3.9Bottle courtesy of Alberto. Thanks!
A: Mahogany body with a creme color head. Lacing.
N: Dark cocoa, coffee, brown sugar, roast, raisin, licorice, red wine, oxidation, oak, leather, tobacco, and hazelnut.
T: Sweet and roasty bitter.
M: Medium body, touch of burn, fizzy carbonation.
O: Very nice. I liked the BA Rasputin a touch more, but only just. Some nice interplay here, especially as wine barrel stouts tend to suffer in my opinion.
4.1Bottle at a tasting in Portland-Oregon, many thanks to douglas88 for hosting and offering. Over 2 years aged. Coffee bean pour, tan little foam with little retention. Nose: chocolate start, resins, dry prunes, molasses. Mouth: mild roast, chili middle, more chili, clean and rich.
4.0Bottle thanks to Alberto. Pours a cloudy brown color with a medium white head. A huge chocolate nose. The flavor is big baker’s chocolate, red wine, leather and ash. Very good.
Aromat potężny, dużo czekolady i nut whisky. W tle niuanse waniliowe.
W smaku pełne, słodkie. Dominuje słodka czekolada i wyraźna popiołowość. Finisz lekko kwaśny, przywodzący na myśl wytrawne czerwone wino. W posmaku nuty drewna i whisky.
4.033cl bottle at home from Plan B, Rotterdam. Nose is milk chocolate with mixed spirits, mostly whiskey. Body is pitch black, head is small, creamy, brownish, mostly lasting, excellent lacing. Aroma is whiskey, milk chocolate, Bailey’s, dried fruits, vanilla, licorice. Medium to heavy sweet, heavy roasty bitter, light wineish sour. Finish is long lasting roasty medium to heavy bittersweet, lots of chocolate, medium alcohol warmth. Full body, oily texture, soft carbonation. Quite heavy dessert beer, quite different from other Hel & Verdoemenish, nice one.
4.533cl bottle. Pours a very dark brown, with a tall and fine grained espresso head that is slow to rise to the surface - it looks perfect. The retention is excellent. Complex smell, dark cherries, cocoa, milk chocolate, coconut, wine barrel, whiskey barrel and bourbon. The taste does not let down - very well balanced and very complex. Notes of cocoa, milk chocolate, cherries, some dried fruit, whiskey, red wine, barrel sourness. Smooth mouthfeel (if it were a bit more thick it would have been a 5), medium to low carbonation and a very chocolatey aftertaste.
4.40.33 l bottle from ’Plan B’ (Rotterdam), bottled in November 2013 (just over two years old). Opaque black with a medium large, creamy, stable, brown head. Sweetish, roasty-malty aroma of dark chocolate, burnt nuts, some tar, licorice and hints of red wine. Sweet, roasty-malty taste of dark chocolate, vanilla, tobacco, nougat, tar, licorice and hints of raisins, followed by a long, warming, roasty-bitter, boozy finish. Full body, creamy to oily mouthfeel, flat. Excellent stuff! Very complex, intense, superb mouthfeel and still nicely balanced.
3.9330ml bottle enjoyed @ home, thanks to Yeaster. Pours very dark brown with a medium brown head. Aroma is roasted malt, coffee, bourbon, oak, chocolate, dark dried fruits, vanilla and a bit charred. Flavour is light sweet, medium bitter and a hint of sourness. Full bodied, oily texture, average carbonation. Finish is roasted, woody, slightly boozy and some ashtray.
4.1Bottle. Brown pour with a kaki head. Dark roasted malt aromas. Mild vinous notes give way to big roasted malts, muted caramels, and oak. Good body and mouthfeel.
4.333cl Bottle shared by Maakun. Very dark brown w/ red haze. Creamy head. Deep roasted dark fruit chocolate marzipan full bodied sweet goodness. Backlog from 2014/04/11.
4.3Bottle 33 cl. Black, aroma and taste: wine, coffee, chocolate, caramel, whiskey, vanilla, slightly sour dry red wine, great stout!
4.1Bottle at BBF Lab. Black colour with tan head. Wood, vanilla and roasted aroma. Wine, wood and rasoted taste. Medium to full body.
5.0It pours oily black, with a medium brown head, which is a surprise as the non-cuvée version had none. Aroma is already promising: Belgian chocolate, coffee, roasted malts and caramel. Taste gets even better, chocolate, vanilla and bourbon from the barrel open the show, then espresso coffee lasts in the mouth with the bourbon after taste. Wonderfully complex and creamy. A master piece!
3.7Black as the night with a big beige head. It was a little bit to much carbonation. Aroma was at first a bit to boozy. Everything about this beer got better after a while. Probably in need for some fresh air. My mouth had to work some time here. Lots of flavors popped up after a while. Nice. Red wine-ish, some bourbon, coffee, chocolate and some licorice. Complex powerful stuff! In the end the alcohol was dangerously well masked.
[Bottle from a trade with markextrae]
4.3Bottle opened for Luke’s birthday. Serious stuff this. Very pepper driven nose with some deep cherry and coconut behind intensely dark chocolate. The taste was loaded with charred oak, vanilla, mild spice and a mild red berry feel to it. Absolutely melds together perfectly. It has this chewy, but silky smooth feel to the beer which brings everything together. Slightly unusual with the Bordeaux presence. Incredible
4.3Bottle from De Hopduvel. Vintage ’nov. 2013. Soft carbonation. Black, beautiful dark beige foam, stays long. Coffee and roasted malts. Sweet vinous notes. Light hints of caramel and vanilla. Well balanced, not too sweet. Light tart notes. Good!
4.3Bottled. The aroma has chocolate, roast, some dark fruits, vanilla, oak. Black coloured beer with a thin, beige head. The taste is moderate bitter with chocolate sweetness, bourbon, roast, some dark fruits. Full, creamy. Very nice.

Black with a small dense tan head. Aroma is roasted malt, ash, some green apples notes, red wine, oak. Taste is medium sweet with some red wine, oak, chocolate and dark fruit. Finish is bitter chocolate, red wine. Medium to full bodied, soft carbonation.
4.1Bottle shared with some chill brahs at Ryan’s good friday sess, pours sinful black with smaller off white head. Notes of dark cocoa, mud, rich barrels, light Bordeaux, smoked nuts, and awesome de molen Porter/stout. Insanely rich and complex with minimal alcohol detected.
3.9Black color with a minimal and quickly diminishing beige head. Aroma has notes of bourbon, light licorice with coffee beans notes. Flavor is slightly sweet at the beginning with coffee notes, alcoholic hidden by bourbon andbarrel notes. Coffee notes with roasted hints on palate. Bourbon tracks with some sweet aftertaste.
4.3Bottle - 330ml. Opaque black body with an average, brown foamy head. Fantastic, complex malty/hoppy aroma with Bourbon, chocolate, oaky, caramel, and fruity hints. Alcohol is not agressive. Its robust, well balanced taste carries woody, licorice, plummy, and roasty notes. Ends with a long, strong, warming, roasty finish. Another home run for De Molen!
3.8Warka butelkowana 19.11.2013. Kolor czarny, nieprzejrzyste. Piana bardzo obfita, ale szybko opada do grubej obraczki. W aromacie kawa, palonosc, gorzka i mleczna czekolada, duzo czerwonego wina, lekka wanilia i suche drewno, sporo owocow, bardzo przyjemny aromat. W odczuciu bardzo geste, oleiste, a nawet kisielowate, bardzo gladkie, nisko wysycone. Goryczka srednia, ziemista i alkoholowa.
4.9Bouteille.
