness, again with fine added complexity of oak. The added tastes of of the Medoc oak barrels are excellenty balanced between wine and wood. Very elegant and complex sour. Highly enjoyable degustation ale.
3.9Bottle from LCBO. Pours a clear deep golden colour. Aromas of citrus, white wine, and some oak barrels. Taste matches the aroma which finished on some mild lager notes. Well balanced. Not too sour. Medium bodied with high carbonation. Very enjoyable.
4.431/05/2019 - 33cl bottle @ Huis van de Grootjuffrouw, Kortrijk.
Cloudy golden to orange, small fading lacing. Nose is grains, brett, fresh fruits, bit spice. Taste is grains, brett, green apple, dry wine touch. very nice!
4.2Pale golden amber pour. There's a thin white head. The aroma has a pronounced oakiness. Some tartness and a bit of vanilla. There's a bit of light zestiness and a bit of grass. Light oak and a bit of vineousness. Really intense yet nuanced. A little bit of herbal mint, some cooling notes and a little bit of lemon.
3.2Lichtbruin bier met weinig schuim. Smaak is licht zuur en kruidig met iets van bitterkoekjes en appelstroop. Apart bier, normaal niet mijn stijl maar dit bier kan ik echt wel waarderen.
3.9Bottle 0.33ltr: Hazy orange colored brew with an good sour taste, hints of tart citrusfruits, soft peaches and vinous grapes, maybe also some small vinegar.
3.5Cloudy, brown colour and small creamy white head. Yeasty, tart aroma, vinous. Light tart taste, smooth. Light body, medium carbonation, smooth mouthfeel.
3.4Bottle sample at a tasting at troubles' place. Thanks Max & Stas. Cloudy golden. Oak, wine, funk, fruitiness, citrus, sourish and sweetish, caramel, some vinegar, spiciness, medium-bodied.
3.5At a tasting, thanks, small stable bubbly head, cloudy quite dark orange color, aroma of red wine vinegar, vanila, some onion and red fruit creeping in, flavor of red wine and red fruit with some chocolate and vanial behind, mellow light to medium sourness with some sweetness blending in, A bit heavy but still really nice and enjoyable.
4.0Bottle from a local bottle shop. Pretty complex aroma of wood, grainy malt, grapes, wine, fleshy fruits, barnyard funk, citrus, mild stone fruits, bread. Flavour is tart and moderate to medium sour with a little sweetness. Body is medium. So much better and more original than the label "hoogblond" suggests, this funky wine Sour/Wild is a bit of a gem.
3.533cl bottle
Pours a golden colour thin white head
Aroma sour spicy
Taste Sour spicy long sourish finish
1.5Rins bier, oranje amber van kleur. Weinig schuim. En metaal geur en smaak waarneembaar.
3.6330ml bottle. Pours hazy orange gold with a small head. Aroma is ashy and sour, some dark berries. Taste has lemon and some dark berries to start. Sharp ashy sour finish.
4.0Bottle from the Grumpy Goat, Reading. Deep gold with a thin white head and a moderate fizz. Funky farmyard summer fruits (raspberry and strawberry), followed by tart lemon, smooth vanilla and dry oak. Very interesting; full-flavoured and punchy and yet smooth and nicely balanced at the same time. A few weeks ago I criticised Stillwater's Oude Bae as I didn't feel that the sourness went with the vanilla notes from barrel-ageing; in this beer it works well though. Really enjoyed this one. Happy days!
3.60.33 l bottle from 'belgiuminabox.com', best before February 2019, cellared for a year. Clear, amber with a thin, frothy, slowly diminishing, white head. Slightly sweetish, sourish, quite fruity and slightly funky aroma of lemon, gooseberry, some vinegar, a touch of barnyard and hints of glue. A little sweet, medium sour, fairly fruity and a little funky taste of lemon, gooseberry, vinegar, quince, some wood, a touch of barnyard and traces of glue, followed by a medium long, quite tart, gently dry, vinegary and slightly woody finish. Medium body, gently astringent and moderately effervescent mouthfeel, average carbonation. A bit too much vinegar for my liking, the glue doesn't really bother me though. Other than that an intriguing beer with enough residual sweetness and a balanced acidity.
3.6A very good sour ale but not in the upper ranks. Nice aromas and flavors of peach, citrus and some barnyard funk. Pours a dark golden color with a small white head. Fairly sour finish with a medium body. The ABV is hidden very well.
3.6Bottle at home. I just typed a whole rating but RB messed up. Slight hazy golden with small white head. Sour apple, grains, gooseberries, light cider vinegar, coriander, soft sweet malts, flight flowers 💐 🥝. Over medium sour, light sweet and very light bitter. Medium bodied.
