2.8 Flat beer with almost no head. Mild taste of caramalt. Hopping is subtle, with some nice amarillo. Bit boring.
Scherpe hoplucht. Wat waterige smaak, bitter. Prima, niet bijzonder.
3.5 Bottle. Yellow-brown, cloudy with a big white head. Aroma has yeast, plastic, citrus and grain. Taste has pine, citrus, some hay and grapefruit on the aftertaste. Very tasty for a low alcohol count.
3.4 Ins Glas ergießt sich ein bernsteinfarbenes Bier mit geringer Schaumkrone. Geruch malzig, Karamell, fruchtig. Geschmack trocken fruchtig, malzig, Karamell.
3.5 Bottle. Poured clear amber hue with an average frothy white head that Mostly lasted with excellent lacing. Moderate to heavy aroma of earthy floral hop. Medium body with a slick texture and soft carbonation. Well balanced bittersweet flavor with a medium bittersweet finish of moderate duration. This is a solid brew.
3.4 330 mml bottle at home 14/01/2014. The aroma is very intensive with sweet fruit notes and hops. Nice head and low carbonation. The dark orange colour is nice. Decent beer
2.8 Aroma: Honey and Lemon, slightly floral and herby. Appearance: Red-amber, slight haze, no head. Taste: Sour, cereal, bitter, slightly astringent/metallic. Palate: Thin, light-bodied, medium carbonation, bitter finish. Overall: Imitation is the greatest form of flattery. To the classic bitter, this is a backhanded compliment.
3.0 Pours a hazy orange/golden with a white head. Aroma of yeast, citrus, hops. Medium bitterness and a little sourness. Quite hoppy/citrussy for an English Bitter. Nothing stellar, just a nice refreshing beer.
3.7 Bottle from Erzbierschof - Hazy amber/orange color, medium white head - Aroma is fruity more citrusy, caramalt, yeasty - Flavor is fruity(grapfruit), yeasty(bready), good malt backbone - Medium body, good carbonation, good bitterness, long dry and bitter finish - good and refreshing beer nothing more
3.3 Bottled on 12-6-2013 (EU) 33 cl. Pours a small white creamy head. Hazy amber and a bit orange color. Floral hoppy aroma with also malts noticable. Equally floral and hoppy taste, but a bit lacking on the bitterness. Some hints of vanilla and grass. Watery texture, medium carbonation. Decent.
3.1 Bottle. Spritzy, fresh fruit aroma (peaches and pineapple), with some ester notes. Orange-amber color. Sourish, fruity (even perfumey), overripe pears and peaches. Finish is somewhat dry. Thin-medium body. Same recipe (or same ingredients) as Amerikaans, but the hops are reversed (Amarillo for bittering and sladek for dry-hopping). Not as full-bodied as Amerikaans but more refreshing.
2.8 Bottle from the De Molen shop on the 17.56 Brussels - St Pancras, post Borefts, 29/09/13. Hazed amber with a moderate off white head. Nose is caramel, grass, orange, light soap, toasted malts. Taste comprises bitter orange, lemon rind, grass, hint of caramel, soapy, citric fruit. Medium bodied, fine carbonation, dry finish with light bitter tones. So so bitter, not really true to style - too much citrus fruit and the soapy tones detracted from my enjoyment of this one.
3.2 Orange, kein starkes aroma, ganz leicht fruchtig, etwas fad im geschmack, leichte säure und bittere, nichts aber dominierend, feine rezenz
3.0 Bottle from the brewery. Bright dark orange pour with a reluctant fleeting white head. Hazed. Aroma is woody earthy hop with slight citrus edge. Flavour is cara malt and balanced earthy hop. Lowish carbonation. Slight metallic finish and low bitterness.
3.2 Hazy orange with medium, quickly disappearing head. Nice intensive aroma of citrus and flowers. Taste is light malty and floral, but everything is dominated but spices and yeast. Very low carbonation and medium body. Dry finish. Average beer.
3.8 A very satisfying beer. Dry yet refreshing. Has the typical molen flavors but without the overpowering Saaz hop they usually do. It’s a bit more in balance with this one. Some fruitiness, spiciness, mild sweetness and light bitter. Very refreshing on a hot summer day!
3.7 Gyllen disig farve med lyst skum. Lukt av fruktig humle, sitrus og malt. Smak av malt, sitrus, karamell, og frukt. Melkebaren.
3.8 God duft av citrus og honning. Lite hengende skum. Fin gyllen honning farge. Fin smak av citrus og honning.
3.6 33cl bottle, served in Irish Pint. Pours hazy orange, flame, with small white frothy head (lasting). Citrusy aroma with some malts and yeast. The flavour is lightly fruity (ripe fruits), hoppy (more evident on the nose though), and quite yeasty. Medium mouthfeel, good carbonation. Drinkable and refreshing, not exactly a Bitter, nor an English Pale Ale...weird but nice.
3.7 33cl bottle, Geers, sampled VI2013 (backlog). Pours a very pleasant zesty and effervescent orange, which is then mirrored in aroma and taste: tangerine hops and a wisp of pale malt caramel working in accord with refreshingly thin mouthfeel. As much subtle flavour as you can pack into a light continental bitter, I suppose. Always in support of tasty & light new summer brews...
3.0 Bottle from Good Beer. Dry, mineral nose, earthy hops, grass and light citrus, some caramel. Medium amber color with a low head. Light malt flavor, citrus hops, caramel, chocolate. Rather thin and quite metallic, a bit dirty as well, but hops and malt balance well. OK, but nothing special.
3.5 Thanks to kiwianer for sharing! Pours a hazy honey color with a loose tan/orange head. The smell is citrus, tangerine, smarties. Taste is tart citrus, tangerine - ends dry and slightly bitter. Light body, active carbonation but finely structured. A tasty 4.5% brew!
3.0 7/VII/13 - 33cl bottle from Geers (Oostakker) @ home - BB: 23/VII/14, bottled: 23/VII/12 (2013-615) Little cloudy orange beer, big irregular creamy yellowish head, little stable, bit adhesive. Aroma: fruity, metallic, quite some chloride, citrus. MF: lots of carbon, medium body. Taste: bit sourish, lemony, little fruity, some pineapple. Aftertaste: bitter, citric hops, little malty, honey, grassy touch. Meh.
3.7 The head is medium, the body cloudy and brown. It smells hoppy, fruity, interesting. The taste is hoppy, bitter, fruity, refreshing, hoppy-fresh. Good 12/12/11/12/12/12
4.1 Golden orange amber with a frothy, lingering, lacy, off-white head. Smells of citrus orange hops, peachy fruit with light pine and medium malt. Medium oily body with soft carbonation. Tastes of sweet malt with soft yeast and a general fruity hops with a bit of pine. Medium sweetness with a soft bitterness and a fruity hoppy lingering finish.
3.4 Aroma: Clean aroma of (Belgian?) yeast, orange and a hint of white pepper. Appearance: Hazy golden body with a massive off-white head. Light carbonation. Lots of sticky lacing marks. Taste: Subtle flavour of grass, straw and lime. Pear and coriander. Palate: Thin to medium body with a very oily mouthfeel. Flat carbonation. Overall: It’s listed as a Bitter but I think it’s more of a Pale Ale. It’s certainly more hoppy and complex than all other Bitters I’ve tried.
3.7 Aroma: yeast, citrus, caramel, little bready; Appearance: orange/amber color, little hazy, small off-white foam; Taste: medium sweetness, medium bitterness, little sour; Palate: medium body, a bit oily feel, long dry finish; Overall: very good beer, great drinkability
3.7 33 cl bottle @Bierkoning, Amsterdam, bottled 23,07,2012. Pours heavy hazy pale orange with white-off medium top diminishing in long lasting frothy layer, light lacing. Aroma - definetly US hops, fruity-citrusy, soapy, sweet malty, not yeasty at all. Taste - bitter with far away sour as American pale ale, minimal malt sweetness, light dry finish, medium to light bodied, watery texture. Some sweetness, caramely in aftertaste what surprises me cause sweet in flavour as it is - minimal. Overall - if this is bitter than it is my first bitter hopped not with English hops and there is no that sour berries-candy tones in flavour at all. But as some bitter pale ale I like it.
